Here's a photo of my Caesar lettuce which broke through the ground today May 11th. Now I need tomatoes, onions etc for a salad but seems the lettuce is ahead of everything. But it'll still be tasty alone etc. Do you eat lettuce by itself just as a snack at all?

I see them sneaking through there. I love lettuce with vinaigrette and or thousand island dressing, when prepared in salads. But have been known to eat lettuce alone with some vegetable oil and salt at anytime of the day.
Seems like you will be getting quite a few there.

I love salads. I do sometimes eat pieces of lettuce as a snack. And I'll dip it in dressing sometimes. There is a sandwich place here where I live and they can make sandwiches with lettuce wraps instead of with the bread. They are really good too.

I love to get a wedge of lettuce and dip it into low-cal dressing as a snack. It's tasty, crunchy and satisfying! I grew some Romaine last year and couldn't figure out what I was supposed to do with it--tear off one leaf at a time, the whole thing or what? I was so busy last year I didn't get a chance to look up the answer!

Tear off whatever you wish to eat. Then you can replant as well. I'll be replanting some in a months time so I'll have lettuce till Sept I think.

How lovely to see your seeds flourish! Salads are great, plain or fancy. Just plain lettuce does stand alone as a salad, as in Caesar salad, and any other lettuce and dressing combination.
Lettuce can also be used in place of bread, as in lettuce wraps, Asian style with minced chicken, or as in tuna salad roll-ups.
There are many such choices for your lettuce until you get the rest of your salad ingredients going.
