Do any of you Mylotters know of any natural ways to kill the pain of a tooth ache. It is infected and I'm taking an antibiotic, but it still hurts and gets on my nerves quite a bit. This whole day has been a flush due to my mouth and my colitis. I wish it had just rained like they said it was due to Don. uggg help if you can.

Hi catof1, so sorry to hear about your tooth, a bad tooth is very painful and very annoying! What we do in India to take care of the pain until it can be pulled off is, dip a small swb of sterilized cotton balll in clove oil and place it on the infected tooth. It is very effective but you have to be ready for the pungent and sharp taste of the cloves in your mouth!

No, you don't have to dilute it. Just pour a couple of drops on a small cotton swab and place it over the affected tooth, hold it just that way for the clove oil to work. After a few minutes, you will feel relief from the ache. Remove swab after 15-20 minutes and replace by another one if its still hurting.

So you don't have to dilute it. Now do you leave it in your mouth or swish it out? thank you for your response.

I had a toothache too yesterday. It was a tooth where my dentist put a permanent filling already. However for some reason, the tooth is still aching. I just took a Mefanamic Acid to ease the pain.

I don't think that anything could be better than just letting the dentist pull it off. But I know that they don't do so if the tooth is infected. I think the antibiotic given to you is enough. But if you could try two very good products that I have been using much lately, perhaps it could give some comfort. Colgate Pro-Relief and Sensodyne Sensitive. You truly need to let it stay there for a few minutes so that it would really work. Have a great MyLot experience!

I am using the colgate version and it does help, but it hurts before it gets better. How long are supposed to leave it on your teeth before washing out your mouth?

I have a good way to relief your toothache, the method is very popular in our country. You should find the acupoint.First close your thumb and forefinger together, then you will see a line between the thumb and forefinger. The acupoint is on the end of the line.If your left tooth ache, push down the left hand acupoint for a few minutes,if you right tooth ache, push down the right hand acupoint for a few minutes. It is very useful.

natural no but tylenol works wonders :) other than that you have to go to a dentist because a tooth infection can get in your blood stream and possibly spread the infection into your brain..

I remember that my father always used to put a leaf of aloe in his mouth near the bad tooth in order to speed up the healing process. I haven't tried this myself, so I can't tell you whether it's helping or not and how fast would it provide the relief. Hope you'll soon be able to rid yourself of this discomfort.

It has been proven effective for my younger brother's toothache pain reliever, the black paper "paminta" in filipino language.

Hi Catof1. Sorry to hear about your tooth ache. Wish I knew something that would help you. But alas I don't but will pray that God takes the pain of that tooth away asap. Me Thank God about 3 years ago I got my divorce settlement and got dentures. Boy was that adventure. I couldn't eat anything but soft stuff for about 3 months till I got used to denture adhesive. Now thank God I don't have to wear that in my mouth the dentures feel like my real teeth now. I feel odd when I have to take them out and clean them. Wish you luck and pray that God heals your mouth soon. Good luck and God bless!

Well the dentist is the right man to judge, as you say it is already infected, antibiotics will give some relief but temporary, am afraid it might need feeling or extraction, you may apply clove oil there to lessen the pain.. Thanks for sharing Have a nice day ahead. Professor ‘@Bhuwan@’. .

I suggest you take mefenamic acid tablets to ease the pain. Two or three times a day would be fine. Try using toothpaste specially formulated for sensitive teeth like Sensodyne. Tooth aches are really a pain. I remember when I really felt the pain when my wisdom tooth is growing. I think any other anti-flammatory medicines can be used but mefenamic acid is the most widely used.

Take something and go to the dentist at the moment because it will get more serious and he will fix it.

Hi Catof Have you tried Garlic? Just put a little on the affected tooth and leave it for awhile. If you have access to garlic drops, do try it. Place a drop on a little cotton before applying it to the affected tooth then leave in place for awhile. Hope this helps. Have it pulled the soonest possible time. Too bad, dentists do not pull out an aching tooth as with my previous experience. Good luck on that and hope you sleep well despite the pain.

I did once read somewhere that cloves were good for toothache, I don't know if they really work, but I don't think it would do any harm to try, as long as you are careful when applying it to the infected tooth. I think you bite on them, or I think you could use a power, but I am not sure.
