Overworked and underpaid, that’s what I really feel, I have been working for the same people who doesn’t seem to appreciate the time and the effort I spend on making their reports which technically they should be the one to make since they’re the ones being paid handsomely for that. Sometimes I feel that I should demand to be promoted but I don’t think that’s a professionally ethical thing to do.. What are your thoughts? If you’re overworked and you’re completing tasks that is way beyond your job description should you demand to be promoted?

Hey catcai, yeah maybe you could ASK for a promotion and tell them the reason why. I am sure it is agreed upon, written or not, that employees have the right to air concerns especially when it comes to working conditions. As long as done properly, it's not unethical, maybe highly understandable.

I would not demand a promotion but I sure would ask for one. I would ask for a raise also. I doubt it would happen though.
