I went on the tour of homes with my sister in the town where she lives..we saw two remodeled homes and 11 brand spanking new ones! Its so much fun to see what's new and to dream about what it would be like to actually own one! They weren't as impressive as other tours I have went on. Actually we were a bit disappointed but we believe that with the economy being what it is that they cut back on different things that would have made the homes really outstanding. Have you ever had a dream home that you would love to own? Have you ever been on a tour of homes?

My dream was to design my own home and so we went in search of land. Getting land in metros was out of question as the cost was prohibitive. We finally settled down to buying a piece of land in a semi rural town where we did not know a soul but my dream ignored all those aspects. And yes. I designed my home and it is has now become a reality.

i HAVE NEVER BEEN ON A HOUSE TOUR ALTHO THEY USUALLY HAVE ONE HERE AT CHRISTMAS. I'M JUST NOT VERY SOCIAL. I wanted an older house for years & looked at a bunch of them & did find one i really wanted but couldn't sell my house in time to get it. i believe everything happens for a reason so guess i didn't need it to start with.

I've never been on a tour of homes.. but when I was a kid I went to a few open houses just for fun and I did dream of owning a nice house like that. Today my dream is to own any sort of house.. It does not need to be someone's dream home.. just a home with a yard!

I've never been on a tour of homes but some years back I worked for a gas company in Michigan as an inspector on a service installation crew. We ran gas lines to new houses as they were being built. They were in all phases of construction but a lot of them were near completion so I would walk through them and check them out. I got to see a lot of really great houses. Many of the homes in subdivisions were standard models offered by the builders but we would also see the ones that were custom designed and those were the really interesting ones. Architect designed homes with special features that were truly unique and one of a kind. I remember one in particular that clearly incorporated Frank Lloyd Wright design elements into it and it was truly magnificent. To have such a house though, one has to be quite wealthy. While I thought I would love to have a house like that back then, I realized that it's not really practical and not attainable unless you are a wealthy person. It's not just the money to design and build it, but then to pay the taxes, insurance, upkeep, etc. is a continuing huge expense. It's nice to dream though.

Personally when you are able to go on tours like this, it can be quite interesting to see what type of homes are out there, and wish you could afford something like that, or just to be able to upgrade your place you live in now to look something like this. I know we have toured many homes from time to time and even gone on the Street of Dreams tours and it makes you really go wow. There are sometimes I look and think that would be nice, and other times I look and go nope... would not do that. But it is still interesting.

A few years ago we toured homes and condos in Florida. Some of them were just gorgeous. We ended up buying a condo about 6 miles from the beach on a golf course. We have lived in our home in the midwest for almost 37 years. I love it because of the location even though it's older. Our daughter has a beautiful home but it's huge and I would hate to clean it. Her home has all the newest lighting and various fixtures. Her home backs up to a creek where the deer and other animals roam all year. Very cozy and nice location. I'm one of those people who is content to own a house and be comfortable so a dream home wasn't something that captured my interest.

When I was ten, my family and I were on vacation, and this time for some reason my maternal grandmother and grandfather was with us. My grandmother wanted to go on a tour of a set of mentions giving free tours. I think it was in North Carolina. I remember the houses being huge and so gorgeous. Of course my young age probably made them seem even more grand, but looking back I can still remember the outstanding architecture. It looked like it too so much time and work.

I imagine they were...and these too. It's funny how things repeat themselves as most of the new home are now styled after Frank Lloyd Wright homes!!!! Like I said three were beautiful...all nice but three that were total standouts..

I would go with a one story instead of the two I have...and that is because of my age!

No I can't say that I have been on a tour of homes but I have been to see prefab or prebuilt homes and most are right nice. I even looked for something small to put on our property for my parents but they're too stubborn to move. But to see the different styles is really neat. I love doing things like that. I do have a dream home but I don't think it'll ever come to a reality though but that's ok but it's a Victorian type of home but modernized inside. I love the huge balconies on the upper floors and the beautiful staircases that a lot of them have plus the wrap around porches.... oh gosh, I just love everything about them! lol

I understand why. I used to think the same about Victorian homes....after living in an older home though I would opt for a newer one! LOL....too many problems with an old one!

I go and visit apartments and houses as i try to sell them. Some are excellent. Its worth dreaming about owning them.Yes, the economy may have resulted in people cutting down on luxuries.I dream of earning more and saving to buy a new house with a wonderful view and good fittings.
