A Confession. To all Mylotters!

I joined Mylot around a month ago and today I have a confession to make. I joined this website with the sole idea or determination to make money online. But the way people help each other out on Mylot and reply promptly with the intention to help others out is simply fantastic.
I respect all the senior members here, who've guided me throughout and all the friends out here on Mylot. We may never get to see each other in real life, but I still feel that we really share a bond among us. When one of my friends or a person I know replies to a discussion, it delights me and I immediately go through the discussion and sometimes, I take so much interest in it, that I even forget what I was about to reply! We are united here, breaking all barriers of religion, country, caste, creed, sect, color, political views and ideological differences. Mylot has really made a difference in my life already, as I've started enjoying being on Mylot.
I no longer have the intention to make huge money here, but I feel that the money that we get is just an incentive to make friends! I have seen many with similar interests, or with extremely dissimilar viewpoints than me. It has really helped me learn a lot from all of you. I wonder what it feels like to be a senior member, Like having around 20000 posts to your name and retracing the journey when you first joined Mylot.
To conclude with, I thank the admin of Mylot and all the technical support crew who have up-kept the reputation of this website. I love all my fellow Mylotters. I hope to meet you some day, when we sit along and have a chat about our life in the real world and life on Mylot. From the bottom of my heart, I wish God bless you all!

MyLot changes things over time. It gives you a different perspective on so many things and you realise that we could all get on offline too. Sad that we don't!
I love seeing the new members join, ask about earning here, and then sometime later realise, just like you did, that earnings are secondary and a huge bonus on top of all the other positives here

Dear mysdianait, this comment isn't generic, but personally to you. When I meant "senior members guiding me", I had you in my mind, and most certainly knew that you would reply to this discussion of mine too! I remember, around two weeks back, I went around commenting on everyone who posted links on mylot. You kept following me and correcting me. It was like a mini catch-me-if-you-can kinda game! Well, that's what made me realize that there are really people who care for others. I respect you a lot, mysdianait, you are impeccable ! I am starting to forget the money factor over here, and I guess people like you will never cash out at all !! Loads of love :)

It has happened before with other users and I seem to have some sort of sixth sense and chase the ones that I feel will be worthwhile chasing because they are going to get it right. You didn't disappoint either!
Oh I'm absolutely not impeccable 
It took me a while to get it right but I certainly enjoy helping out as many new users as I can so that they can enjoy theit time here as much as I and many others do! My earnings are sitting there and one day I will use them when I visit my sister in US. Earningis just a bonus for me here. It's all of the other aspects that make it so worthwhile.
I know you will become one of those who will be here for a long, long time and who knows that it will then be you playing catch-me-if-you-can with the new users then!

I have a confession to make as well though... this may sound really shameful, maybe some will not be too happy with me because of this, but I will say it. I hope no one will take it against me. My main purpose here is still... to make some money online. I don't expect anything huge. And I do enjoy being able to share my thoughts and like the opportunity to ask for advice or help or opinions. But my main purpose really is still to earn money. I will not pretend it is not... I hope you all will understand... =/

No-one will be annoyed with you and if they are, then they shouldn't be! MyLot gives us many choices and it is up to each one of us to make the personal choice which suits us best. We should each respect the choice of others!

WOw, how thoughtful and emotional your discussion could be here. Well, I probably would agree with your thought here. We are definitely united even though many differences we have. I appreciate people's effort here and there and help me to grow up from mylot too. Besides the money incentive, I really enjoy your guys be my company here.

Hi there,
What a lovely open and honest discussion. Absolutely correct as I was searching one day online for an article writing site and came across an article which lead me to believe myLot was an article earning site which supposedly was so leaniant and we could earn for virtually writing loads of articles.
Too funny, as it did not take me long to realize it was not an article writing site and that it was a forum. I held back a bit and actually for three months because I was not interested. So I did log in everyday and read a lot hoping to see if my interest would spark. Well it did and here I am for one year and enjoying the site daily.
I am always pleased to see pleased members with myLot because it gives us all a reason to share experiences.
I never thought it would be possible that for 8 months now I could be well over 20,000 participation points. lol But here we are and am glad to read your discussion.

You are right, you can not just simply turn your back in mylotting because you will feel that you have left something very important and that is your circle of friends. It is like a diary that you can unload your heaviness,share your feelings,ask for an advise, shout out loud your pressures,and other emotions. And yes, I love the good oldies here. Be careful in saying we are oldies because we are young at heart my son

Good! This is what social networking sites are all about. Creating interaction and sharing amongst people. Kudos to the developers of myLot. A nice site indeed to share and interact. It really starts from the developers. When they shaared the profits that they will be getting from establishing this site, it became the foundation of the identity of myLot! Happy sharing to all!

hi gksmartkid you really are a smart kid lol thanks for a lovely discussion and I as a senior member here, in the lead in fact with over forty thousand points feel about mylot a lot like you do. I have made some of the nicest and dearest friends on mylot and have enjoyed and still enjoy responding to them all and hope to keep up as a senior citizen of the female king for a few more years at least. hurray to myhlot and all my fellow mylotters.

Whoever referred you here perhaps emphasised on the possibility of earning good amounts here and I am glad that you have now realised that what we get here is more than money. I am sure when you spread the word around about myLot you will give the correct picture.

That's the way to go. I have seen so many newbies here who have joined solely with the idea of earning. This is not a job that one expects to be paid tangible amounts but as you have rightly discovered it is all what you have outlined in your topic!

I actually found Mylot while I was searching for something else on the internet. Now whenever I tell anyone about Mylot, I tell all the good points first, and then spice it up with "What's more, you are paid a few cents for having fun". I dunno if that's the right way to put it, but I want my referrals too to enjoy here, rather than simply intend to make money.

That is what kept me from sticking with mylot. It is a very interactive site where one can learn and get help. Make new friends and sometimes get to see these new found friends if they live close by. I miss some of the mylot members here that I no longer see, wish they'd come back, i do miss them a lot and they make my mylotting time fun.

Hey candyfairy, it's sad that people leave mylot abruptly. It feels bad when you have that 'empty' feeling when friends leave you, especially, you have this selfless feeling to friends you make online. Yet, I wish that those who are still here continue to be here as long as possible!

Indeed there are many of us my friend who try and make travelling on myLot a happy voyage for as many as we can as soon as we can!
I had particular 'dealings' with this user and my friends possibly did not spot him when I did and that is why he references our encounter

Hey ravisivan, I'm sorry if I failed to include others in my comment as well. Also, the Mylot community is really inviting. So I'm not going anywhere away from it and here to stay. As mysdianait rightly pointed out, we had some funny 'dealings'. I haven't encountered the others as frequently as mysdianait, and it quite seems she's behind me! LOL!! I really wish I could use those smileys on Mylot now! But I'm catching up fast and I'll soon be there!! Cheers :)

I agree with most of what you say, I had similar thoughts to you but during my first days here I saw Mylot is much more than money.
I keep thinking of it as a huge forum with hundreds of thousands of participants, most of whom are willing to help or express their opinion on what you want to know.
I wish Mylot keeps it this way for long.

When i signed up here ,mainly it is because of the earning.
Later i realized i was hooked up,here not for the reason of earning,but gaining friends.
I can say this is really a great site to know real friends-real friends in it's true essence and spirit.

Yes, jaiho2009, maybe I don't post many discussions or comments, but I just love to read others' comments on many issues. I get many friend requests, and I like to answer to their discussions and find out more about them. Mylot is one wonderful concept :)

I had joined initally for the same reason, but now I come on here to see what is going on and to do some research. I love making friends on here and being able to seek advice. I am also looking for extra ways to suppliment my income and have a few places where I do that. I come on here to post comments and ocassioanlly ask questions on the projects I am doing. I also come on here to find out how to save money because of my financial situation. This is a great site.

Yes i totally agree with you that money is just secondary here in mylot. It's just an added benefit from the main objective, which is sharing and getting views from different people all over the world.
When i first joined mylot i never thought i'll ever get paid or if i'll ever reach $10. When i did and got paid i was just so happy it's like receiving a reward for being a good member. Yes, money is a reward in mylot for sharing your ideas and this is not a site that can be your primary source of income.

I think you should not blame yourself if you encountered and joined Mylot becuase of the potential earnings. I am sure almost all members here have that initial intention of earning lots of money and cashing out every month. And I'm sure that most of the members who joined learned to love mylot and all it offers.
Like you, I wanted to earn fast here. But I learned overtime that earning is only a plus. I have been here for quite a while and I picked and shared up many experience from people who I don't know or never met. I guess that is the beauty of online discussion, you never know what you are going to encounter.
In a sense, mylot is more than a paying site. It's a site where you can share and you can help other people by simply responding to discussion or post a discussion that you feel that will relate to others.
I hope that you remain here while other newbie members go out when they realized that they can't make a quick buck here (well, that's the description of any legit online job). Remember, quality is appreciated here.

Welcome to mylot. I wish you success in this website and continue to abide by the rules. It is not so easy to make money on mylot. However, you will continue to learn from others and also make friends. I have tried to make better money on mylot but is not coming despite all my effort. but I am still happy that I have made some friends so far.
