Do you use avocados when cooking?

I rarely use recipes with avocados in them, but I tried the subway avocado sandwich and my taste buds were happy. So, a couple of nights ago I made California Style Chicken Cordeon Bleu, with avocado. It was really tasty! I haven't had avocado in years and all because of subway's new sandwich, I plan on incorporating it in my weekly meals now, haha. Do you use avocados when cooking on the regular? Rarely? Or do you prefer not to?

I regularly use avocados: in soups, sorbets, ice creams, on salads, sandwiches, appetizers, in patés, terrines, just about anything. I even use avocados in desserts! I had a chocolate pudding made with avocadoes that was out of this world. So count me as an avocado aficionado!

Avocados are rare in India and if I see their prices on a grocery nearby, I would scream aloud for that one small piece because of the crazy high price. About putting avocados in my recipe, nope I haven't tried yet, i would love too but the quality of avocados here are not good compared to the avocados I get in my own country Philippines. It is seasonal fruit so it is also hard to locate and where to buy. But when you ask about infusing it in a recipe, I would love too, like that Mexican guacamole that uses avocado for a recipe. Maybe I will try it some day since I am a food blogger and you can visit my delicious recipes on my profile. Well so much for plugging in, anyway I like to try that Cordeon Bleu that you'te talking about

I don't really know avocado can be used for cooking till I read your post! Thanks for sharing for surely I will try adding avocado on my subway sandwich to taste for myself how great it would really be. Avocado is now in season so I would be getting some from the market this morning. Thanks for sharing.

I eat avocados in many ways. I mainly use then for salads, as toppings for burgers (mashed) or as spreads in sandwichs. When in salads I either cut wedges and stir them into other greens or I cut in half and stuff it.

I haven't used avocado for cooking. But I do eat avocado as merienda or anytime of the day. I combine avocado with milk and cube ice and a little touch of sugar.

I haven't used them in cooking. They are very healthy and I do hope to use them more, possibly on a salad or in a low-fat guacamole. I could throw a few chunks in my salsa and use that as a new topping. I'm not sure what else I could do with them.

I'm not that big on them, but I do use them when I'm having tacos. There's just something about that flavor alongside the sour cream and cheese and cumin and hot sauce that's perfect.

Hi belonephobicgirl! I rarely use avocado for cooking. The only time I have used avocado was when I made guacamole! I don't really know what else to use it in.
