What is your instant relief when you are down-hearted?

There are times when we are upset and so down-hearted and needs an instant relief. What I do is put on some music that I love to sing with and sing it all out away. It is kind of like a breathing exercise to release the tension because I inhale for some breath to get some air to prepare singing, and as I say the words I am exhaling. Then instantly I regain my good mood. So what do you do to instantly take the blues away.

I will just listen to music, that's my past time when I'm on my emote moment. It really revives me and lift up my spirit.

I keep on telling myself that I should treat it as a normal day. I spend time playing with my dogs and I watch TV and movie at home. Watching movie would be the good relief for me.

Being with a pet is also a relief. When I am down I keep a dog beside me and talk to it. It is like a best friend that you let out your emotions to. Then I will feel much better.

If I am feeling down, I will usually find some time to spend with my daughter or my husband. A hug from either of them is an automatic pick up and if I am spending time with my daughter she will always find a way to make me smile.

go out, take a walk, listen to some good music and maintain calmness. i dont like confrontation, i hate asking what happened so i just let it go and accept that it was done already.. sometimes i go out of town, my sister has a house in front of the beach and its really nice to relax there. sometimes i drink but not too much when im seriously down, it will only worsen it. sometimes i eat a lot or buy something that will make me feel better but i rarely do this though..

When i am low. i think of my family. I think of my girl on whom i can always count. I know that even if the whole world turns against me, she will always be on my side and back me. If i am away from my family then i try to call home and talk to everyone. it really helps me and cheers me.

yes singing or listening to a slow soothing musik is really a good way calm yourself.Stress can stem out anytime.Music is really a medicine in times of distress and sadness.Reading some books which with a topic on how to ease one's tense also help.As for me in times when am upset or downhearted..i take a cool bath..relax in bed,close my eyes and play a some melodious instrumental musik.It helps

Well this is really hard to do console myself in this stage of my life. You know this is the weakest point in me. The word LOVE. So everytime i am facing this problem i dont know what to do. I cant think good right away, i need to set back first and relax and talk to myself as i know i am the only one who can make peace at my own mind.lol! I never believe to anyone else during this critical period of my life. Because my reason was they also want only to make me relax as become normal. So i let myself breath for sooooooo long inhale and exhale just to lose my broken heart.. It was so difficult for me really....

I find watching a comedy always cheers me up. If it's one where I will laugh out loud and just sit back and watch, I'm able to let my mood just float away. they say that laughters the best medicine and I really do agree with it. My fave ones to watch, and it doesn't matter that I've seem episodes numerous times, are Family Guy, American Dad and Not Going Out

me, i eat chocolates.. i used to buy chocolates because it makes me feel better.. there are some psychological effects in eating chocolates that makes you feel better. but if there is no chocolates, i watch movies or internet on facebook..

For me, i would stop what i am doing, recline on my chair, if i am at the office. Then , i would say a prayer request for God to help me combat it. After that, i feel a bit better so to completely let it go, i would buy a favorite food.

I love chocolates.I always eat chocolate when I'm depress and not in the mood. Movies and playing games also do in changing your mood.

For me,when iam totally sucked up i put aside all the work and engagements for some time.Have a sort of introspection for myself because i believe that the best person to solve my problems is the one whom i see in a mirror.

Do something fun to forget about,go out with friends or something and i will tell you you will feel great but i am never down-hearted i am just such a person - optimistic.

When I'm down hearted I just listen music especially christian songs and then I relieve. .Because when I'm listening on it I feel that God is talking to me through the song. .Then take a deep breath. .

When I'm depressed and downhearted I usually play basketball. Playing basketball gives me relief from all kinds of pain. This is because while playing nothing bothers me and I don't think about other things. It also gives execise to my mind and muscles too.

i better keep my self silent if n ot the depression makes me talk what ever it is .I lose control and speak up and then the person next to me who caused trouble will be aware of it and then after a while the person starts playing with what i said in the depressed situation.There are inteligent people who like tofetch out the weaknesses of people and try to supress them .They not do the understanding side however they like to tease or somewhat say more harsh things back.

For me, definitely a good cable television show. I also just surf the net. Dwelling on stuff that would give you negative vibes would only worsen if you refuse to let them go. Let all the sadness, anger and anxiety go. Don't let it defeat you.

We're the same, actually I'm listening to music right now (for I'm hurt) while here in mylot. While I'm into music my heart feels better. And also crying so hard can relief the pain I feel inside. And this site helps me a lot too, I tend to forget my problems and enjoy posting responds. :)

When I'm down-hearted, I do a movie marathon of my all feel good movie until i sleep. Especially when I watch cartoons or animes, it makes me feel younger and happy. being a kid in some way, makes you feel that you can forget sad thoughts. :)

Eating ice cream will help. Strawberry flavor is good. But some people when they eat chocolate flavor, they are experiencing migraine. It didnt help them afterall.
