Hello fellow lotters and online earners. I have been using paypal as a payment processor for my online earnings. I feel that it is safer than any other. And even my earnings here in mylot directly goes to paypal (it's the only allowed processor?)... Just a few minutes back, I read a post on facebook, prompted by my friend, saying that an account of her friend have been hacked, and his money on paypal were transferred to other person's account, plus a password has been changed. He immediately logged in to his paypal account but he cant. The password change has been successful. thanks to that great hacker. Since he's still able to use his primary email, he immediately requested change in password and security questions. He was able to save his email but didn't get back the money he lost on paypal. He sent a dispute to paypal, the case was resolved in favor of the recipient. For some reasons he still don't figure out. Waaaaaah, it's really scary, specially for those who used their credit cards linked to their paypal account to be verified. What the.... So fellow lotters, be careful... if you want to read the thread here it is. That's too bad! I heard paypal being hacked before and in fact that user was my friend and he's only 13 years old. Paypal asked him for proof of billing but he couldn't send any since he's underage and he faked his age. He lost only $15! I couldn't afford to lose any money in my paypal account so I do change my password there regularly and I'm careful in filling up online forms that require my email address.

Yes we shouldn't subject ourselves to hackers. So we need to do something about it ourselves and be very careful with our transactions.

True. Prevention is better than cure as they say. We have to observe precautionary measures before it's too late. It's hard to go through tedious compliance with dispute requirements. So we better save ourselves from that stressing situation.

This is definitely scary. I also use PAYPAL, mostly as a payment method so far. I have earned online, but very little so far. Most of the time, it has a zero balance. I'm curious how much he had lost and how much he has been to recover.

WOW, Very lucky nothing worse happen... PayPal is a weird company, I wish there was a better alternative. First of all, PayPal While its a Bank, Right? Did you know it is not really a Bank and does not have to follow the exact guidelines a bank does. I also bet if your friend had a few hundred bucks in his paypal account and this guy took the money, and deposited into one of his other hacked Paypal accounts and if he had a PayPal Debt Card and was able to withdrawal the money. I would bet the Farm PayPal would say tough cookies change your password and so on. They would help him so the attacks stop but for the money lost, He would never see it again. Personally I am NOT a fan of PayPal. If your an eBay Seller, You should AT THE VERY LEAST BE EXTRA CAREFUL WITH THEM. THE LAST CEO OF eBay REALLY DID A 'GREAT' JOB WITH THE COMPANY HA HA HA.... ITS SAD SHE RAN EBay INTO THE GROUND TO THE POINT THEY AREN'T GONNA BE ABLE TO RECOVER. Someone could buy a plasma Television on eBay, 3 Days later say this television is giving me a headache I want my money back. Dont be naive this has happen before this is one of the reasons I don't use eBay anymore and this is coming from a PowerSeller. Now Sellers can NOT leave Negatives ONLY Buyers can... Why Meg Whitman (She was the CEO at the time, and she was the one who ran it into the ground... This is not my opinion check the stocks 2 months before she became the CEO and Check them now... End of Story. Anyways that person could fill the box up with Sand and keep the TV and as long as the guy provides a tracking number its fine... How would you feel you open the box expecting a brand new plasma tv and its a box 1/4 full of Sand. There are loads upon loads of alternatives to eBay, Which I am looking into once I find the best one I will post it on here and post it on my blog which Im hoping will be finished at the end of this month guys. Be Safe on eBay Guys, The people who run that site dont even know if they are coming or going. I personally avoid eBay like the plague its not like it was 5-10 years ago unfortunately.... THANKS MEG WHITMAN THANK GOD SHE NEVER WON A SEAT IN CALIFORNIA ELECTION WOOHOO!!!

this is one of the many reasons why mylot exists. I too have been informed in a lot of things online and offline through mylot. We're socializing while getting updates from the offline world.
