Everybody Ain't Broke.

I don't consider myself as being jealous or envious of anyone. However, I do have a saying and it is :Everybody Ain't Broke. I have been out of work now every since 2008, not complaining because my God has been providing for me daily. My needs are being met by His Grace and Mercy.
In my daily life I see these things for instance, a cousin who is constantly traveling from Atlanta, Georgia to New York. Another one I really can't keep up with I just see her whereabouts posted on FaceBook, so far this summer, she has been to Maryland, Florida, and Mexico, that I know of. I like to look at HGTV, and I see these people looking for homes and they are nice expensive homes. Now you get an idea of what I am saying, right...EveryBody Ain't Broke.
I believe that my day is coming, how about you? Or do you think it (your day) has passed you by?
Just a thought

Some people are broke, some are broke in Spirit. It seems yours is alive and well. I have been out of work for a full time job since Jan 2010, but I had some part time and temp work. I have had unemployment, but it seems that it is ended. The good news is I have an interview for a job I would really like to have, tomorrow afternoon. I see others would like to know details about your survival, and I would too, but I appreciate that your day is coming as well.

I fgeel very blessed to have what i have. i am happy & content. I wish my health was better but it's not & not going to be but there are alot of people alot worse off than i am. As for people traveling, good for them. I wouldn't travel if i was able to.I never did care anything about it. My son tells everybody i go into shock if i get out of weakley co.[that's the county i live in.]I hope if u want to travel that one of these days u will be able to go anywhere u want to.

Thanks for the good wishes. This is the type of job that I can imagine myself doing for the next 5-8 years, until I can draw Social Security. It is also in the one nursing home that I have always said I would not mind going back to.

I'm also curious, how are you able to support yourself? I'm not going to be rude like the first poster... I do believe that God can provide, but I like reminders sometimes!
I know things aren't horrendous everywhere. Most of my family is still very well off, but times are getting tough for friends around us. It's hard to hold onto to hope that things can get better or that things aren't that bad.

Thanks allyoftherain. When I said God is providing for me. God knew what was ahead in my future so He instilled in me not to spend all my money when I was working to put back for hard times and I did. As of now I am living on money that I saved, I am living on money that I received as severance pay, I had unemploymnet compensation for awhile, and I have 401 K money that I have used. And in a couple of months I will be eligible for my SS. Now that is God. Whether others believe it or no. And thank God that before unemployment happened to me most of my major bills were paid in full. If people don't believe in God I certainly do. And to the first responder. Don't knock it until you have tried it.

I was not trying to be rude with my comment, i guess sense of humour is subjective and maybe i did misread the discussion, I know what it is like to struggle to survive like most of us in this day and age. I just go with more tangible things to see me through that is all. I do have faith at the end of the day but it just maybe different. Again sorry to both of you

Thanks, that gives me hope! (and also reminds me the importance of saving money) I like reminders of how God provides for his children. Thanks for sharing!

I had money before, and I believe that I will have it again. Right now, though, there are other things in my life that are more important. Do we struggle? Yes, sometimes. Could we have more money? Of course, especially if I went out and got a full-time and possibly a part-time job. If I did that, however, I would not have time to spend with my family, and my little one needs me right now. She will never again be this age, and spending the time with her while she is little is worth far more than struggling financially for a couple of years.

I worked while my oldest daughter was little, and I did spend a lot of time with her, but I also wish that I could have stayed home with her rather than having to work. She had my parents, though, so at least she had family around her while I was at work. Since I was working, however, we had the money to be able to do a bunch of fun things together when I was at home, and we were able to take trips and see a lot of the country and do things that I can't afford to do with my little one. It is sad that we have to make such choices, but I also feel blessed that I have been able to do the things that I have with both of my girls.

Being there for the little one is very important. In a blink of an eye they grow up so fast. Family is always to be a priority no matter what and I truly believe that when we have and believe in positivity that our day will come once again.
There will always be a life time of struggle but only one lifetime of being able to enjoy the children.

Yes I know this feeling only too well as I too have been unemployed for a year in a half. Although we have been struggling to pay the rent and bills I still believe my day too will come some day. I have faith and am diligently trying to also help myself by continually looking for work and not depending on any type of State aid as we do what we can to try and survive and eat daily.
I hope all gets better for you as well.

I hear you about the State aid, HWG. We qualify for it, but I refuse to be on it ... at least for the time being, although at some point we might have to be. I am not saying that people on it are bad or wrong, because that is what it is for if they really need it. I guess that I am just stubborn, although I know that we could be living a lot better and with less stress if I gave in and applied for it.

well you are right. thats a pretty good saying. i have family the same way and they just dont seem to care about us that have to help each other from starving while they are taking cruises, and visiting fun places, etc.
you just wonder how some can be like that when they know some have nothing.

I definitely believe my day has yet to come.
I've just finished my first year of university, so I'm (so far) in about £7000 of student loan debt. I have two more years (ergo lots more debt) to go, and so money is definitely something I don't have right now.
I go to uni in a tiny little town with no jobs, and where the locals hate us for being English, so my chance for getting a job and earning a little money is slim (though I still plan to try!).
My partner and I are putting off being engaged (and to an even further extent, being married) because we just can't afford a wedding any time soon, and neither of us wants a drastically long engagement.
I've no idea how we'll find the money to put a deposit down on a house, and generally, we're skint.
I'm not depressed about it though - the majority of students are in the same position, but that doesn't mean we need to stay there. I firmly believe things will look up, we just have to try and concentrate on the positives until then, like the fact we're doing courses that we love, living together with friends etc etc.

I am hoping my day of having money hasn't passed me by. We have food, car, and a house so I am just thankful for that! Here lately some of our bills are late but they do get paid. I don't currently have savings because we spent it all when cr broke down. Slowly trying to build it back up. I watch HgTv and I'm like wow! Their dropping that much money on a house? For what tiny place their getting they could buy a mansion with tons o land here! I try not to worry about the money problem too much. I figured there are people out there way worse off than me and things always seem to just work themselves out.

Yeah I like that saying: Everybody ain't broke. To see people live glamorously is a good motivation. It will help a person get inspired to strive hard and experience life at it's best.
