Casting news on The Man Of Steel

I'm not sure how many of you are aware but there is a new Superman reboot movie in production. It is being directed by Zack Snyder of Watchmen and 300 fame. The main castings that have been announced are Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman, Kevin Costner as Pa Kent, and Diane Lane as Ma Kent.
Well there was a new announced role today. Laurence Fishburne as Perry White. On one of my other sites I frequent it has become a racial issue so I thought I would bring it here and see what people think as well.
Everyone knows Perry White has been caucasian for 70 years or more in the comics, in movies, and on television. That is the argument many have been using because it is established and you can't just change that. My first point to that is Michael CLarke Duncan played Kingpin, who is normally white, in Daredevil and no one could have done better than him. It was perfect casting.
I feel the same way about this casting news. A superb actor who is getting a nonpivotal role will bring huge respect to the role and will make it superb I believe. The race has nothing to do with it and I am excited for him to be cast.

When I first heard this my first thought Michael Clarke as the Kingpin but who else could have pulled off that role? and I am a Big Marvel fan. You are right it was perfect casting. Fishburne will surprise the haters no doubt. I was never a big Superman fan and not familiar at all with the comics but I know the movies. Should be interesting to see how this turns out. I am sure they will have learned from Superman Returns!

Ya know, Superman Returns was not as terrible a movie as it is made out to be. It is a decent movie but you have to take into context that it is Bryan Singer's Love letter to Richard Donner basically and that made him hold way to much to the original formula which caused a slow build up to a anticlimatic end.

An all white cast is kind of boring I think anyway. Kevin Costner and Diane Lane should be interesting. I bet it will be good. Better be. It is quite a epic story. Are there any trailers yet on it? I will have to go to my favorite movie site www.imdb.com and check for them.

No none at all yet. It isn't set to release until around Christmas of 2012. I also forgot to mention Russel Crowe is in it but not sure what his role is yet. I think it will be a very well done take on the Superman mythos and look forward to it.

Ya, its pretty early yet. Russel Crowe too? This superhero is my favorite one. I will look forward to seeing it in 2012.
