Americans, and others, what do you make of Obama's Governance so far?

I'm writing this post right in the aftermath of a significant achievement, even a feat, the latest feather in Barack Obama's cap - the termination of arguably the most notorious terrorist of our time: Osama Bin Laden. I confess I'm not following U.S. politics closely enough to make an assessment of Obama's term in the office thus far - so I would like my American and western friends to throw some light on Obama's report card, on what you deem to be his highs and lows in his regime until now. How has he fared in your eyes, in the political, economic and social spheres, both in context of America as well as the world? And lastly, would you elect him to a second term? (If not, who else?) Thank you. :)

I think he's doing alright. That perfect, but we were not expecting perfect from him because he does not run the country alone. As far as the latest accomplishment, I'll say "my god, that made a lot of people sleep in peace from the aftermath of 9/11 or other destruction from Osama." All in all he's doing good, but we need to keep moving forward and to get USA moving forward in other issues like the economy.

What do you think are his chances of a second-term? And his possible replacement, if he doesn't get reelected?

I would not want his job. I do not like some of the things he has done but I think he has done what he could considering how horrible the economy has been and that we are technically in three wars now. That I do not care for too much. He was not what I thought he would be though. He is a good talker but does not come across to be able to do all he says he can do. I do not think I will vote for him this next time for the simple fact he has not done most of what he said he would do.

Yes, that's one thing I've been hearing quite a bit as well - that he hasn't delivered as well as he seemed promised to at the start.

I think he is doing an alright job so far. Not much can be asked of him since Bush left him in such a mess to clean up. I am not sure I would re-elect him though. I am not sure who else could do a better job either.

I think he is getting credit for something that he had little to do with and that had been in the works for a long time. If he had closed down Guantanamo or if the the method of questioning he was opposed to had not happened, the intelligence for the raid that got Osama bin Laden would not have existed. All he did was say O'K go ahead and do it. As far as the rest of his presidency is concerned, he has just been spending and spending without really fixing the economy and has been creating more and bigger bureaucracies that will bring more government waste.

I_LUV_U, For a start, I believe Obama does deserve the credit for the eradication of Bin Laden, the mastermind of 911 and leader of the notorious Al-Qaida, where he made the decisive call for a ground operation over bombing the place with the latest smart missile bombs. However, we mustn't forget that Obama is just finishing what had been started by former President George Bush. As to whether this will ensure him being re-elected, I do not think so as there's so much to do within the US especially for the peoples' pockets where they are still reeling from the recent economic tsunami. Anyway, I've stumbled on 2 very interesting blogs and I feel that it will help you understand whatever is going on. Take it from me, it is interesting and be assured that it is not any referral link.
