I have seen time and again how media goes all out to cover all news about criminals and those with criminal back ground more o when it is a high profile case and the individuals are young and good looking. It is happening now with Maria in India who has just been released after being accused of murdering her former boy friend.
Even before she steps out she is being offered roles in TV serials and a film, now isnt this taking things too far?
I feel that it is very unhealthy tendency that can have far reaching effect on the very fabric of a society. It makes its citizens feel that they can get away with anything including murder...what are your views and opinions about such things? Is it fair to glamorise criminals ?

Hi anil,I agree ! It is because of our politicians most of whom are criminals themselves , talking big and mouthing patriotism. No wonder then that the entire nation follows their example. One knows that you can do anything and with the right connections can get away from any crime you commit including murder...what a sad and horrible state of affair

Happy week end to you too. I think it is a very bad thing to promote the criminals.
I think it is the fault of the media and the people who give them the offers like a role in a TV serial. It irritates me when I heard such news.
Media should not focus such people.

Hi sanjay, hope you had a good weekend
....I agree that it is a very unhealthy trend to promote criminals .I too was aghast when I heard that a film maker wanted to make a film on such a gruesome story.Dont they have any responsibility or do they think that they have the right to do what they want in the name of artistic freedom...all the best and have a nice week ahead

Hi
Good Post!
Media likes to sensationalize any news so that people like you and me could keep glued to TV sets or to the news papers. You are very right that criminals are glorified like heroes and celebrities and shown again and again, as they have won an Oscar. Serial and Reality show producers should also refrain from making such announcements and should not allow criminals to be part of Reality shows

You are right a section of society also should share the blame, who love watching such disgusting story and encourage media to give minute details.

Hi deepak,That is true ! But again it is we the general public who are giving them the encouragement to do so by sitting glued to the TV and making them earn...Making an announcement is fine but to go on and on about it and highlighting every single part of their life is really too much. They made a hero pot of Abu salem and his association with Monica Bedi was made out to be a romantic and adventurous love story ( sic) No wonder then that crime has become rampant and people are becoming thick skinned where violence and scams are concerned..

Unfortunately, it is what the shallow people of America and other Western countries want to read and so that is what is printed. It sells papers, magazines, and air time so, it makes money and that is all that anyone wants these days. It is pathetic and it is getting worse...we deserve what we get until we improve our morals.

Hi Adoniah, it is the same everywhere in the world now. people seem to have become blood thirsty and take everything in their stride almost as if it is an everyday happening....I wonder where all this is going to lead to? we may see more downside and worse scenario in the coming years - thanks a lot for sharing your views , happy mylotting

Hi kiran, It is a unhealthy practice of the movie and TV serials makers. To glorify the criminals is also crime. Media always focus the negative sides of the society. Positive sides are not get importance to them. By capitalizing the light sentiment their(TV,movie and media) main goal is to make money.

I agree that it is a unhealthy tendency. Most film makers and TV serial makers jump st such things. earlier it was Monica Bedi who was welcomed with open arms and made to look like someone who had done something great for the nation, and now the others..I feel that not only the media it is the people themselves who are to be blamed. I read that such news sells and naturally the media is out to make money, but the readers are the general public ...

dear kiran,
that is so unfortunate. did the case already prosper in court? if not, in that case she is still innocent until proven guilty. but, i, too, find that media people sometimes are biased. not fair at all.

Hi ann, how are you ? hope you enjoyed your weekend
...In this particular case the girl and her lover apparently murdered another person who she was seeing and was hoping to get her career furthered through him. They cut him up into pieces and threw it in a dense forest area from where the investigation began, Since there were no eye witnesses the girl was sentenced to 3 years of prison and let off yesterday due to lack of conclusive evidence. But most people including the friends of all these people say that she is guilty ...In the meantime the media is going crazy , so also people from the show business for whom all life is a stage...
