For years now Subway has been playing commercials that demeaning overweight people and people who like burgers. So It tells me that you Must be small to even walk into any Subway since they obviously don't want Any fat people to eat there. Why else would they demean them? And this year they also have added athletes saying that Subway is part of their training. So not only do you Have to be a size 6 or less in women or size 29 waste as a guy to go eat there but Now you Must be an Athlete?! That leaves me out Twice.so yet again I will Never eat there, I'm too fat And I like Burgers, This isn't the Place for me. (whew) I feel better now. Your thoughts.

This has nothing to do with the individual franchise location, not one bit. This is just a tactic by Subway to try to get more health conscious people to eat the food. That being said, years ago, when they did those Jared commercials, they tried to tell people that eating nothing but their sandwiches would make you skinny. Well, here's the "skinny" on Subway: First of all, it's not as healthy as you might think it is. Why? Well, look at the menu. Assorted sub, what is it? Processed meat and cheese. Am I right? And processed anything is full of salt. The salt content in the subs would be as high, if not higher than a meal from McDonalds when you think about it. Here's why: Take a foot long assorted sub. That's more bread than you get in a hamburger. Bread has a high salt content as it is, and eating this much is worse. Not to mention the excess amount of carbs you're getting from it. Then there's the processed meat and cheese. With the assorted sub, you're getting 3 types of processed meat. The meat, each kind, has its own salt content, and put all 3 together, you triple that amount. Then the cheese. Since it's processed, again, there's far too much salt in it. Do you know what too much salt does to your body? Talk about an enzyme imbalance. Too much salt will dry you up. It cancels out the balance of potassium, which your body needs. AND, it causes high blood pressure, which in turn puts strain on the heart. I eat there, and I'm overweight, I'm not even close to the class of people they try to get eating there. And you know why fat people don't eat there? Because they get scared off by the commercials for one, but the biggest thing is the price. You can get a meal from any other fast food joint cheaper than a sub there.

So they are sabotaging themselves . I think they want to scare people who are afraid to become overweight. But by using these demeaning commercials And pricing themselves out of the True market, they are pushing more people away. I should have known, the more commercials, the less the market share! I did email Subway and told them why I won't be eating at Any of their restaurants a few years ago. It Felt good. So there are some poor souls that think their Italian Meatball sub is healthier than a Big Mac? That is sad. Thanks for your response.

Surprisingly, a Big Mac could be healthier. While the salt content is high, it's not as high as the sub since the sub has more to it. And if you don't pile on the veggies, it doesn't help. You'd be better off making your own at home if you can, but avoid all the processed garbage.

But i love my processed garbage, lol. When I order a Big Mac, I get it plain, no cheese , no sauce , no lettuce. Just meat and bread. I remember the puzzled looks We , my mom and I ,would get when we ordered my burger plain back in the day. No Cheese? They would say? And we would say Just the meat and the bread! I can't tell you how many times we had to send a burger back! My favorite Burger joint It is the Reverse. If You Wany Anything on your burger , then it is a special order!

I enjoy subway. A sanwhich is nice every now and than over a burger. I think you can find a sensible meal anywhere you go. I guess I never thought of the commercials as putting overweight ppl down. before I go any further yes Im over weight. Its something i have dealt with my whole life. I have lost weight, had a baby gained it back. Lost weight had a baby gained it back and it never left 5 years later.Im trying, but its hard. I look at their commercials as more this is a healthier a healthier option over a burger. I guess it just depends on what you get at subway. You wouldnt want a foot long, but a 6 inch. Obvously no cheese, little mayo and wld want to go with a leaner meat. Subways foods have problems too. The best way to eat healthy is to prepare it yourself. When yo go out you can find the better option, but in reality you ddint fix it, you didnt purchase the food yourself, your paying someone else to do that. To each his own. I guess my biggest pet peeve is with all the clothes commercials, why do the girls have to eba size 0? Cant they show real women for a change. Let me tell you I have a hard time finding my size, because others are the same and they have run out of that size.

um yah... being obese causes heart disease and diabetes. It also is harder on your body to carry more weight so it causes a lot of pain. You also have less energy if your not feeding yourself properly. If your eating balanced and exercising and are still big thats fine... your still healthy. but yah obviously these arent concerns of yours.

um I have never seen a subway commericial demaning fat people. Subway's marketing is based on the fact that its fresh and healthy fast food. It definately is better for your health than a burger. I eat there because its healthy and you can have lots of veggies without being overcharged. They offer whole wheat bun options which most burger places do not. I am definately not skinny and I love subway... and fit in the door.

Clearly Subway and Victoria's Secret are in cahoots, cus you can't wear any of VS's clothing unless you eat at Subway...

SubWay happens to have pretty good food but lets face it, none of that food is any good for you anyway. If you ate Subway everyday, you probably would wind up with a heart condition. Subway is no different than any other fast food chain. They all stink. I had McDonald's the other day and believe me, the burgers were horrible. If you want a good sandwich, go buy the cold cuts yourself and make your own. Some people are fat not because of food but because they might have a Thyroid condition. Forget Subway, eat home cooked food.

I don't cook. I love McDonald's Angus burger, plain. And the Only thing I Liked at subway was their sorry version of Steak and cheese. I rather go to Philadelphia Cheessteak factory and get the Real thing.
