Most of you would be having an internet connection. Is it a broadband connection [connected with a cable wire] or is it with a Data card? What is your preference? Mine is a broadband connection and it is cheaper than a wireless. It is also efficient as far as I am concerned. I would not change it . My experience has been good for the past few years. What are your views? How many of you are waiting to switch over to another type and how many of you are satisfied as such? Can you please share your experiences? THanks in advance for your participation.

we have a cable internet hooked up to a wireless router for the house, so we can have more than one computer (at this time we have 2 on wireless and one hardwired) to the internet.

Should this be considered a broadband connection or a wireless then? If it is cable then it should be broadband isnt it?

@kalav ..the term broadband does not mean it is wired..it denotes that the connection has 1 MHz bandwidth and 1.5 Mbit/s data transfer rate... so wireless internet can also be called broadband if its meets above specs.. now about our internet ..we took wired broadband connection to our homes.. and for the purpose mobility around the premises ...we used a wireless router too.. hope this explains ...

I currently have the basic wireless internet provided through cox communications. It works pretty good, I have yet to have any problems with it. The price is very good compared to the speed and quality.

Thanks a lot for your response. I think the preference would be very region based.Earlier I was in South India and had another connection. Now I am using the common one used here in Mumbai. Both are good.

That's true.. I was originally planning on going with another service before I chose this one that I currently have. The other service's quality wasn't as good as I had imagined. Location is definitely the key in making a decision on the correct internet type and internet provider.

Mine is connected through the land phone via a modem. It is quite expensive and I am thinking of using broadband connection as it is cheaper and can be mobile wherever you bring the laptop.

Hi, Kala, I am also using broadband connection. I think it's really cool. As you rightly said, this is cheaper and maintenance free. But if there is a need to use data card, we can go for it Otherwise cable connection is good for me.

Hi kala, I have a wireless bsnl connection since I have a laptop. I feel that wireless connection is better since we all can use our laptops at the same time and also connect a desk top computer through a wired connection as well !The speed of course varies depending on how many are using the connection. But generally it is excellent and I have no complaints

I use broadband internet connection in the office I work. It is owned by the company I work for. But I do use it for personal job during official working hours. Although, my company do not like staff using their connection for personal or private use, however, since I have my own office I flout the rules and use it just to make some money for myself. That is why you see me posting and answering questions more often on mylot. while at home, I have the wireless type that connects my laptop to the network. It infact uses a modem. The company that supply me the internet connection in Nigeria is called multlinks. It is one of the best internet provider in Nigeria. Their network is also very fast.

Broadband connection is most ideal. From the name you know you will be getting a much higher bandwidth than some other connection methods. But I think having an ethernet cable connected to your computer provides a bit higher level of realibity than using a wireless connection because there could be interference with the wireless connection.

I am not sure what I have here it is from my phone company but it is not dial up. It is a high speed internet that I run a split phone wire to the box then run a wire to my wireless so I can use more than one internet device. I think it would be better if there were less wires but for the moment this is all that I am aware of and I can not afford anything more.but hey it works!

It looks like you have a broadband connection because you are talking of some wires.. Probably the box serves the purpose of the modem.

Yes! I do believe that you are right. I am not very informed when it comes to wiring and names of things with the computer. I know how to use one very good but not for anything technical.

Hi kalav, I use my cell phone as modem for internet connection. It is very slow. So I decided to switch over to broadband connection. Yes it is more cheaper than wireless. But I prefer wireless system of broadband. Because in stormy weather cable wire can disturb internet connection. So I decided to use Data card.

I love WiFi! :-) However I have heard rumors that some companies may start to charge On the basis of how much we use the Internet instead of having one base price as a monthly charge no matter how much we use the Internet. I hope this does not happen because people will start to only turn on the comp uter when they really need to rather than just as a way of relaxing and distracting themselves for a few hours. It would have far ranging implications actually for business on the Internet and four things like watching movies YouTube and so on. For example if you know you were being charged for every moment you're watching a movie you might choose not to watch it whereas if it is free, so to speak as in a monthly charge and it doesn't occur to us how long we are online if you know what I mean.

I am using a broadband connection with a cable wire also and I guess it is the cheapest and most practical way. I am satisfied with it and don't have any regret of using it.

I connect the internet by ADSL. Since we have a wireless routher. So we can use the wireless internet connection at home and this is so convenient. Since we have three laptops at home and two Wifi cellphones, so we can take good advantage of it no matter we are in the bedroom or living room. I love China

I am currently using a broadband and would never exchange it for any other internet connection available. I had bad experiences before with the others. Since I have been working online, it is necessary for me to have a fast and reliable internet connection. I would sometimes use a plug it of Smartbro if I am mobile but the result is far off from the the broadband.

According to our 1 year experience with our internet connection it is advisable that our connection is connected to our phone. Its more productive and convenient to use the computer. Because some of my friend who tried the broadband are not contented with their connection. Wireless connected are good too. You can use your cellular phones and laptop to internet without any connection needed. Good day! God bless!
