A friend and I will be travelling for a short vacation in Malaysia and Singapore this August and we're already excited about it. How about you myLotters? When and when are your travels? Is it for business or purely leisure?

I am done with our annual family vacation this year.
We have gone to Davao last March, we did some snorkeling zorbing and the zipline. We have really cool activities there.
Early next year we will be in Boracay courtesy of my brother. Our whole family would be there. We are still looking out for some seat sale fares in the coming days or months so we can save on the fares. It is great to be in a vacation where you can just relax and enjoy the sea and the sand.

Hi sweet_pea! (Is sweet pea one of your favorite vegetables? )
Davao is a beautiful place. That's where I first tried zipline. Zorbing, I have yet to try.
And of course, Boracay is love ! Went there last year and we enjoyed it so much that 2 weeks after that trip, we booked again for this year when there was a promo of Zest Air . If you don't have a place to stay yet, check out Royal Park Hotel. That's where we stayed. Fronting the beach, with Wifi, not too close from the party place if you want a more quiet place. Different rates during off-peak.
Have fun and thanks for sharing!

Hi Manubla!
Nah, I don't like peas unless it's on Ding Dong Snack packs, not the actor! But do you know that a sweet pea in fact is a beautiful flower with striking colors with shades of pink and purple? I found it when I was looking for a picture to place on my avatar. Anyway, I chose sweet pea because I just find it sweet just like me! Although Glorya here knows me way back from high school. (And I thought we can keep our anonymity here!)
I did the zipline with my 5 year old son tied to me. He wasn't at all scared.
I had to scream so loud when we tried the zorbing. I just wish it would end the first time we rolled. Pretty exciting though!
Thanks for the tip on the hotel. It will be our second time to go to Boracay!
The first one wasn't at all enjoyable. It was so windy and we didn't saw the son. It was pretty cloudy that day. Didn't even had a dip on the beach. I just hope I can see the sun in Boracay next year!

Hey, there, my travel buddy! Let's rock Malaysia and Singapore! And then the rest of Asia and then the world! I'm looking forward to this trip. Surely you know all my travels and know that they're all for leisure. Unless, by some lucky stroke I end up with a job that would send me to places!

I do travel often overseas, mostly on my business trips. I have been to Malaysia and Singapore too. Very unique and beautiful countries , with many things to see. For Malaysia, I have only been to the Peninsular. I am looking forward to have the chance to go to East Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak, in the future.

Hi greenline!
I'm currently busy looking for places to stay in both Singapore and Malaysia! I've been to Sabah last March but just to climb Mt. Kinabalu. Like you, I want to come back to explore other places in there especially their nature reserves! I think they're awesome .

I don't think that I will be able to travel this year. My husband and I travelled around in Europe in September/October last year and we spent quite a lot of money on that trip so it will probably take a while before we will be able to travel again. We had a great trip. We started in Greece and afterwards we went to Bulgaria, Romania, Slovakia, Poland and Germany. We visited a lot of beautiful and interesting places. We haven't decided where we want to go next (when we manage to save up the money) It is a difficult choice because there are so many places that we would like to visit

Oh, I would also love to explore the whole world but like you, I must save up to do that. One day, I'd like to go backpacking in Europe . A friend did it and she had tons of fun!
Good to know you had fun! I think travelling is always fun even though sometimes it gets stressful. Thanks for sharing.

I love travelling but I do not have time for it because of my current engagement. But if the opportunity arise I will travel even if it is locally within my country of residence. International travel is quite expensive and not everyone could afford it.

I have more domestic travels than international too. Of course, I want to explore my own country first .
You're right about international travel being expensive. That's why we always wait for airfare seat sales before booking our flights. Believe it or not, I only paid around 13 USD roundtrip airfare for my first international travel! The airline had a promo called Piso fare (Php 1 one way) that's why it was cheap. My next international travel was at around 90 USD.
Good luck and hope you get to travel soon! Thanks for your reply.

In January this year until February I took my 3 year old disabled son and my 18 month old daughter to Colombia with me. Our flight was London to Cartagena De Indias via Madrid and Bogota. We stayed in Cartagena De Indias and in Santa Marta. We went out for days to places of interest. It was for leisure purposes. I have been to Singapore 3 times because it is so lovely. I really enjoyed visiting Malaysia as well. I hope that you and your friend will really enjoy your short vacation.

Hello maximax8! I'm sure your kids had a grand time . During our trip to Sabah Malaysia in March, we also met a couple from London. It was fun to spend time with them. If you enjoyed Singapore and Malaysia, I'm sure we'll also have a blast! I'm excited . Thanks for sharing.

I went to Albania at start of May. I went there for pleasure because there lives my girlfriend. I stayed some days in Tirana, then I moved to Valona for 3 days. I like Albania, they have wonderful landscapes, great sea, leisures for the night, cultural and historical cities and all this for cheap prices. Unfortunately probably this summer I'll have to work and I cannot go there. I hope she could come her to me.

Wow, I believe you had a blast visiting your girlfriend . One ex-pat in the office is from Albania and I have always been curious about the place. Based on your description, it looks like a beautiful place. Hope your GF makes it to your place instead . Thanks for answering.

I live in Brazil, and I love travelling. I always try to spend somedays each year to know at least a new place. My last trip was in February 2011. I went to Porto Seguro with my wife and my boy. It is the place where Portuguese first discoverd Brazil in 1500. There are many beautiful beaches among Porto Seguro, Arraial D'Ajuda, and Trancoso. People are enjoying and relaxing during the day, and going to the party during the night. The Old city center is the most historical importance. There are many colonial buildings that mark back to the 16th century.
I went to Malaysia two years ago, visiting the Petronas twin tower twice but we could not go up to the sky bridge. They have limited quantity of persons per day. The ticket pass is free, but you should go to get it in the queue early in the morning. Otherwise you can not get the ticket. I went there at 10 o clock, and no more ticket, it was finished.

My travels are more often to the Dominican Republic every summer. Though, I do travel to Georgia during Christmas to visit my sisters and my nieces/nephews. And also, I visit Puerto Rico for like a week during the summer to visit relatives who live over there.

Hi crazyj7! How crazy can you get? Just kidding.
That sounds like a good and exciting plan. Say hi to Amsterdam and Netherlands for me.
I've always been curious about Santorini. Have you been there? In one of the local movies in the Philippines, they shot some scenes in Santorini and I think it's beautiful.
