Well, it's been awhile since I've been on the lot. Anyhow Easter Sunday I had to have dad rushed to the ER. He was bleeding in his urine very heavily. Also a lot of large clots in it. So they gave him some meds, a catheter and I set up a follow up with a urologist for Tuesday. Well Monday he was in pain etc again so had to call 911 again. He was still bleeding heavily in his urine & they admitted him to the hospitral. He gets discharged Thursday to a nursing home for short term rehab to help him walk etc again. Now, on top of all this my wife is having surgery to have her gall bladder removed next week. So Thursday I have to deal with dads transfer etc as well as get my wife to her pre-op physical. Just wanted to let my friends here know whats been happening. As far as my garden goes, I have yet to even pull a weed from the areas. Its been cold and snowing and raining too much lately. Nothing even started as seedlings indoors yet. Take care all.

Thanks for the update on how things have been with you and the family. So sorry to hear about your dad. Hope he gets better soon and can come home. Also hope your wife comes thru her surgery just fine. I said a prayer for all of you. I have been wondering how you have been. Spring sure has been slow in getting here and staying here. When I think of gardens and growing vegies, gotta think of you. I pulled up a few things yesturday from the garden, you popped in my head. Tis the season to be thinking along those lines. That is if the weather ever figures out what it is going to do. Take care, give us an update on how dad and Deb are doing.

It is hard to get into it this year for me as well. My fruit trees, however, make sure I know it is spring. It is not as warm as usual, but then the next thing I know we will be sweltering.

In actuality, I don't even feel like doing any gardening this year. Hopefully this feeling passes soon.

Bob, I will pray for them both. I know the weather has been rough up there. Not sure when we will get to head that way again. Please keep us up to date. I hope Debbie does well and that your dad is cooperative with rehab. Does he have some kind of infection?

You know how to get in touch if you need to talk. Gall Bladder surgery often improves the quality of life for people. Sometimes it is done laparascopically and the recovery is really short then.

He had a serious UTI. It's just a lot for me to handle all at one time. But being sober for over 20 years is helping a lot as I know how to keep my calm to a point. I have broken down in tears quite a few times the past couple days but made it through it so far. Thanks.

I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. So stressful when something like that happens.
However, I have got to say, that having my gall bladder out was one of the best things to happen, and FAR better to do it with a planned operation than how I had it done!

I am sorry to hear your Father is not doing well. Have they figured out what was causing the bleeding? I take it they must have since they are discharging him tomorrow.
I have had my gal bladder out when my eldest was 1 yr old. I hope she's having it done lapriscopic so she'll be like herself sooner.
We've had bouts of rain, hail and snow here too. More rain than anything we haven't gotten into the garden here either. Just happy to see the sun whenever it does show up.

Yeah, he had a serious urinary tract infection. No more bleeding as of tonight so thats a great thing to hear. But he doesn't want to go in for rehab. But it's my choice in the end and I just hope it's the right choice. Thanks.

I should say quite serious. And if I recall correctly he lives with you? You mentioned physical therapy to help with walking does that include occupational therapy? I don't know if that's included as well but it doesn't hurt as they can show him tricks and tools to do things in ways we would not of thought of.

Hello Grandpa Bob.
This is the 2nd disturbing topic i am answering today, and the following on the list isn't a happy one either, as it seams that people here, or at least my friends here at mylot face difficult times at the moment.
I hope he recovers and that she will be okay as well after these events.
All the best from Romania,
Alex

Good to hear from you, but wish it was under better circumstances. I hope all goes well with your dad and your wife surgery. I had my gallbladder out in my 30s. Thursday is going to be a really big and stressful day for you. I wish you well

How sad that on Easter your father had to go to the hospital and but put through all that. What was wrong with him that was causing all that? I hope that your wifes surgery goes well. I would be very scared if I had to have my gall bladder take out but shes probably just looking forward to not having to deal with the gall bladder issues anymore.

UTI. (urinary tract infection) Gall bladder removal is quite common and no problem except the week off hurts financially.

Wow he has to have physical therapy because of the UTI? I get them all the time but it never causes me to not be able to walk. Once when I was pregnant with my daughter though it went into my kidneys and I could barely walk and oh my gosh I was in so much pain. I hope he got the medicine he needed and is feeling better. UTIs can be really painful.

I was just thinking about you the other day when I was looking at my garden spot, just looking and doing nothing about it. I thought about the tarps you spread out to kill the weeds and how Gus would pee on them if I did the same!
I'm so sorry to hear that things haven't been going well in your household. I'll say prayers for your wife and dad and for you. I do hope they both return home in good health. These things really take a toll on a person so please take care of yourself and come back to visit us when you can.

I hope everything turns out allright, grandpa Bob. There are times that it seems everything gets out of control

Thoughts and prayers sent to you. It is so hard when things like that happen. My son and I had surgery one week apart. It was quite a challenge, but glad it is over. Take care of you through all this.

Good to hear from you but sorry to hear the news on your dad. Hopefully it's nothing too serious. A lady from the senior apartment I live in had the same thing happen and had to be hospitalized and turns out she has a very serious bladder/kidney infection.
I had my gall bladder out in 1980 but these days the surgery has come a long way and much less invasive. None the less Best wishes to you and the family and please do keep us posted. Seems forever since I saw you here. I've been away a lot as well.
Bet Savanna is getting to be quite the little lady by now. Take Care and remember to get some rest. Hugs.

I`m So Sorry, I know what your going through my father was just in the hospital ER last week. He suffers from Cancer/COPD/ plus a lot of other ailments. He was in Vietnam and gassed with agent orange.
Not to mention, The holidays can be extra depressing when something like this happens
I will keep your Father in my Prayers, He sounds like a good guy. I hope both are fathers are alright
If you ever need someone to talk with I`m around
