I was shopping today and I herd these women arguing I ignored it for awhile and continued on. Then it got louder and louder and the words really fowl then bang I herd a hit. One lady punched the other in the face... Then th women's husband jumped in and started yelling. Staff yelled out to call security... It had everybody's attention.. . I'm not sure exactly what it started over... They were in the shoe section of the store. I heard the guy say that the woman who hit his wife started it and something about she bumped her when she walked past, and something about their nationality or something.... They didn't know each other.... I've never experienced that before... Ive seen customers get angry with staff but no violence.... How about you? I Would like to hear your thoughts and stories...

Well, people are fighting just about anything nowadays.. I see a lot who killed the other just because he looked at him in a way he does not want.. People are so shallow nowadays. I think we just need to be careful and patient. It's better to just say sorry and leave even if it's not our fault that go into trouble, right?

Oh wow really... I would be scared to go out, if I knew there was people like that out there... I hope I never encounter anybody like that... People can be very paranoid sometimes but there's no need to act crazy.

Yes, I agree with bannybanzie. Some people start a fight just because someone is laughing. Ideas of reference, it's how they call it in psychiatry. Some people think that when someone laughs and unintentionally the other guy heard it, for instance if the guy just arrived, he thinks that the guy is laughing at him. He thinks that the guy laughing is referring to him which is sometimes very unreasonable to say "hey, what's your problem. Are you laughing at me." Maybe, it's better to confront other people in a nice .. Let's make peace, not war ;)

Yes. Thinking it is him they are laughing at but It's not necessarily true. It could of been a joke and he just walked at that moment in so they glanced at him... Is it better to just ignore and move on or confront, which may cause a heated confrontation??

That must have been horrible for you. Some people don't seem to have any shame when they're in public. In my opinion, nobody should act like that no matter who they are or what they're doing; especially not when there are so many people there to see them at the same time. People often feel as though they should be allowed to behave however they like, but that just isn't fair when there are other people around the shopping centre who are trying to enjoy their own day without other people ruining it for them.

Wow,this is absurd. They forget about good manners and education. I wonder why people are too hot tempered that they tend to forget their manners. Well,i've seen/witness more than this, when the wife caught her husband with another girl shopping in mall. You can just imagine what scene it is..and how awful and violent ever.

Neighbourhood violence isn't good... I've only heard of them kind of stories on the news. I've never witnessed any, thankfully... It would be scary... I would have stayed inside too watching. Violence is not worth the problems you face afterwards.....

It was the two ladies having the fight, the staff had to intavine. I heard the husband of the lady who got hit say the other lady was following them around calling them names or something ... I couldn't even tell you what kind of nationality they were, it wasn't an obvious type.... We are the most accepting country here in Australia you would think in this day and age racism was a thing of the past.....

Well, this is one of the scenarios I've never experienced it. I would like to share one of my experiences where I had to blast the gentleman who was serving me. Basically, I'm a vegetarian and visit many restaurants even multi-cuisine where non-vegetarian is also served. I have been to a restaurant along with my friend and have ordered Veg-Kolhapuri, a vegetarian dish and my phone rang. I was on the call for about 15 minutes. After sometime, the guy came and served me a non-vegetarian dish. I was not at all aware of it and did not notice as I was over the phone. I was actually searching for the vegetables in it and found a big piece(I thought it would be potato) and tried to break into small piece and it was not working with my hand. Then, I took a spoon and when I crushed, it turned out to be a chicken. Immediately, I disconnected the call and called the guy who has served me and yelled at him saying that I'm a pure vegetarian and why the hell has the ordered changed. Poor fellow, nothing can be done, I then asked him to clean the table and give me a new plate and get my order. The guy who was serving me was new and I made it out by the way he was approaching the customers and when they were asking about something in the menu, he goes back to the kitchen to get the answer. Later, at the end I asked him to stay relaxed and concentrate what you are doing and I left the place. Funny isn't it?

Lol I bet he didn't last long there.. at least you calmed down in the end... My friend complained once when we were out for dinner, she demanded to speak to the manager and we ended up with a free meal...

Wow!! This is unreal. Unless the shoes were on clearance or something and their was only 1 pair left why would there be a fight like this? This is becoming part of the problem anymore with the stress of the Economy it does not seem to take much for someone to get upset with someone and want to start a fight. Especially petty things like Race, Color or National origin. What happened to everyone just always getting along?

What has happened to people just getting along? It's as though we have all become more bitter towards others. We need to be more happy and not judge others...

We found people in the back room doing the nasty, and no it was not workers. We had a lady shoplift about 6 family pack of steaks, but knocked someone over to get out of the store, and because she made it to her car, they let her off, saying she could have bought them at another time. We had guys come in dressed in ladies dresses. We had a gypsies come in once, they cause a big commotion in a store and while everyone is dealing with that others are unloading the store. That is just a few.

We are a very multicultural place and it's something we've always been proud of. But I truly believe that the people that are coming here illegally are too violent for us. They desperately leave their birth land to come here but they bring all the bad things with them. Australia is not the laid back friendly place it once was. I used to live in Sydney and everyone rushes, no-one smiles and everywhere you look there are foreigners. I moved to a big country town but the crime rates are escalating. I live in a remote village now and it is peaceful and quiet here. I've never seen any violence in a store and I've been in sales all my life, but I've seen plenty of theft and lying.

One day last week there was ayelling fight on the bus. There was 2 older white women fighting with one younger spanish lady. I was already on the bus when the 3 entered already angry with each other. At the stop where i get off they also got off. The spanish lady was yelling that she wanted to fight them both. The spanish lady got back on the bus and it left. I asked the 2 ladies what happen. They were very angry and started saying stuf about how Obama was to blame for all that because he allowed the mexicans to stay here. Ok, so i didnt get to the root of what was going on but then the 2 white ladies went in separate directions. They wasnt even together. One day when on another bus this one guy did something and all the sudden everyone was angry saying he was disgusting. They wanted to fight him. He got off the bus then someone said he had spit on the floor of the bus.

Ohh the poor Spanish lady, it's not her fault... Spiting on the floor of the bus is disgusting, I understand how that could upset others....

There's always two sides to every story... They were both st fault. The man was disgusting, I don't understand that either.... I heard that somewhere in the world it is illegal to spit... I can't remember where it is....

I thought the spanish lady was way out of line by jumping off the bus and trying to fight with the elderly ladies but i also thought the elderly ladies should have just shutup instead of yapping on and on about what ever they were all argueing about. Yes, spitting anywhere is pretty disgusting. But to start all the fighting for that. It was just too much. Actually i dont know why anyone would spit inside of anywhere. its disgusting enough outside even.

Dare I sound like my parents and say its a sign of the times?! I'm sure that if I got hostile every time I've been bumped I'd not be here answering this..Just being realistic..My thought is that, anymore, entirely too many folks have a god experience when they stare into the eyes of the fool in the mirror and get upset when other folks don't recognize the same absurdity as god..My own 'hostile' attitude is if you need be anti-social you need to stay home and gloat on your throne there.. Enjoy!

Well, I have also encountered it when I was younger. And my mom was included with it. But there's no physical contact but some harsh words came. When my mother and I was to pay some stuff in the counter, there's a woman who talks silly with the counter lady. At first my mom ignored it and just put our stuff on the table so that the counter lady will barcode it. Accidentally, the counter lady barcoded our stuff first than the lady who is angrily nagging the counter girl. Now, the lady also started to nag with my mother. She says silly things towards my mom. Since, my mom has a breeding. My mom just quietly listens to everything the lady says. Then after the lady finished her nagging. My mom said, "are you now finish, then go home and breed yourself". The lady, left with a red face. All people were admiring my mom for what she did.

This experience at the department store was terrible for the shoppers and the staff. No wonder the security guards were called. I think that if one of them said something nasty about nationality then that was very wrong indeed. Punching another person in the face is not acceptable. I remember being in my local shop and people were talking about the front page news. At the school I had taught at two parents had an attack with hammers! They were banded from going to the school and had to stay at the school gate waiting for their children. Another time a parent came into the head teachers office and smashed things around. The police had to come around.

I don't know exactly how if started, it was just what I overheard the husband say to the staff, whether thats what ignited the feud I'm not 100% sure. Still no matter what it wad it should not have happened. The name calling and yelling went on for awhile before the punch... Your story sounds very scary I wouldn't want to be there.... It's scary what goes on peoples minds...

Some people can act so deg gone stupid sometimes and then they wonder why no body wants to be around them. They're idiots! I've seen it one time while in Florida one year and blood was everywhere. I mean everywhere! Two people fighting over something, I haven't a clue to what but fighting in the middle of a store! Geeze people, grow the hell up!! Act like adults that they are! Ugh. Anyway, I'm glad you didn't get hurt.

I've seen something like that before. In my locality, one day three women started fighting violently. It was said that the two of them were friends and they found a place to park their car when the third woman came up, said this parking lot belonged to her. One of the two women scoled this thrid woman and called her a daft bit-ch, and the third woman, of course, fought back and hit heavily on her enemy's face, a big slap. Then the police came and all the women were taken away, leaving only a crowd of bystanders still talking about this. I don't think the woman should call the other woman's name, it's bad; but the fighting is worse.
