Do you ever make mistakes that make you laugh aloud?

I do. My latest was just a few minutes ago when I was writing about a soccer team whose theme is "You'll Never Walk Alone" but I wrote---"You'll Never Walk Again". I don't know why that made me laugh so much, it's really a pathetic sentence that is sad but I just laughed aloud, startling my dogs, and continued giggling for another 5 minutes or so. Do you make yourself laugh when you type the wrong things? What mistakes have you made that made you laugh?

Quite a difference between the two themes. Yes there was a time I did for instance here saying how not to do something and in the body of my response I sort of ended it with something saying I would definitely go this route etc.. Thankfully I have been getting into the habit of previewing a response because huh? OMG, I am totally confusing the discussion starter and contradicting me. As I meant to say I would definitely not go that route. So I can quickly make a change before, I send it through. lol Whoa, would not be good to see it later after a comment back. I do have to admit though there are times that I forget to preview and as the response is loading the errors have been clear as day and I have to go back in and edit. Sometimes my brain and typing compete with one another as both are going to fast.

Can you edit here after you hit the submit button?! I rarely preview but I probably should. I'm all about time management, though, since there's so little time available. But I know what you mean about confusing someone and contradicting one's self since I find myself doing that frequently--at least in my mind.

That is the small weakness of mylot as we can't edit the comment submitted so the preview button is really important. Yet I am still not getting familiar using that button.(^^)

Yeah no we cannot edit after we submit, and having submitted a few and felt bad types of situations, I try to edit after previewing. I see where above I said I have to go back and edit. Yeah only when I am previewing before submitting.

Yes.. that's pretty funny! I also think it's funny when you start reading, saying, or typing one particular word too many times in a row and after awhile, it LOOKS wrong or sounds meaningless. I can't think of any specific examples right now but I laugh about everything, which is one reason some of my friends seek me out when they are having a bad day. I could laugh about sprinklers coming on at 3 am in a public park that get me all wet because I was sitting on a picnic table.... of course I was 15 at the time and with my best friend. Not so sure it'd be funny now. Some stuff is just funny after the fact, like the time I saw this snake coming out from behind the other computer tower and I freaked out and screamed and yelled for my husband. He made fun of me after that for awhile.... going 'sssssssssss' to make me jump.

Haha....That words has totally different meaning!!(^^) There are few times I wrongly upload photos in a wrong topic or discussions. Since I open more than one tab of discussion in my window sometimes there are 10 different discussions in one window. When I am uploading a photo to one of the discussion and at the same time write and sent a comment to another discussion the photo was uploaded into the second discussion because the second was send first. Imagine when I am actually discussing about a serious matter then suddenly there is a funny photo that has nothing to do with the topic appeared. .. and then there is another chance for me to write a correction comment to the starter.(^^)

That could really be funny--like, if you uploaded a photo of your dog in a discussion I saw today about eating dogs! Funny and sad at the same time!

Urghh.. I am not going to upload that eating dog image. We can't eat dog anyway..There is time when me and friends talking about the stupidity of this one boy stole his boss cheque just because he wants to give a girl he met in social networking site a diamond ring. The boy met with the girl and gave her the ring. Once he get arrested the girl deny for knowing him and he need to face the his crime by himself. And at that time I was writing a comment to another mylotter about vegetable and uploaded a photo of bitterground and when I submitted my first comment about that boy I send along the photo by mistake to her. My friend said she thought the bitterground has something to do with that boy.(^^)

Actually I do that all the time, especially at work, my boss sometimes comes in and asks me what the heck am I laughing at. I also get upset with myself and start cursing and mumbling to myself. I sometimes sound like a crazy person by myself and after I am over my episode of either laughing or cursing I come to my senses and think, these peopel I work with must think I am crazy. But then again, I have been here for 10 years, so they are probably used to it by now.

I'll bet you've given them some good laughs! I'm known for mumbling to myself, too...it helps verbalize and gather my thoughts. You know what they say about people who talk to themselves? It's a good way to have an intelligent conversation!

Trust I have given all of them a laugh as well as myself, I sometimes look like a crazy person, but it's not a surprise to anyone anymore after 10 years their kind of use to it by now.

Hi Dragon54u..I just read your post and although what Im about to disclose isnt a 'writing mistake'.. the fact that the thought popped into my head again because of your post, I just had to share my experience.. I was making soft boiled eggs the other day, and well thought to myself 'Can I make one in the microwave'..Hmmm... so I got a bowl, filled with somw water and put in my egg, turned on my microwave for about 2 mins.. (*ping*) I took the bowl out..and the egg looked okay, but when I began to peel the shell off- the whole thing exploded!!! IT WAS SO HILARIOUS..I WAS ALONE in my kitchen splattered with gooey egg!!! Asides from pure shock..nearly stopped breathing from laughing so hard- though I did say it wasnt a 'writing mistake'.. Your post has brightened up my evening..LoL (",)

And you have brightened my morning with a good laugh!! I've heard that you can do that in the microwave if you make a little pinprick in the shell and through the lining but I bet you won't want to try that again!

Oh I have lots of those in my lifetime. There are even times when I could recall the humiliation I have caused myself and I can't help but try to take it off my mind because until now it makes me quiver with shame at the same time makes me laugh at my mistakes. However, there are times when mistakes are so grave that all I have for them are regrets for not having done my best to keep them from happening. Have a great MyLot experience today!

Nearly everything is funny if we look at it the right way--however, we can't always expect other people to see it as we do. Just laugh and have fun, don't be embarrassed. Laughter makes life so much enjoyable.

hi dragon54u with me its omitting a letter that totally changes the meaning when you are trying to really give a compliment to a mylotter friend. I wrote that I really rated this one mylotter friend highly for all her work on my lot but I did not check it via edit before posting it. I got a private message from her asking why did you out in public in your response tell everyone you hated me highly for all my mylot work? What did I ever do to You? Oh mG I hurriedly answered her ; message after I read what I had actually wrote. I had indeed written I hate you highly for all your work on mylot. what a difference one letter can make.I told her that I had indeed not proof read it or would have corrected my error before ever posting it. we then had a good laugh over it and I wrote a comment after that response also stating that hideous error.after that I always edited first as I did no want to make enemies out of friends. lol lol.

Yes, there are really times our own typing mistakes could make us laugh. I wonder why our fingers could do such mistake of not typing what the brain is dictating or it could be because the fingers are not as fast as the brain so before it could ever type the first dictation, the brain has already dictated another so that the fingers are confused and they mixed up the words. Imagine how instead of laughter, big embarrassment will come to you, if you were able to publish that wrong sentence and people have already seen it before you do.

I make mistakes because my brain is always going in different directions. While I'm typing this, for example, I'm thinking about what I saw on the news last night, the economy I can hear being discussed on the radio and my breakfast that is on the stove right now. No wonder I make mistakes! But at least they make me laugh!

Hi there, Not exactly though I have had several occasions when I had your experience here at mylot. But outside the mylot region recently what I did was to write in words and in digits on a bank cheque leaf. We have a college cooperative society where all the faculty members contribute after they get monthly salary. I took out my cheque book and put the amount in figures and in words. But while writing it in words I wrote Rs.1000/= less. As I drove my car homeward suddenly I remembered what I did and it made me laugh so loudly that had the passers by noticed me they would surely think about my mental fitness. lol

I haven't made mistakes on cheques but I have put the wrong cheque in the wrong envelope. People usually do this on purpose to buy a bit of extra time paying their bills but I was at the post office before I suspected what I did. Of course, I had to ask for tape after I'd corrected my mistake and I was somewhat embarrassed. It was rather funny, though, and made me smile at my own carelessness.

Boy do I ever! I laugh out loud at myself one can't help but laugh along with me. But I haven't done it too often lately. Not that I don't make mistakes but I guess I've been uptight. You just reminded me that perhaps a little laughter injected at different parts of my day may just do me well :)

I laugh at myself a lot! I'm a theater actor and theater actors are not exempt from making mistakes. However, we can't sulk and beat ourselves about them. Making a mistake on stage can be disastrous or it can be wonderful. You're out there and in front of a lot of people and the beauty of it all is that they have no idea that you messed up a line or missed a cue. The audience will always that it's part of the show. There was one time when I messed up a line. I didn't realize what I had done but I did notice a lot of shuffing and muffled reactions backstage. By the time I exited, People were whispering the messed up line to me and we can only hold in the noise of of our laugh. Every time we'd do the show again, my co-actors expect me to mess up the line again and they can actually see me labor in making it right (once you make a mistake, you get used to it way too much). My mistake has now become an inside joke. In theater, inside jokes are an institution, if not a traditional story to pass around the campfire. Goes to show that you can always live in regret! :)

You are so lucky!! You will be the source of giggles for years and become a legend in that theater! You'll make people laugh again and again from one flubbed line and that's a wonderful gift.

It is hard to avoid having A slip of typing in an article. However It did make a fool of oneself sometimes. My English is not all that hot.I have no idea what" You 'll never walk again"and "You'll never walk alone" mean respectively.I guess the former means you are never again;the latter means you are never lonely. When we type Chinese characters,we frequently make stupid mistakes too.We have to look over them over and over again.

You are right, your English is good! "You'll never walk alone" was a very popular song years ago, which makes "you'll never walk again" all the more hilarious, picturing that popular band singing those words and picturing the faces of the people listening getting grim, turning off the radio and walking away saying "What the heck is wrong with those people?!" To me, that's hilarious!

Yes, I also do laugh at myself for my mistakes. I had experienced the same thing as you several times. What I had remembered was the time when I placed the remote control in the freezer. I don't know why I did that but I burst myself out loud. Not forgetting that I did it twice. My friends laughed out at me after they learned what I had done. :D

My fingers make mistakes unrelated to my brain sometimes--I've noticed in the past year or so that sometimes a finger will jump and hit the wrong key. It's irritating but I catch the mistake. And I'm developing arthritis so I can imagine how it feels for you. The mistakes may be funny but the cause of them is not--it's good to laugh and forget, laughter is so good for us!

I always do have mistakes that makes me laugh. There was a time, when i went out of the house to buy something from the store. When i arrived back, i noticed my shirt was on the wrong side. I blushed and i laughed aloud, my mother-in-law asked why . When she saw my mistake, she too laughed .

Oh, I have done that, too!! Did you wonder how many people had noticed and were too polite to say anything?! I always say something just in case the person wants to correct it but in the past few years I may just be seeing a fashion statement--I used to tell people when their clothing tags were hanging out until it became fashionable to let everyone see them!

Yes, it happens many times in my life when I mess up with people. like when I had dated a man and he was to call me back in another day. It was in the week when I had just moved into another apartment and had called the electrical provider to put on the electricity because I had moved in. Well the phone rang and a man introduced him as 'Jan', which was the same name on the man who I had dated a few days earlier. So when the man in the phone said his name I start talking about our date.... when he could get his voice heard He said I am calling from the electrical company to inform you that your electricity will be on in the morning. I started to laugh.... out loud. The man sounded a bit embarrassed... but he also had a laugh. That's one among all my mistakes.

Sometimes I laugh at my typographical errors too. That's part of the work though when typing. We can never be sure of what we are writing so it's good to read it again before finalizing it! SH*T happens! There are some funny SH*T though! God never cease to give us happiness even though it's in just simple things like typing. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL! HAHAHAHAHAHA!
