Hi friends Been here in myLot for quite awhile , I'm pretty used to the pattern here. It's definitely someone's prerogative if they want to have more than one identities. But what's not normal if someone has say 10 , 20 or 30 identities on the same program to use it to diss someone. Is this normal or is this web 3.0 latest ....please help to enlighten me because I've yet to join the sinking boat. And another question. Supposedly you find out that someone has been inciting bad comments about your parents , would you keep quiet about it? This one is real life not Internet situation .....would you confront the person or just use sarcastic remarks? Serious answers will be appreciated. Have a great day myLotting friends. "Everybody dies , but not everyone lives." Answer this at your own discretion just in case it gets missing later...

I don't have time to keep up with ONE membership, I would guess if they have more than one, than they have TOOOOO much time on their hands! now, about parents, I would probably confront them, but I'm pretty confrontational so I might not be the best person to take this advice from...

Me too. zed_k4 is the only sole account I have and I'm happy to say that I don't have any other accounts. I would think too ...too much time on their hands , they might as well do something else constructive rather than dissing others. I'm pretty confrontational too. It seems that some people just don't have respect for others. I would never insult anyone's parents even if their children make me angry or whatever. I think it's just a cheap way of getting back at someone's child to insult parents. Thanks Elic ...

1st Question Like most I have only one account per website. I even limit the number of sites I use. Its hard enough handling one account in mylot for instance, handling more than one would just be too hard for me to handle. I don't really get why people use multiple accounts online, nobody knows who you are anyway right? Maybe some people would like to have different personas for the different moods that they have. They think they have a reputation to keep so that they have to make a different identity for their other moods. But then again 10-30 identities are just too much! 2nd Question If you know the person well then it would be good to confront them. Having a serious talk with someone you know could settle a lot of things. If you don't know the person that well, and it does not really affect you or your parents in any way, then just don't mind him/her. there would be no reason for you to go down to their level right?

But what if you know the person well , in the case of my friend whose colleague made a homepage making bedridden jokes and criticizing my dad's friend by creating articles and identities of disability...

Yes , my friend remains silent and thought that the childishness will go away but it keeps on starting whenever there's a trigger effect. Like everything in this world is about them ...if communism behavior is the answer then everyone who is nice to them is just pretending , don't you think so. You can't talk bad about them but they can do on you.

Well thats just sad for the person making the posts. Disability should not be laughed at. For a moment I thought about physical revenge I'm glad your friend is able to keep his patience and not act on his instinct. Talking to the person would be the right move, your friend need to know why his colleague is doing what he's doing. Tell him how he feels about the acts. If the colleague responds in kind, then good if not, and it is really bothering your friend, then further action should be taken.

If someone has more than one ID at the same time that is against the rules, and you need to report them. If you are not sure you can just phrase it that it seems that they are the same people.Send me a link, I am curious. I think I would confront people if they are using untrue statements about your folks.

GG , this is just my suspicions , but I was always thinking like what if my suspicions were right and they are all soliciting under different IDs to exploit whatever reasons they might have. And , and ..what if some popular names are involved too. I mean there are many hearts to consider but if it's done with a bad intent , it must be reported.

stowyk , there's a way to getting around it. If they use different IP addresses , then I don't know if there's any use reporting since myLot won't be able to investigate. Hence , they might go around scot-free.

How could anyone manage so many accounts without being detected by mylot sensitive radar monitor? This is something beyond my comprehension as to how and why people are trying to disorientate the smooth running of this site and to terrorize others. I hope this is not happening and am confident that admin are keeping close eye on people who are trying to game this site. I will make the person who slander my parents pay for his/her actions. No stone will be left unturned and might consider taking legal actions for defamation.

I'm sure the admins are keeping a close watch too , zandi. Perhaps some are compromising the site right under our noses and hopefully myLot will detect those spammy accounts. As for the parents thingy , I have heard of things like that too ... so many news around the world we just have to read on papers.

We did have a neighbor who made nasty comments about my mom. I was really mad about it, but I didn't do or say anything. And really, you know somebody else's opinion of you is none of your business anyway, unless what they're doing is causing problems for them with other people. Then I'd step in and make sure everybody knows it's not true.

I noticed this exact thing just about 2 years ago...The person had 11 accounts no less!!! As strange as it may sound, we ALL leave virtual fingerprints!!! If your grammar isn't very good...it will NOT be any better under the "new" identity. If you misspell certain words, you won't change the spelling under the "new" identity. The person I noticed with the 11 identities would start a discussion, then one of his alter egos would attack him & they would argue back & forth for several rounds. Then the second alter ego would jump in & take a side. I didn't see where he was attacking other myLot members, but he WAS breaking myLot's rules!!! So, I sent a report to Admin requesting they check the suspected accounts. Sure enough, ALL the accounts in question began to drop off like flies. Eventually ALL the accounts were gone!!! The dedicated members of myLot are MUCH SMARTER than scammers coming in give us credit for being!!! We notice the tiniest little misstep by those starting to scam us!!!! Now to the person bad mouthing my parents, I'd most DEFINITELY confront them. They'd be apologizing to me in front of my friends & more than likely, they would be apologizing to my parents also!!! You might get away with bad mouthing me; but you do NOT touch my family!!!!

Actually you are right ... I don't know how you manage to detect them all but you did , so you are really something Marissa ...hihi ... Kind of thinking of it , it's their prerogative to do anything as long as they don't go around insulting people under broad daylight. I mean it's easy to know .. and it just gives a clueless thought each time... like it's tiring to do that , right honestly. I only have the energy to do so much with one account , but that's just us right hon.. Anyway have a super duper Friday (it's Friday morning here in Sg) ..and wherever you are , take care aite..

If someone was spreading Lies about my parents I would like to go Gangster . I would like to have them meet with a few of my Friends and they would discuss things, i.e. My goons would break their legs. But I don't have any of those type of friendsSo I would just ignore it.

i'm curious to know what brought this on. seriously, 10..20..30 identities? that's crazy. i couldn't even be active with one account. and if ever i changed my account, i'll get myself a new username without my name on it. perhaps the person or people doing this has too much time on his/her hands, or a score to settle, or a walking vendetta, or simply thought he/she could make more money out of that crazy scheme. i hope none from my friends' list is doing that. as for the other question, i'm not confrontational. but if i heard it out of the horse's mouth himself, then he should be prepared for what's coming to him. any rude or bad comments to my parents behind their backs is not acceptable. if any person has a problem with my parents, i would appreciate it if they tell my parents about it. to their face no less. not behind their backs. backstabbing is a sign of cowardice, envy and sourgraping. i am usually quiet, but i can play on sarcasm too if any of my loved ones is being hit by unjust comments. now, is this serious enough of an answer? dear you're so serious and it's still early enough in the morning in my timezone. hehe

insult to any person is disrespectful. insult to anyone's parents is simply a disgrace. my grandpa would turn over in his grave if any of his grandchildren did that. it's such a low blow if you ask me. hypothetically, if the multiple accounts and identities is just to diss out somebody, that is mean and sick and pitiful.

Something serious for a change ... like I've been humoring the past few days so I thought of changing the scene for awhile. Let's play devil's advocate. Supposedly the person thinks that by doing that they can get back to whoever they want to , are they just obsessed with the said person in general? Like ... day in and day out ...writing articles or dissing this person just to satisfy his personal vendetta which is unfounded if you ask me. I am imaginative. Well , but not really ..you can sit and observe and you'll see the same pattern over and over ..the same old' , same old antics all over it's tiring to see not for me but for whoever. Anyway , yeah no one should insult others parents isn't it. So there's a basis for anger and backlash that the person asks for should they do that... isn't it logical. So don't blame others if others criticize you back because parents insulting is no-no..no style at all. Reflects on the type of person someone is ...

Yes ....myles ...that's just sick and pitiful and takes hypocrisy to a whole new level , especially when they appear to be nice whenever you are in front of them. My grandpa would cry too , if he were alive. Bless his soul...

Wow, nobody should mess with the reputation of your parents and then let you find out about it anyway. That is dumb. I guess in that situation if I liked my parents (and if they were alive) I would drop that someone pretty fast. I wouldn't be sarcastic. I'd just cut those people out of my life. Like now they are invisible.

Thanks drannhh ... My friend respects his colleague so it's kind of surprising why the homepage is done in such a way ...he really doesn't understand why.

10, 20, 30 identities?? lol =D If that's true, that person must have serious multi split personalities!! haha Why would one want to create so many identities, unless they dun feel confident about themselves?? To your serious question, parents are the ones bringing us to this world. They are the greatest and they deserved the best protection from us, children. Even if what others said are truth, we ought to protect our parents. What we can do is rebute them, but leave their parents out of it. It's not fair to say something bad about someone, or behind someone's back when they dun even know what's going on, and have no chance to clear it up

Ya lor don't know why ... let them be... as long as they are happy and don't disturb me can already.. Ya bro ...we should love our parents because they are the ones to bring us into this world. Never mind , let people say what they want. But to insult a disabled person ...even in article writings or forum persona if any ..that's not nice. It's not right but it's OK..... Thanks bro.

I dont know how one could get away with having multiple id's on here...Especially if they share the same paypal address...the same email address or even the same computer - the IP address and machines MAC address would be the same. I've seen people of the same household be in trouble for using the same computer in the past!

I think that's understandable if it's the same household , but as long as that's not the same persons. However , for someone to be using different IP addresses , they might be able to compromise the situation..that's something to think about then.

hello zed, If ever there is one person having 10,20 or 30 accounts here and commenting to it's own topic/disc -i might think there's something wrong with that person. I couldn't imagine how that person enjoyed commenting to his/her ownself not to mention opposing to it's own topic/discs . I leave to any psychologists how to rate that kind of person. Regarding the person saying bad comments to my parents-i won't have any second thought of confronting that person and if he/she says something bad about my parents in front of me- i would surely give him/her a big punch straight to his/her face-sure to make that person knock off (hmpf!) Ok,time out,i am not a war freak-but never ever say a bad word against my parents, not on my face. peace

Yeah ... like in my Mother Tongue , "Tak orang tak kita" .. which translates to something like if you can feel hurt I can feel hurt too. Supposedly someone says about their sibling or parents , they would definitely be sensitive about it too. No doubt about it. I just don't see how someone could say something and say OK I'm just kidding I have a glib tongue but when others say something back they would make that person enemies for life...or be too wary of that person. I'm sick and tired of this tug of war situations ...be done with it , just don't care anymore. If really don't like then thank you very much sorry for not being in par to your expectation. I keep telling my friend to ignore but the homepage thingy is the worst of all...criticizing a disabled person or making joke out of his situation that's not funny at all. About the accounts , I think anyone shouldn't bother if it's just for making money , then good ..because there's something good out of it. But if it's creating online personas to poke fun , be sarcastic and all that , it's kind of funny really. Like why waste all the bandwidth when you can just talk it out one to one ..and just forgive and forget isn't it. Don't create something out of a molehill , I'd say. Thanks for coming.

@jaiho... i could just imagine you throwing a mean punch. a very mean one. @zed... i almost always forget that you are asian. hehe but looking at the words in your local tongue... it resembles a lot in bahasa indonesia. on my own, i can make out the words separately, but i can't make a sense if i translate that by myself. lol

What good will those added account for one's self be for? Instead of typing and earning for just one account and be faster with it, those accounts can pull down the time. For giving bad comments on my parents, surely i would confront them. But not here at Mylot, where others could read them, but in person. I would like to see their faces as i confront them.

Yeah no one should confront others in myLot ..anyway I don't think my friend will bear grudges , he'll just let this one slide just like he always do , with good-nature.. The identity thingy yeah I wonder why too. If it's for making money , then well ..good. All the best.
