An ad attacking Rep Paul Ryan's Medicare proposal is, according to the creator, to start the discussion on medical care for the elderly. To me what it does is distort the discussion by saying that you have a choice kill Grandma or support the present system. Listening to a spokes[person for the group that made the ad had nothing to offer on how to keep the present system or any way to change it knowing that the system is going broke.

When are these people going to offer a plan. The only plan on the table to save Medicare is the Ryan Plan.

We've been hearing this same old lie from the left for decades. You would think the lefties would be smart enough to not fall for it, time and time again.
I guess you can fool some people all of the time.

It's certainly dramatic but it's pretty much what will happen to the elderly ten years from now if Ryan's plan were passed and put into place. What kind of fool would think people in their sixties, seventies or older would be able to find a private insurance company to sell them coverage for the $8000 per year Ryan proposes giving out in vouchers? How in the world does anyone think those with an average retirement income of around $28,000 - much lower for many - could afford to pay the balance needed for their health care out of their own pocket?
Here's hoping Paul Ryan gets sent home on his ear in 2012. I have a feeling he will!

But the same thing will happen to the elderly ten years from now because with the current system, there won't be any funds to run the program. Already, more cuts are being added through Obamacare. At least, Ryan is trying to maintain at least some quality element to Medicare instead of this one size fits all mentality.

Not really. The government has a way of using extra funds where they are absolutely not required and where they are absolutely unnecessary. Collecting more funds won't help Medicare not even by the longest chance. However, it will fund a completely new study on understanding why cats pee.
