Are politicians supposed to tell the truth? Are they supposed to be honest? You are expecting way to much of Hussein Obamination...He has never even held a job before. We all know How adept he is at misinformation. Maybe his teleprompter was malfunctioning that day. Maybe someone was supposed to type in there positively would be a tax increase in 2 years. See that could be what happened. Hussein would never have known the difference. He never knows what he is supposed to say.

Is it 2012 yet? Yes would be a good answer.... Maggiepie "The art of being wise is the art of knowing what to overlook." ~ William James, psychologist, philosopher 1842-1910

I have an increasinly bad feeling we are going to have this problem with the next several presidents. Many people are going to run on a "no new taxes" platform and have to renege when reality sets in. I just can't believe anybody falls for it. I'm thinking Obama even tricked himself into believing it.

We need a link or a sound byte. I'm sure it was conditional. Obama doesn't say ANYTHING unconditionally. He's not G Bush, Sr!

You already forgot the deal that Obama made, but wasn't happy about? Keeping the Bush tax cuts for everyone for 2 years? http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/tax-cut-deal-president-obama-expected-announce-terms/story?id=12327282 You know, some things are just too well known to require a link.

PARATED: And let's not forget his (as yet unbroken) promise to put coal plants out of business, & cause electricity bills to "necessarily skyrocket." LOL! He's made many unconditional threa--um...I mean, promises! My sweet little country granny had an expression for what your post has done. She'd say of it, "Well! I guess that got him said!" ParaTed, it was limited to the Bush tax cuts. That was his conditional loophole. He probably has spindoctors right now working on how to sell any new tax increases as differentiated from the Bush tax cuts. BTW, I know we can't link everything, especially if it seems common knowledge, but politics is tricky because words get misplaced, misheard and misremembered and I couldn't remember how he had phrased it, but I knew he'd cover his butt. Maggiepie, there was alot less to overlook when James wrote that quote. (Which is pointless to say, but kind of a cute thought.)

I cannot rightfully tell you or anyone else just what type of person I would be if hardly no one held me accountable for the things I said or did. I just know it wouldn't be pretty. And I'm not even close to being the President of the United States of America. I'll never have millions of paid-for, spineless shills in my corner. And I'm thankful that I never will. I only hope enough people do hold our President to ANY standard come 2012. If they do, we might be able to FINALLY get a good person in office, one who doesn't put his or her political future over America's future.
