Innodated with pop-ups....HELP!!!!

Every single time I click to answer a discussion...a pop-up ad comes up for a screen saver or something. I don't do pop-ups. I used to get a few, okay, no problem, but now it is literally every time I click to respond a comment to a discussion...so many times in fact, that there are 8-9 icons in my task bar from these popups. I get confused at which are them and which is mylot and have to go back and close each and every one. What a waste of time and it really annoys me that I am constantly interupted from my conversations, discussions and comments to posts. I have CCleaner I use every day. I have AVG anti virus and "block popups" clicked on tools/options.
Why is this happening and anything I can do to stop them?

Right now I have the same problem, I don't know what to think of it, my browser blocks the pop-ups but I still get the stupid message telling me that they were blocked, for a minute I thought it was a virus or some form of malware, but I think is mylot. I don't know how to fix the problem, and yes, this is irritating and ruining my time here.

You got probably a virus or a malware. If you are using a toolbar, a virus can be installed in your system and not detected by an antivirus. The best way to remove it is to boot with a non contaminated disk and to scan your disk -- I scan my Windows HDDs with XF-Prot under Linux --.

No new tool bars, but the popups only happen while in Mylot. I go else where and they stop. What is a "non-contaminated disk" and where do I get one and what is it used for?

hi coffeebreak if you have Firefox you can program it to block all the popups . I have most of the popups blocked so if you have a different browser it still is likely to have popup blockers on it too,. while AVG is a great virus protection it does not do much for popups but my firefox does .oh did you by any chance download that gopher thing from my lot as if you did it just floods your computer with popups. I did not download it and a lot of people have complained about the flood of popups.

I have FF and have the blocker and it does block...puts that yellow bar up at the top saying it has and gives the option to allow it...and it works...on everything but My Lot!

I am not having this problem...You most likely have a virus. Download every possible antivirus you can find (delete after use, don't run more than one). I'm pretty sure it's a virus because this happened to me before.

I'll work on it. Odd that it only happens while I am on MyLot...if I leave to do other things...the popups stop.
