Paper Plastic or Cloth?

Do you have the reusable cloth grocery bags? Or do you still use the ones the grocery store gives you? I'm ashamed to say that I still use the plastic bags and every once in a while I will ask for the paper bags. I use those for different stuff like crafts or wrap paper. I am just not organized enough to keep up with the cloth or canvas bags. Maybe someday.

I am a cloth bag fanatic. I will buy some almost at every store I shop at. I find them sturdier and much more convenient. Trouble is that each time I shop, lol I forget them at home. So I end up getting more.

I have received them as gifts, etc. and always used them for work supplies at my various jobs. I want to make some really nice ones, though.

I will have to try you trick and remember each time. For some odd reason I only remember when I am at the store counter. But I will make it a note to remember, making you own sounds like fun.

I primary use cloth bags. Have for a few years. If I forget my bags, I opt for paper since we will use those instead of trash bags. If I forget a bag and just need 1 or 2 items, I just carry the items out.

I have noticed a number of cashiers at various stores will ask you if you need a bag for that. I carry a pretty large purse and can even put things inside. I have a lot of the plastic bags and I want to cut them up and crochet with them.

I have actually seen a lot of different things made with the plastic bags. I'm not sure how they were made, if it was crochet or what but it looked pretty neat. thanks guys

I get plastic if I forget my cloth bags. I try to keep some in every car. I have gotten a lot of them for free. I have pegs or hooks by my back door to hang those bags on.

The trick with this is to take them immediately back to the car once you have put up the groceries.

i am guilty of using the plastic bags given by the supermarket everytime my mom and i go for groceries. we never bring paper bags with us (the recyclable ones). well for one we do not have enough bags with us. sometimes our groceries would have 8 plastic bags. what we do is just reuse these bags when necessary.

My store offers paper or plastic, and I usually choose the plastic unless I need the brown paper for something..craft for the kids etc. But since I live upstairs and have a knee problem...it is really hard to carry the paper up anyway. But at my grocery, they have the member card thing and I get 5 points (turned into money every quarter) for up to 10 bags I bring back in. So I just keep 10 in my trunk (well, usually about 20..just in case) and then I get the 50 points, plus recycle, plus only require half the bags I need. The stores bags are pretty thin and chincy and tear pretty easy, so what I have done it keep the ones I get from Target as they are pretty strong and I use those instead of the stores. I only get point for 10 but usually keep about 20 in the trunk and take them in the store with me. I use extra ones I get for trash bags instead of buying those.
