Why I am asked to walk?

Due to diabetes neuropathy, my movement is becoming less and less, I feel pain and burning sensation on soles of feet, at times, they feel numb, at times very sensitive, even a sand on the floor appears to pri1ck the soles. I have been asked to walk and massage the soles, this is kind of ‘Acupressure’, here is some of the information. The organs of our body have their sensory touches at the bottom of your foot, if you massage these points you will find relief from aches and pains. See the picture; you can see the heart is on the left foot. They are shown as points and arrows to show which organ it connects to. It is indeed correct since the nerves connected to these organs terminate there. God created our body so well, he made us walk so that we will always be pressing these pressure points and thus keeping these organs activated at all times. So, friends keep walking. I will start my morning walk again in a few days, when I feel better; I will be holding my walking stick to keep balance, if I feel like falling down. Do you go for morning walk or evening walks? Do you massage soles of feet, if you have health issue? Do you find this information useful? Please try this, it is not going to cause any harm. Please share your experience on acupressure if any and comment on this story. Thanks in advance. Professor ‘Bhuwan’. . Cheers have a lucky day ahead.

I have nothing to share with you regarding accupressure. All I can say is this is one of the amazing information that I learned today. I readily shared your article with my significan other for he suffers too from neuropathy.I think he is improving now although sometimes I feel he just doesn't want to show how he really feels.I even save the attached image so I can study it some more and try to do some messaging. I have a chronic pain that I feel in my neck and shoulder which I think stems from rhinitis or sinusitis. The picture will be a big help and useful guide. Thanks and hope you feel better.

I need to start walking myself. I have not been exercising and been on the computer to much. as soon as the darn heat wave ends I will start on one of my breaks at work. I am getting to heavy and exercise should help me out! Then I will spend less time on the computer! Computers are addicting!

Yes, Oriental medicine teaches that every organ is connected to nerve endings in our body such as the feet, hand and face, they teach that massaging or applying pressure to these pressure points would bring about health to the addressed organ, this form or art of healing is called accupressure and had been practiced in the East for thousands of years. They sell a rubber sole that have protruding small soft rubber studs here that hit exactly those points in your feet, you put them inside your shoe when you walk, I think this is an alternative for people who are too weak, lazy or do not know the points that you showed on your picture.Good luck and get well

We're created with two legs and two feet to move our body in a natural way to keep our body in a healthy state. As long as we can stand up right on our two feet the best to keep our vitality is to carry on walking. When it is in winter time cold I do my walks indoor. Alternating the pace of walking is good for health and heart.

Peripheral neuropathy is a common complication of Diabetes because of poor circulation. My mother is diabetic and lot more from my maternal family is diabetic.I had started walking as much as possible to help me lose weight and reduce my risk for diabetes.Aside from acupressure it really helps in blood circulation, which a problem in diabetics.

Hi Papa Sorry to hear about the neuropathy. I do know a few people here who have had surgery for it and the results were not successful. Yes I can imagine the massaging must give it a lot of relief because usually I understood that when the neuropathy flares it is build pressure from the blood causing swelling and inflammation which then you feel the burning sensations. I do a lot of walking as I am very active. I actually ride an indoor bike here and have a park across the street that from time to time and usually early afternoon and or evenings. I do enjoy taking walks so am glad to hear that you will be walking also as I find it to be very therapeutic as well. As I like to think and or mingle with people outdoors too. I don't have issues with my feet but have a tendency to have my ankles swell from time to time, so I will be massaging the area and walking also as I find that this is very helpful.

Hi Professor, My father is a diabetic too. But he manages his diabetes. He don't feel what you feel in your soles. Here in our place, we rely on reflexology to massage the feet. That too is very helpful.

yes. morning walk is very important and helpful. On days I go out for teaching in colleges --walking inside the college itself is nearly 1 km and that is sufficient. I move frequently inside the house so that I do not sit in one posture for more than 20 minutes. It is a useful information. One has to get up early and take morning walk.

Hello professor. Somebody also told me that walking is the best exercise. My dad is also a diabetic person, so he needs a lot of exercise. Since he is a policeman, he always have his physical training so exercising for him is not a big deal. Well, as you said there's no bad thing will happen if we try. So, maybe I should also try walking even for some minutes per day. Thanks.
