Do music calm down your frustrations?

Hi mylotters. No doubt nobody will notice me these days. I'd been OFF from mylot, first due to vacations and work and hopefully I'm forgiven! :) Switching on my samsung tab, it makes a great deal of peace and harmony. Can't believed the musics, and the sound system working so greatly all together! I'm moving my body and shoulder from left to right and feeling rather great. Musics helps to ease my stresses. Good Lord... Been sooo damn long I have had the earphones stucking to my good pair of ears. :)

Hi jacklintan Nope you are not forgiven, now you owe us all several discussions. , so kidding. Glad to see you back. Yes there is something about music that can really make and or break my mood. See I love music and must listen to it almost daily. There are many times, especially during stressful moments that music will get me to forget and escape so many frustrations. Therefore, for me one ear is usually plugged into the ear phone, as I need the other one to hear anything else around me. lol

@ jacklintan hwg is always working. lol I have been doing okay, nothing to complain outside of the usual whoos. I have been a music fan for years and do prefer it over TV, while under stress. TV for some reason makes me think. lol @shorty - welcome to myLot! Yes I do agree that music can certainly get me in great spirits and instantly make my mood a very happy one.

Yea, yea, I forgive you cause you having vacation is very important, lol! I was absent for 4 days as well. Busy time of the year for me, hehe! Now back to the discussion. I would have to say that music is my life. I listen to them every morning on the radio while driving - Red FM. Everyday I will listen to Rudy and Jeremy on the Breakfast Show. Listening to them would always put a smile on my face. Those two are really funny and they always make my day without fail. Sometimes at night, I would have my earplugs in my ears while lying in bed. I would listen to the music until I fall asleep. It does help to calm our minds. And sometimes watching a movie on DVD will also help calm my frustrations.

Me "diam"? Maybe because I very seldom post new discussion unless I need advice on something. I very much prefer to respond to discussions.

Depends on the kind or genre of music you're listening to. Like for me, hearing instrumentals play brings the best of my thinking abilities. It helps create an environment conducive for bringing about harmony of thoughts. But warning though, more than 2 hours of consistent usage of earphones my alter your eardrums health. just saying.

Music really does have an effect on your mood, and it works differently for everyone. What type of music is making you feel this way? I don't personally listen to music very often when I'm upset, though. As for me, I just like to think a lot, and sort out my problem in a number of ways to figure out my true feelings. It helps me avoid self denial, when I ask myself what I'm really feeling. Sometimes I'm afraid to admit why something is bothering me, and sometimes when I'm able to pinpoint it, I feel a little better. A lot of people I know like to listen to heavy, angry songs when they're upset because it reflects their feelings. But I usually listen to Marilyn Manson when I'm happy, because it gets me all pumped up and excited. Other people listen to slow songs, or love songs, like Barry White or Luther Vandross. Which, of course, could be very serene and calming.

Samsung tab...whew! I would definitely feel good just by owning one. Hehe! As for music, it does help uplift my mood sometimes, although I am not really a music person. There are just times when a particular music or genre of songs can do the trick.

I don't listen to music very often, but when I do listen to music and I am stressed or something, I find that it does help me calm down. I do find that music will affect your mood, whether you're frustrated or not.

Hello. Yes, music does help to calm the frustration beast. I think you were forgiven. lol Easing stressers by classical music is nice. And I get in the mood for classic rock most of the time and it is relaxing. My computer's sound system isn't that bad and I enjoy the music.

Music does wonders for my peace of mind! After I have cooked my meal in the evenings I dig out my ipod touch, don the headphones and listen to my favourite music and this can be anything from dinner jazz to some easy listening, very nice. This is what music does to you, it makes you feel great inside and in relation to your mind? Well anything unnecessary is forgotton for a short while! When I'm out cycling I love listening to music as well and this helps me to relax whilst I am cycling as there can be a lot of stress and pressure when out on the road. Without music I think the world would quickly go downhill and then we would have to start all over again! Andrew

Listening to certain music does help me calm down. There are certain types of songs like Christian pop which makes me motivated to work and be inspired, classical music which also helps me calm down and fast/pop or dance music which makes me pumped up whenever I work out or simply just to keep me awake while driving. Music has really been associated in my lifestyle and it has always been my best buddy everyday.
