Finally, three weeks later I am over that cold I caught. Please give this some thought and take your vit. C and B complex to keep your immune system up and running. Who can afford three weeks of recovery time from just a cold?

Im so sorry you have been having that cold for the past three weeks. My! thats a long time!! Whenever I know I will be surrounded by people having a cold or that I feel the slightest start of a cold, I take AIRBORNE and that has kept me cold free ever since I started using it 10 yrs ago. You might want to have some handy and next time you feel like you "might" catch a cold...right away take one and then take another one a few hours later. You'll be fine. Heres what Im talking about: You can get it at Walmart!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uSD4vsh1zDA

When I had pneumonia back in the winter, it took me a couple weeks to get over it and I really didn't know if I was going to make it through. I've been lucky in that I don't get sick on a regular basis. However, when I get sick I get really sick. I spent an evening in the emergency room and then a week at home trying to recover while also taking care of the kids. It took me a full six days before I even felt like leaving the house and that is a really long time for me.

I'm so glad you're better! Those colds really sap our strength. I try to take good care of myself and keep my immune system strong and so far it's working!

It would probably take me longer than that if it was a three week bug. I would have to push myself...I couldn't be out of work that long. I am glad to hear you are better now.

Wow, after a bout like that with the common colds, your motto should be " Never Again" I mean at least try, yes time to shop for food supplements that would boost the immune system besides vitamin C, just don't forget to ask the doctor if it has no contra indications with other medicines you are taking or if you do not have an allergy, God bless Pat

I just always work through it. It is difficult but no one can take that amount of time off. It is just a terrible situation to be in. Its better to try lots of preventative methods.

I am glad you finally feel recovered. I will run go take my vitamins in a minute. I had not had a cold for a long time, but got one this spring as well. They seem to be particularly virulent.

It might just be a cold but it can stubbornly stay with a person for a longer period of time especially when the defense mechanism in the body is weak. Vitamin C do wonders to relieve from further attack.

I am currently having a bout of cold as well, all due to this stupid cold winter weather. I have been producing this thick gooey mucus/phlegm for the past few days that made me feel really sick; and worse of all I still have to go to work! I have been taking those cold and flu tablets with the decongestant and antihistamine in them - they seem to work fine for an hour or two but then the symptoms come back again, probably due to me running around at work and not having the time to sit or lie down to rest. Hmm, maybe it's time to consider taking Vitamin C, Zinc tablets or Echinacea.......
