Is Obama doing a good job?

What do you think? He's had time to either prove he does what he promises or is just another politico, looking out for the interests that got him into office. Has Obama followed through and championed the causes of the working man and the down trodden or is he simply full of hot air?

I already know this is going to come across as if I'm a hard right Obama basher. But that just is what it is; nothing to be done about that. If one were to judge the man on how he carried himself and what he promised pre-Presidency, the only way to grade him would be an F. Seriously. How could one make the case for any other grade but an F? He was supposedly the "hope" and "change" America needed, a new type of politician, above the name-calling and dirty tactics; the evolution of what an American politician should be - highly intelligent, well-spoken, likeable, ushering in an era of complete transparency in politics and single-handedly changing the way Washington operates. President Obama, his policies aside, is not new at all. He's everything cynical people loathe about politics. He's mean, bitter, nasty, secretive, uberpartisan, smug, highbrow, and matching his actions to his words is like hitting $100 on a scratcher - good luck! His biggest talent is being well-spoken and likeable enough that a lot of people believe the rhetoric and ignore the action. And he has the advantage of Bush being one of the most hated people on the plant. Yearbooks even list Bush alongside Hitler as one of the worst people in history! So the fact Obama's not Bush is still earning him a lot of points with some people. I still hear the "Bush's mess" line, but after two years and billions upon billions spent by Obama to supposedly stimulate the economy and create jobs and free up lending and get us back on track, I have to say his policies have been failures. The best point pro-Obama people are able to make is a theoretical point. They claim that without the big-spending stimulus, we would have fallen on even harder times. That might be true. But it's impossible to tell. It's theory. The facts: too many people are still out of work, too many people are still at each other's throats, the idea of "racism" has been taken up 10 notches, there's no trust factor with an administration that seems to be pro-union but anti-business. He earns an A+ for being a politician, in my estimation. But he's a failure at being the type of President he said he would be.

He is full of hot air. He missed the boat on America and what she stands for. We are told, don't worry, big government will take care of you. That is NOT what our Nation was created for. In fact, we are a country of self sufficiency. That is what has made us so great. We have always been "the GREATEST nation" now he apologizes to the world. It makes no sense. He is over inflating government at a time when we should be cutting it back! Makes no sense.

"Over inflating government" and "the GREATEST nation" would seem to be more compatible then opposites.

over inflated government is NOT what made this Nation great. Over inflated government makes people laze and dependent. Nothing great in that.

In some ways he has been very successful. The Unions control two of the three major Auto Companies. Congress voted down a Cap and Trade Program and he is talking about having the EPA mandate what Congress would not put into law. Government is growing and taking more of the revenue to run it. The government is spending as much money as they can borrow. If this is what you want more government control and more taxes then he is doing a good job. If on the other hand you want to see people working and producing then his record is terrible.

Too bad we couldn't get Unions in charge of the banks, maybe they wouldn't be running us into the ground. If you want to see more people "working and producing" then get rid of bonus pay structures that create incentives for driving companies into ruin. Why don't we blame Coroporate America for the high unemployment? Why do we expect the government to "make" them hire people? As far as Obama. His record is no worse than anyone elses on those fronts, except the economy has slowly begun improving since he took office. I don't think that is his to claim, but you definitely can't put the economy in his negative column.

He is doing the exact same job as the last guy we had. I honestly see no difference between him and Bush. We are still in a deeply troubling economic situation. We still have two wars...make that 3 now actually. We still have all the liberty robbing security policies in place (which strangely enough he posed when the last guy was president) and states are still being bullied right out of their constitutional sovereignty by the federal government. I say this a lot, but how is it we can vote for one of the same two parties year after year and some how still manage to call it "change"?

I guess he lost all of my respect when he bashed my country publicly in my country and abroad. He has dissed all of our Allies and befriended our enemies. You cannot say that of previous presidents. His foreign policy sucks. He has given billions of dollars to our enemies and now they are getting ready to band together with Iran...Fun. As far as the Domestic policies go...he promised change. What has changed? We are continuing to decline and all he can do is blame everything on Bush. Hussein O has been in office how long?, and he is still blaming everything on Bush. When is even one of his "changes" going to improve things?

He's doing a job. Can't really call it good or bad. I imagine it is hard to get anything done as one man, even the POTUS, but he seems to be missing out on alot of leadership opportunities. I don't know if it is a fair answer to the question, but I don't think anybody else would be doing much better.

I agree that "No drama Obama" is missing out on opportunities but he is cautious in taking stands that would make him from good and far-sighted to great. I hope the coming months he takes some chances and fight the instinct to be too careful.
