It was late/early Sunday morning and I had just seen a commercial for Quibids. I have seen them before and I thought it would be good to go one the site and set up an account. I might find something for the kids for the holidays coming up. So I go on and do just that. I start getting the usual notifications and see that they have taken $60 out of my account. Now I read the terms of service and never saw anything. I thought I would just buy a small amount of bids and they have some free ones to help you get started. I immediately tried to call but they were closed until Monday. I emailed their Support department and asked for immediate refund. THis time of month is pretty difficult for me and my family. Being on benefits isn't easy and though I am happy to get what I do make online from writing and posting here it isn't much. Well late Sunday afternoon I get two emails fromQuibids. One saying it will be 1-2 business days and another saying it will be 5-6. Come on people. Atleast be on the same page at your own company! So I am on vigule waiting for my money. I wanted to let you folks know about this as this looks like a fun site. In reading what the Better Business Bureau had about the company on their site it says they do state plainly that there is this fee coming directly out of your account. Am I blind because I never saw anything about it until I got the emails? So I writing this to alert people to this. That's alot of money to have taken out for something like this. Have you ever had an experience like this?

The BBB thing looked pretty one sided. I talked to someone there just now and they said my money should be in my account sometime today. It better be.

Wow!! This would be quite upsetting to me as well, and I am glad that you were able to get this matter resolved right away. This is probably something that I have seen in the past, and not interested in. It just does not sound right that they say it is stated somewhere, and you never seen it. Sound like something Fishy to me.

I did have an auction on e-bay that was really cheap, but the shipping and handling was outrageously high. They ought not to allow that... Not quite the same thing, I know.

Wow...I'm glad you give us the heads up..sometimes it's easy to miss that stuff in the fine print. I had an experience with one of those people finding websites once. There was a month free and I intended on paying for the membership until I found out it was pretty much a dating site. I sent them emails trying to stop my membership and they still took the money out of my account. I finally got a hold of someone that could help me but it's hard when you need that money and have to wait on it.

I am usually pretty careful to read the TOS and atleast scour the FAQs. I never saw anything about this amount of money being taken out. I read in a forum I foound that others had had the same problem. I call this a scam. I had a situation somewhat like yours back afew years ago. One where after a months free membership they start taking out membership fees. I called my bank and they helped me. I had called the company and stopped my membership but they took money out before they said they would. I thought that was pretty nasty of them.

I'm glad you got a % of it back. I will get the full amount because I was only on the site as a member for like 20 minutes at the most. As soon as I found out the scame I deleted my account.

hi celticEagle oh yes I do not remember the namee of the site bu t you guessed the winning lottery numbers and to join this site you paid a two dollar fee a month. oksy I used my debit card so I won about three dollars that month but at the end of the month I read my online bank report and this site had taken out 15 dollars and credited me with three dollars. I tried to contact the admins and got nowhere so finally I talked to my banker long distance and he suggest they change my password on my debit card so this site could not take any money out] of my account and the man also told me he called this site and threatened them with the better business bureau investigation and asked them to send me back fifteen dollars at once before they changed my password.to my delight that same afternoon the site sent me the fifteen dollars then I had a new password. I have not signed up again for any site that wants payment of fees since. not worth the hassle.

Well, I am glad you were able to talk to someone that cared and helped you. I will tell BBB if I have a problem. There is also a forum I ran across when Googling that i sent my story to as well.

Good. I'm glad it is of help to you. I have been leary too. But I had read the terms and all looks okay so I thought I was good to go. I thought you just bought afew tokens or whatever. THis time of month I am real close to the negative. I am sure you understand about that. Scarey sometimes and then this. Ugh!
