1 Hour on the Treadmill!

I'm so proud of myself! I was able to alternate between walking and jogging on the treadmill today for a whole hour. I started using my treadmill 2 days ago and I would only last 30 minutes on it. I was so disappointed in myself because I feel that 30 minutes is not enough time to burn enough calories, especially when I have so much weight to lose. Should I keep on alternating between walking and jogging or is just jogging better?

You don't worry about that.Everything need follow in order and advance step by step. You start to use it only two days.In my opinion, for losing weight,You must take proper diet besides get plenty of exercise, especially take no midnight snack as far as possible..

I have changed my diet by baking my food instead of frying it and I add a lot of vegetables to my food. I never knew how much I loved mushrooms and green bell peppers, lol! I never snack at midnight so that's no problem, I just eat too much fatty food.

Congratulations! I hope you maintain your exercise regimen. You will find that as you go along, your endurance will improve the more you exercise, or in your case, run. I wouldn't be surprised if you find yourself running more than an hour in a few weeks or so. Personally, I do not like running. I prefer brisk walking better. Of course, running would burn more calories since it is a high-impact activity. This is recommended if you have a high fitness and endurance level. But for most people who are just starting on exercise, it is better to start with brisk walking and increase intensity as fitness level goes higher. Just continue exercising and I hope you achieve your weight loss goal.

Thanks so much! I can't wait to start running because I hear people get runner's high which makes them get addicted to running. I would love to get that! It will keep me on track with the exercising. :)

Congratulations, that's a wonderful achievement. I wish that I could afford a treadmill; however there is no space in my bedroom and nowhere in the rest of the house that it would fit. I am a strong believer that walking is the best exercise, and I would love to be able to do that while I was watching my favourite television shows as it really does help to take your mind off the fact that you're exercising so you're able to burn more calories than you usually would. Alternating is a good way of working; you'd find that if you just jogged, you would get tired more quickly than if you alternated, meaning that you would burn more calories overall.
