Cynthie! Guess what?

I was chatting to my grand twins yesterday by Skype as they in Qatar. They are recovering from having scarlet fever - I thought that that disease was extinct so was really concerned but they are on the mend (as my GM would have said). Then Cieran said, " Cynthie, guess what?" When I answered what he said that his sister (Jhordann) had used the F word. I showed great surprise but he hastily assured me that it wasn't the adult F word but the children's F word. So I asked him what the children's F word was. He replied that the children's F word was fool Yes, I know that this is a stupid post but it is almost a year since I have seen them and miss them so much. They will be home in about 5 weeks. I just wanted to share it with you. I cannot believe that they will be 5 years old. So to make it a discussion, what cute things have your children/grandchildren said recently?

But you do get a lot sometimes Jhordann and Joelle will be flower girls and Cieran and Zachary will be ring bearers. They will have to share the pillow or whatever it is called. That should be fun. I am losing weight before fitting on Saturday. Just protein - not really healthy but need it off. I am determined to lose 10lb in next 5 weeks. Drinking masses of water. Just water. Alone. Plain water. Same old, same old. So I gave the vodka bottle a sniff when passing

Will email you photos. Still so much to do. Choose programme for service and the flowers for Church - am cutting down dramatically on cost of those!!

Oh, cinthie, your grands are further away than mine are. I have a five year old and two year old granddaughter. The five year old will talk with 'grown up' sounding words in a Shirley Temple like enthusiasm. The two year old still thinks that talking on the phone is "talk to daddy". They are beautiful little girls, as I am sure your grandson and grand daughter are.

My 5 year old scraped his knee playing floor hockey in the driveway yesterday. He was crying so loud as he has never seen so much blood on himself. He did not want anybody touching it, even me because he said it was too painful. After he calmed down a bit, I was able to talk some sense into him. I explained that he is not going to die from it. In fact, it will turn into a hockey battle scar. He liked that, and has been showing everybody his battle scar since.

They actually lived with me from they were 17 months old until they were three whilst their Mom was away working. It was a joy to have them and I miss them dreadfully.Once they were 3 then they could go to school free over there with their Mom as it was included in her pay package. She has full time help and it is best that small children are with their mother. Their father is my eldest son and so they did have him too. Oh yes, they could be a handful at times but double the joy.

My son employed a Nanny who was there from 12 to 7pm 5 days a week and she bathed and cooked and did their washing etc. She was very good and so kind - so basically I had the fun time. It was still hard sometimes but I was proud that my DIL trusted me with them. She came home frequently and would talk to them daily by phone and skype. One more year to go. Then they will be home for good. Now my son visits them at Christmas and Easter. My DIL is fabulous and I love her so very much

It wasn't so much what she said....it was what she did. THey gave me a shepards hook and a plant to hang on it...well she brought it out and had to take me outside to show me how I had to put it in the ground like I wouldn't know! LOL..she often gives me instructions...do I have dummy written on my forehead? Maybe not but it makes her feel important and that's all that matters!

I know exactly what you mean. My eldest ten year old GD seems to think that I cannot do anything without her supervising me. Especially if it is computer related

LOL.. that's funny. I'm reminded of a time when my twins were a little smaller, probably around 3 or 4. They were playing outside and I was inside.. then one of them came in to tattle on the other. Now these days kids will say "He said a bad word, the F word" or something like that. Well in comes my sweet little girl and she says "Mom, Tyler said F***". When they're that little and something that bad comes out of their mouth, I find it really hard not to laugh at them.. and it was even funnier that she was tattling on her brother for saying it, but then she said it herself too! Of course now it's not so cute because they've taught my current 3 year old how to say that stuff.. and he over uses it. He'll go up to everyone and say "Grandpa, F*** you!" "F*** you, Mom". He doesn't realize what he's saying, but I don't like it at all because I know it can hurt people's feelings. It does hurt me a bit, but I blame the older kids for teaching it to him. Thankfully he seems to be getting over that phase because I haven't heard him say that in awhile. Though he is picking up on things I say. One night he was asking the oldest to get him a drink.. and the oldest obliged and headed off to the kitchen to fill his cup. Then here comes my little peanut down the hallway going "Come on!! I don't have all day!"

yes, the older ones love to teach the younger ones what to say! I have a story to tell but we now have a power outage so will have to close down my computer. Your stories are hilarious.

Hi ya Cynth My youngest last week kept on asking what time the school faint was and if we were going to go to the faint, he of course meant fete, bless him haha. The other thing he used to do when he was younger was sing 'Old MacDonalds had a farm' instead of Old McDonald hahahaha
