What do you generally look for while rating someones post the best response? I generally do have a few rules, 1. The discussion has to be replied at least by 10 people, with 10 meaningful response, not just a yes or no, cause you know, that way i think i am being fair to whatever new posts coming on the way. 2. The post should be written in simple yet decent English. 3. The response should be informative. 4. Has to express one's view. I recently did a few best responses, and i had a hard time picking, most of the posters here are good with their response! its awesome! so anyway what about you? do you pick best responses? if yes what exactly do you look for in the post before choosing one? do share! thanks.

Hi rock i give BR to the user who is the nearest to the solution of my disussion. I don't see the language as i know there are many users for whom ENGLISH is not their language. For me the idea is to be different & more appropriate. It depends on the number of responses & time also.I feel once you get 10 responses then you should assume the maximum options( solutions) you have received now & you ahould now select BR or if you dont get it then you should wait for 5~6 days & then select BR.

i agree that English is not everyone's language, but it's not that hard to type in understandable English, that's what i look for, as long its understandable its all good for me, Thanks for your input.

Hi rock but one should not make it a criteria to rate or give BR i feel may be i am wrong as this is my opinion.

Simple! just award the best response to the response which gave the most insight and something for you and the other people to learn. Also, a good grammar and elaborate explanation should be noted. The clarity of the message of the response and its relevance with the topic at hand. It should go like this for me: 50% relevance 10% grammar 30% clarity 10% impact Relevance pertains to the topic, what he shared and what you can learn from the response. Grammar of course makes up for aesthetic in the construction of the response. It adds good knowledge of grammar too to the reader. Clarity makes up on how well he can explain or illustrate wht he wants to say. Impact can be checked on the style of delivery. Maybe he adds humor to be interesting, or uses some metaphors that most people can relate. That's pretty much what I try to look for to give out the best response rating. I hope this can be helpful for you to get an idea on how to rate.

Thanks at that! Good to know my criteria of rating is interesting enough. The advantage of adding the humor in impact is when your discussion is full of such same kind of responses. The similar best responses will be set apart by the impact criteria or sense of humor which will lead to having the best response there is.

I always give the BR mark to a response that i feel gives the best idea. A response that i feel fits to the topic that i started . Best response doesn't mean having the longest response, but even the shortest response can be the best one-being wrapped up and direct with meaningful words. have a good day

Firstly, I would pick one that does correspond to my discussion. Then I would have to look at the information that is provided ... whether the information is sufficient to what I am seeking for. And I only pick the best response when I feel that no one else is going to respond to my discussion anymore.

yup, information is the most important part, so that's why i gave the best response to those were informative besides just answering the questions. anyways thanks for your input.

Getting (or giving) a Best Response doesn't help our earnings at all but getting positive ratings does, so you should always try to give the best response you can so that people rate you positively and, perhaps, the discussion owner will also give you Best Response.

I haven't selected a best response yet for the discussions that I started. Thanks for this discussion I just knew it. If i haven't read it, I shouldn't have known. I'm going to my criteria too.

I pick a best response when one of them is really better than the rest. That icludes teaching me somrthing I don´t know or making me see something from another point of view. I don´t worry about th perfection of the English as it is an international sites and many of us have another language as our native tongue.

If and when from amongst the responses, even if they are not that many yet, gives me an answer that truly satisfies me , then i would rate it as best response. They may all be the same in some aspect but there is one distinct answer in addition to the same responses.

I haven't picked one yet, but I am working on doing so. The things I've decided to take into consideration are: The person addressed what was said and answered the question. The person gave a thoughtful post. They also added another way to view it, or they said something which I was not familiar with but after research I agreed. and lastly, the grammar and punctuation is decent to where it is readable.
