Do you take chances with your appearance?

I've always had long, thick brown hair that I have to straighten and style OFTEN (and it takes forever). Just a couple of weeks ago I reluctantly let a friend of mine talk me to into getting it cut. Just a few inches, I decided sternly, until I got there and decided on a whim that I should go totally crazy and chop practically it all off. (Ok, I'm over-exaggerating, but they cut 5 inches off and layered it all over). I was so afraid as I saw the hair fall to the ground as the stylist cut it off... I hadn't cut my hair more than a trim in at LEAST 5 years.... Which is a long time when your'e only 21... But when it was all over, and even now, it's layered and a little shorter than shoulder length and I LOVE IT! Even though I was so nervous about it...And rarely take chances with my appearance... What about you??? Have you ever taken a HUGE chance like this and done something crazy like cut all of your hair off?

Sometimes taking a chance pays off like in your case!Hair is just hair and I like playing around with mine from time to time.I have thick natural curly hair and yes sometimes I get it chopped off.My husband seems to like my hair more when its short.Glad you like your hair!

I love to play around with my hair. I love trying different styles and colors. My boyfriend likes mine longer though hes told me i can cut it short as I want. I like having it as something he likes too :D

I went through a phase when I dyed my hair, I took a risk and dyed it reddish brown. It looked nice, but then everytime I went to get it redone i got brighter and brighter until the stylist had it orange. So I quit dying it. I might try it again someday now that I have a picture of what I want. Its hard to take a risk when you are unsure of what it would turn out to look like.

I've never cut all my hair off, but I've cut it short before. And when I say short, I mean shoulder length. To me, that's short enough! LOL I have done some other crazy things to it though, like getting my hair feathered. I've also gotten several perms in the past. But all that was done back when I was a teenager. I prefer my hair as it is now, which is long, straight, and natural. Happy mylotting!

Yes I had and I feel sorry for my hair when it falls down to the ground when I decide it be cut. Sometimes it just get so boring and you feel you need to change your look. And having new short haircut makes your face look fresh and younger. But no matter how short the hair grows back anyway.

I have had long hair for years and I dye it every once in a while, but I don't plan on making any huge changes like cutting most of my hair off, because I love my long hair. When I was a teenager I once did something like that. One day I saw a girl who had a haircut that I really liked and I decided to that I wanted to get the same haircut. Instead of going to a hairdresser I cut my own hair. The result was a disaster, it looked really awful! I had to ask the hairdresser to fix it. When she saw me she asked me: "Did you cut your own hair?" I told her that my mom had done it, but I don't think that she believed me

Nah.i want to but im scared to even try. I have a long, straight black hair. when i mean long i really mean it(waist level). I dont the courage to cut it short cause i really like my hair and in my opinion i really have a beautiful hair. But i want to change my appearance too and im curios what would i look like with short hair. happy mylotting :)

It goes to show that you have the determination & courage in facing changes. It was brave of you cutting that long hair. But I was like that before & oh yes, I was a bit conceited because I thought "chopping" off those mane will make me ugly. They said that "its the crowning halo" and that was I thought then. Until I saw that its more beautiful if you have styled it by an expert. Since then I regularly go to the salon to have it shampooed and oiled. But frankly, I am more afraid to have my hair curled permanently. Admittedly such curly hairs can be as seductive and pretty as the next movie star.
