Intelligent Discussions

Why don't people respond to them? It seems that all of the hot topics and discussions with lots of responses are silly questions, often with yes or no, or either or answers. For one thing, this violates the myLot regulations, and for another, it's so trivial. Why don't people respond like that to questions and posts that are actually intelligent and designed to start discussions?

I completely agree with most of the views posted here, that a majority is here not for engaging in meaningful discussions, but to make what they think is a quick buck. Personally, i think it dilutes the forum, takes away any meaningful discussions that could happen, and even result in those who would like a cross-pollination of ideas, to lose interest. Sadly, that is a syndrome I am faced with. I know that most people would post any old thing. I have stopped creating discussions because of the responses I get there. What is serious to me gets buried under inane responses. So, when I try starting something light and fun, i don't have my heart in it. I now limit to responding only where I feel it could result in a 'discussion'. And I don't believe posting a message and forgetting about it...or ending a matter with one or two responses constitutes a discussion. If I sound angry...i sure am. I believe there is a lot of potential in here for some serious exchange of view, opinions, perspectives and insights from people across races, cultures, nations, religions and what have you. But it's all getting muddled up in senseless discussions and even more senseless responses.

Uh huh. It seems things are beginning to change for the better. Since Mylot modified the earnings algorithm and began monitoring more closely the discussions that are being started, things have gotten better. I'm seeing far more good discussions now, although there are still those which mean so little and thus drive me crazy, but still, it's a step in the right direction.

This is the primary reason why I go straight to my friends' discussions and bypass the main page. I find this to be much more enjoyable and the discussions are much more interesting.

I need to invite some friends and bring better discussions over. I think most of my friends are happy with non-paying message boards however.

i agree. i have been trying to write discussions that are socially relevant but one one want to respond to them. i guess its easier to just answer no-brainer questions. but i found that you dont earn much if you just post one-answer questions. i tried posting them and even if i get many responses, i still dont earn much.

Yeah, i'm new here and am trying to find out the best ways to make the money. I've been avoiding the lame one word answer questions that mean absolutely nothing. When I do answer those questions i try to respond in a way that is different than the responses of the masses in attempt to stimulate some though, but to no avail.

Because people (myself included) did not read the E.U.L.A. so at first i was like "yes" and "no"..BUt i realize now that i can really express myself and get paid for it..This is not a scam. So now i trake it more seriously.

I was wondering that too! I'm also annoyed with the bad grammar from people who don't even try on this site. People have intelligent discussions on message boards that pay them nothing, but on here, people just want to respond to as many posts as they can. I'm not saying that I have perfect grammar and only respond to intelligent posts, but if there were some good discussions going, I'd be in on them.

you have a valid question here! i think the reason this is . is due to the fact that they would rather answer an easy (yes or no) question just to get a responce in to boost their cash flow. i mean i dont see much of a sense in answering a yes or no question personally, so i guess i am one of those people that you will see 6 months down the road complaining , how come i have not made any money here on MyLot.
