It is easy to be on pills, but it is hard to be on diet control and life style changes. The saying holds much truth as is evident from the onset of a number of health problems among those who lead a sedentary life style caring little for the food they consume. Being on a non-vegetarian regimen lessens the quality of life of ours. All the elements of bad fats make us victims of dreaded diseases. The choice of taking up on a course of vegetarian diet necessarily implies the return to NATURE . Devouring whatever eatables which are being offered by mother nature enhances our bodily health and also supports our mental well being. A veggie diet is fast becoming the short cut to physical fitness and sobriety.

I just wish it's easy to become a vegetarian but it's not. I've always wanted to have that 6 pack abs but only 2 are appearing.
A friend told me that if I can't keep a vegetarian diet, I should at least consider eating fish. He called it fish therapy.

All you need to do is curl-ups. Do it every morning. The tricky part is making the other packs appear.

Vegetarian is pretty boring. Good for you but lacking in white meat and I really like them. I can do without red meat but I do like fish, turkey and pork in that order. Physical fitness and sobriety is okay but I still like the white meats added. And eating a good diet is important to health and well being.

Necessity of animal fat on diet is fast becoming a myth.It is good to turn to natural proteins for a healthy life.

I don't like fat, but I can't get enough "complete" protein from veggies because of my allergies... I mean... I can eat beans and rice one meal, maybe two meals a week, can't have beans again that week... so I have to have animal protein, at least dairy, for my health

I am not strictly a vegetarian, but I very much prefer eating veggies to different kinds of meat. Yes, I believe in the health values of different vegetables. When I go to restaurants which serve buffets, my plate is always more than half-full with vegies. Veggies do help physical health.

You're right, I believe and know all that. I was a vegetarian for 3 yrs a while back but had to go back to ""normal"" eating because I couldnt eat that type of food, it made me so sock and messed up my digestive system to this day. I keep trying as I took a course on how to cook vegetarian meals and there are recipes in there that I really like but every time I make them, I get sick all over again.
Strange thing is, if I eat a hamburger, Im doing fine!! Go figure!!
Ive stopped trying to fight this thinking that maybe God wants me to eat meat. But I still eat well, lots of veggies and I cook all my food.

It all depends on the eating habits that you have developed since quite along time. Considering your partial liking for veggies I would appreciate your trying out menu of that type quite often. Best of luck

I can never be a vegetarian. I love eating meat and fish too much. And I would not want any vegetarian person to live in my house. Don't get offended. We sometimes don't include vegetables in our meals at all. We just go with meat. It is cooked 365 days a year. And when we run out of vegetable we don't pay much importance to buying it right away. So a vegetarian will not be able to have a good meal in our house.

I became vegetarian at 4 years old and carried on with this until I became a vegan. This happened very gradually. I do self catering so I can check ingredients and know what I am eating. I don't like eating out because the food would be a mystery. I like to shop at health food shops that are veggie and vegan friendly and supermarkets that say "This product is suitable for vegetarians and vegans". I love animals very much indeed and wouldn't eat them.

People all over the world are slowly turning to a vegetarian diet as they have begun to realise the good effects of it. The proteins that they seek in a non-vegetarian diet is also available in leafy vegetables and is a more safer option.Fats are avoided and carcinogenic diseases are completely dispelled with when one turns vegetarian.A diet of fresh fruit and vegetables will keep one leading a healthy life and with it a healthy mind too.

A person can still be healthy and eat meat. I don't believe that being on a non-vegetarian regiment lessens the quality of life. In fact, the Dalai Lama had to eat meat because when he tried to become vegetarian, it made him ill. Meat is nature.

I don't think that I will ever be able to take our family from being a meat eating family to being a vegetarian family. However, I have noticed that there are benefits to cutting as much meat as possible out of our diets and that is something that I've been trying to slowly do with my family. With that said, I make an attempt to have a meat free dinner at least once per week and I really think that is a step in the right direction.

An excellent topic! Needless to say I've been banging on about this very thing since joining here. I pray India at least will return to the strict vegetarian diet of her glorious past, before the Muslims & the British came.
You mention only a small number of benefits of the vegetarian diet - there are a great many more with a great deal of supporting scientific studies. I won't bore everyone on here now with vast lists - they can refer to my other responses to topics if they wish to know more, though I'm more than happy to discuss any of these here too.
Keep up the good work.
I'm surprised we haven't bumped into each other before on here!
Many Blessings to you!
