Hedgehog as pet

Wow!! You got one as a pet?? It must be so cute. I never know anyone who have a hedgehog as a pet before as I don't even have pet so I am have no idea about it at all! The hedgehog you have is male or female?? Hope you enjoy your days with your new pet!!(^^)

Hedgehogs are predominantly meat eaters. They can be fed cat or kitten food which can be dry but should really be a mixture of dry and wet. Some fresh, raw vegetables such as lettuce or carrot should be allowed. A water bottle should always be available. Never give milk. They are allergic to cow's milk and though they will sometimes drink it, it tends to give them diarrhoea. In the wild they eat mainly worms, snails and beetles and other bugs. While I will admit that hedgehogs are cute, I don't think that I would personally be able to keep one as a pet in my home. You see, I've always had dogs as pets and have only recently opened up my home to have cats as pets as well. I would probably go to a pet store and ask them all of the questions that you have about keeping a hedgehog as a pet. They are certain to know more about different kinds of pets than average people.

Hi marichris! I don't have any information about taking hedgehog as a pet. But one time, I saw a hedgehog in the pet shop and I really find it very cute. I want to have a hedgehog as well in the future. Not so sure how my dogs will react to it though.
