Yesterday every news channel called it a Black Wednesday for our city. There were a total of three bomb blasts and all of them in crowded areas. This has left a few people dead and many injured in hospitals. Luckily for the the places of the blasts were not near my office or residence. A few of my friends found it troublesome to reach home. But no one was harmed. These incidents do frighten us. Our city has encountered many such incidents in the past decade. And things are back to normal the next day. Hope all the mylotters and their families in Mumbai are safe and sound.

Hi! I am happy to hear that the blast did not affect you and you are safe. It is really horrific and dastardly act to disturb the peace of our Nation and it must be condemned in the strongest manner possible. People need to be more aware and cautious and keep looking for suspecting objects and persons around them. Terrorism is a menance and we must fight it collectively.

The problem is the general public is not at all aware of what is going on around them. If someone keeps a bag next to us and runs away we would not know. One of the blasts happened near my old office. Lucky I was not around that area.

Hi Mayka, Yes, it’s a return on the monster after a lull of sorts Really don’t know if ever it would be possible to completely plug the holes in our society, effectively. In that sense, I do believe what Rahul Gandhi said, made perfect sense that its not possible to exterminate terrorism 100% What is more hurting is when the fact hits you on the face that maybe your own countrymen are conniving against us! I wonder why? What grievances could a few thousand people possible have when millions of us are toiling day in day out with so much of our own baggage of troubles yet we never think of bombing a place to protest something or to make a mark! And then this democratic system is really sometimes like a stone around our neck…even if the Govt knows how to deal with the situation, they cant due to so many compulsions of multi-party democracy…and we the lesser mortals, live another day to lament the loss of our innocence.

Hi, Yes indeed another inhuman incident and we are once again the victim. There was this train derailment issue and now this happened. God knows whats going to happen next! A friend of mine had a narrow escape as he is working in the opera house and he left his office premises just 15 mins ago. He heard the loud bang and immediately got a call from his colleagues and later he called me also. Its a shame that we are unable to do anything about this terrorist attacks. Its a real question asked by these terrorists to our system, intelligence and to us the mumbaikars ( the real sufferer). What is even more frustrating that now common people like us will be grilled everywhere in the name of security checks and the real culprits enjoying in some other part of the world. God save Mumbai !

My neighbour works at Opera HOuse and at first I was quite worried about him. But luckily he left work early as he had to go out and at the time of the blast he was already at home. I think as a common man each one of us should now be more aware of what is going on around us and make sure that no one just keeps bags around and walks away without anyone knowing.

Between 7.00 and 7.30 pm i heard a huge sound of an explosion while i was sitting in my house at Matunga central and i instantly knew that it was the sound of a bomb.I had heard a similar sound in 2003 when serial bomb blasts took place in Mumbai. I switched on the TV news and found that the blast had taken place at Dadar West, a few kilometers from my house. Then the reports came of similar blasts at Kemps Corner and Jhaveri Bazaar.I wonder what pleasure these Devils get by killing innocent people.Does their religion tell them that they will go to heaven by murdering innocent people?

I know the area of the bomb blast because it was the same road that I used to walk down when I was working in my previous office. In fact some of my relatives who did not know that I have changed my job immediately called me up to check if I was okay.

I got the news almost immediately after it happened while I was traveling back home. I think if I was still with my old job I may have been near one of the places of the blast at around the same time.

Thank goodness this is still a very rare thing in the USA, until we got world wide communication we were not even aware of how common it is in other countries. I am sure that the people doing these actions have many goals but I wonder if over the years it has been shown that violence can obtain those goals? The one that stands out in my mind is England and the IRA, the one thing all the violence and bombs did was it kept the goals of the IRA in front of the English people for a long time. At this point in time there has been agreements between England and the IRA but just this week I think the violence has shown up again. Didn't the peaseful work done in India work so much better?

I hope you don't mind my asking, but what is the holiday Black Wednesday? I am glad to hear you weren't in the vicinity of the bomb blasts. I can'y imagine how scary it must be to be near them or know they are close. I hope that everything is back to normal for you and your city now. Take care.
