What did you expect? For years we have heard the media say how blacks are being oppressed and so called black pastors like Wright (ironic the name) telling them to rise against their oppressors, that only white people can be racist and all white people are greedy so and sos. Now you get a bunch of black youths who think that the world, and especially the whites are responsible for their conditions. So instead of getting jobs, going to school, even picking up cans (a phrase I learned on watching Judge Judy)they attack any white person they see.
And of course because Obama listened to Wrght's sermons and that racist rhetoric, they think he will not do anything about it and the police at the event thought so to.
I mean if the victims had fought back then there would a headline about poor black youths attacked by a white mob.

I don't understand why race is still such a big issue. I could care less about the color of a person or what their background is. It just gets annoying when black people sometimes pull the race card saying "Oh it's cuz I'm black, isn't it?" and I'm just like "Well you're only saying this because I'm white". A lot of times, people put the stereotypes upon themselves. If you want other people to take you seriously, try to avoid falling into the stereotype for whatever category you're in. This doesn't just go for race, it can go for pretty much everything. If everyone avoids fitting into the stereotypes, then eventually there won't be any.

It's not an issue for most people, but there are people who work very hard to keep racial tension alive.
I call it "Racism Inc."

Aren't you keeping racism alive by focusing on this apparently racially based attack.
If you started a conversation every time there was a mob attack I wouldn't even bring that up, but you seem a little disingenuous in fighting racism if this story gets your attention so much that you jump to share it with us.
There obviously is a big problem in America still, with people still hating others just because of the color of their skin, regardless which way the racism flows.
Focusing bile and villiany upon racial attacks such as this just inspires others of the opposite color to grow more hatred.
How many Southern white males are seeing this story and going, "See, see, we told you" and how many inner city kids are thinking, "payback's a b*tch, isn't it?"?
We have a long way to go to diffuse hatred born from a combination of bad experience, ignorance and subtle brain-washing. We must be careful not stir it up.

In most cases, Balthasar, I would agree with you, the race card gets played far too often. If this was an isolated incident, then I wouldn't bother with the racial aspect of it at all.
However, this isn't the first time, and Milwaukee isn't the only place it's happening.. but there is a pattern, and that cannot be ignored.
The perpetrators were all Black teenagers, they targeted White people (even passing over Black people to get to another White victim).
This is the 3rd or 4th attack in Milwaukee with the same pattern. It's also happened in a lot of other cities.
To infuse a racial aspect where none is occuring is racist, however, to ignore a racial aspect when there is one is equally racist.
If this was White kids attacking Black people, would it not be considered a "hate crime"?

I agree. This was racially motivated and if that's a hate crime in one direction, it should be in the opposite direction.

Racism exists in the U.S. and so does racial hooliganism. On a whole racism is receding, and racial hooliganism is not common. Hooliganism among youths occurs occasionally. I don't think we can draw a conclusion that racial problems or divisions are getting worse. As a resident of the South, I notice that race relations have never been better.

Lawdude, in many cases you are right. I've lived in many placed where race was only noticed as a description of someone, not as a judgement. But in Milwaukee, the exact opposite is true. It is one of the most racially divided cities in the country. The city and county councils are designed in such a way to guarantee Black aldermen will represent mostly Black people, Latino alderman will represent mostly Latinos....
There are service departments and companies that only send like race people into "those parts" of the city.

Ted, if what you say about Milwaukee is accurate, there is invidious racism there. I've always opposed race preferences and affirmative action favoring minorities as racist, even if they originated with a benificent intent. People are individuals. Race preferences reward people who were never victims and punish people who were never offenders. They perpetuate racial divides.

The correct way to bring this story attention is to say a rowdy bunch of out-of-control teens attacked peaceful attendees of the Fair. As I understand it, there is an investigation to see if this was a violent form of "flash mob" and if so, hopefully the organizers will be held accountable along with the attackers if they're all caught.
National concern over flash mobs is rising given the porbability of many more turning violent, but your very brief post makes this seem like a simple Black V White problem.
I hope someday the words "Black" and "White" are no longer used to describe people, but I doubt I'll ever see it. I despise political correctness, but words do have power and we would all be better if those two words slowly die in this usage considering how obviously devisive and incredibly inaccurate they are (outside of cartoons, I've never seen a black or white person).
The fact that there might be Union connections in this case has you pretty upset so no harm done I hope.

Balthasar, as it turns out there were actually two separate outbreaks of violence at the fair that night. The first one was on the midway, with no apparent racial aspect. So yes, it would be racist to try to infuse race into that one.
However, the one that happened later, in the parking lot, was all about Black teens attacking White people. They didn't go to the fair to have fun, but something got out of hand. They went to the fair specifically to attack White people.
~~~~~
"I hope someday the words "Black" and "White" are no longer used to describe people"
Why? Should either be ashamed of our skin color?
The entire notion of the "colorblind society" is racist in and of itself, it is the epitome of political correctness. There's no difference between using skin color to describe people as there is in using their hair color.
It's when we use those terms to marginalize and justify hatred and abuse.
Look at what's happening at the fair now. Because a hundred or so Black teens decided to be violent, the fair has decided that anyone under 18 will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian after 5 p.m.
The problem isn't underage kids, it isn't even fair goers... it's a hundred or so Black teens. Because of Political Correctness, everyone is punished EXCEPT the ones who actually did it.
This happened to my first husband years ago when he was in the Navy. He was off the ship and downtown somewhere and a gang of black men attacked him. It made him very wary of groups of young people in the future.
I read some about when I saw your discussion. I see that union thugs invaded the governor's fair opening ceremony and shouted him down as he spoke. Then this mob...how horrible when people become a violent mob. 24 arrested, 7 officers hurt and 2 hospitalized. One women needed surgery, they beat her so badly. I hope this is an isolated incident but I won't hold my breath.
Yeah, Wisconsin's lefty answer to the Westboro Baptists did show up to make fools of themselves at the fair opener.
It's not isolated, it's happened before in Milwaukee, Chicago and other cities in the US.
Flash mobs of Black teens attacking White people just after a very public event.
Humans are very good at shoving everything into categories, even ourselves. It's sad that people have so much anger in their hearts and it's sad that it's taken out on innocent people. One day, there will be peace.
This happens about every few years where I'm from.
I've been through it myself, so I think I know what causes it - at least here. I'm sure it's different in different places.
We all got along as kids growing up, black, white, Latino, Asian, all of us. We were a big, happy community. Our parents got along. We played on the same little league teams together. We all went to cookouts together and swam together and hit up the festivals. We even chased girls around together, knowing that we were all too scared at that age to make a move anyway.
As we got a little further in school, however, the education changed a lot. We weren't only taught that slavery and segregation existed in America and that we conquered it. We were taught that white people were responsible for treating black people horrifically - blanketed, all whites vs. all blacks.
Then the separation started. Blacks kids at one table, white kids at another. A lot of the white kids felt guilty. A lot of the white kids were outright blunt in telling the angry black kids to "get over it" and that they didn't have sh1t to do with it.
The racial tensions grew exponentially after each class. Our white, liberal (didn't realize at the time, obviously) teacher intentionally made the white kids in class feel guilty and gave preference to black students during the teaching, allowing them to speak up at any time, while white kids had to raise their hands as ask for permission.
I believe the way the subject matter was presented made the black kids feel as if white people hated them, and the way the teacher treated them made them feel they were entitled to take their pound of flesh.
I could be wrong. But I'm not sure what else would explain the sudden and sweeping change in attitude.
Every new class to go through the school has its racial tensions. My brother had to deal with it, four years my junior, as he was jumped by a group of black kids in the lunch room, screaming that he was a racist.
ParaTed, et. al. I just spent quite a bit of time on a response to your excellent discussion, but even though I posted it, somehow it disappeared. I will try to recall and repeat it and I hope you understand.
"Racism" has all but disappeared in the hearts and minds of almost all Americans but for the continual politicizing of such by the likes of Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, La Raza, Muslims, socialists/Marxists (through "political correctness") and the naive and foolish liberals among us who are themselves racist.
The resurgence of racism in our country is due specifically to the machinations and installation into the WH of a criminal usurper, a foreign and domestic enemy and clear and present danger, named Obama/Soetoro/Dunham/Soebarkah. He, in fact has done nothing to help blacks or anyone else in this country.
The "perfect storm" was created by George Soros, Oprah Winfrey, Arab interests, NWO elites, and other America haters using racism, "political correctness"(the cultural arm of Marxism, radical "rules", Muslim taqiyya and other deception. Foolish and naive Americans were encouraged to "vote early and often" for a man about whom they knew nothing (even his name) except for his criminal and radical associates.
A "perceived black man" (remember he's half white), criminally and Constitutionally ineligible, was installed into the WH in order to dismantle our Constitution, freedoms, and our country's sovereignty. Using America's collective guilt over prior slavery, people were convinced to vote for a man of "perceived" color, rather than a man of character.
Waiting "in the wings" was Ambassador Alan Keyes, a man who happens to actually be
a black American, a man of great character, intellectual ability (including being able to speak without a teleprompter), and a supporter of our Judeo-Christian foundations.
Had he not been "removed" from the Chicago Senatorial election of 2004 by the criminal Obama political machine, he would have made a fine President, as would have several others who just happen to be black, but would never base their candidacy on the race-card deception (Larry Eldridge, Rev. James David Manning, etc.)
Mr. Keyes warned us in 2004 that Obama was a man of seared conscience. He was also party in 2008 to one of the many lawsuits re the ineligibility of Obama/Soetoro/Dunham/Soebarkah
as not Constitutionally qualified.
Obama is the lynchpin charged with dismantling and decimating our Constitution, freedom, and sovereignty. In addition to using racism to foment lawlessness, his mission of jihad (destroying Western civilization from within) is to use classism, sexism, terrorism, and every other -ism to deceive, decimate, and destroy America BY ANY MEANS POSSIBLE.
While I don't like to credit evil in any way it was the "perfect storm" in its plan. What better way to prevent anyone from speaking out against his unconstitutional, illegal actions than to invoke the racist label and SILENCE and malign truthtellers and all those opposed to his criminal acts.
Russia is historically and notoriously known for looking down on blacks and, of course, America. Muslims hate everyone who is not Muslim. Radicals like his compadre Bill Ayers hate their own country and are "unrepentant" terrorists.
What "better" way to unite all forces which are intent on the destruction of America and Israel (e.g. the Hitler/Grand Mufti union, Russia, global elites, etc.) freedom, sovereignty, Judeo-Christian foundations, than in the embodiment of an actual "black Muslim"? There are conspiracy FACTS as well as conspiracy theories.
Obama/Soetoro, etc. is charged with:
Decimating our economy (a form of terrorism) in order to bring us to third world status and to the feet of the corrupt UN.
Promoting racism and lawlessness
Promoting homosexuality and abortion
Making sure our borders are NEVER sealed in order to promote an influx of illegal aliens
Making this a Muslim nation
Shredding our Constitution
Destroying and demeaning the reputation of the US throughout the world
The destruction of Israel
Remember, too, he thinks there are 57 states in our country. In fact, that's the Arab League, to which he owes allegiance and which he "consulted" along with the UN AND NOT OUR CONGRESS, before declaring an unconstitutional war against Libya.
One of the first comments I heard after his installation was, "It's the Black House now."
The installation of this criminal continues to embolden all of our enemies worldwide and to aid and abet them re the destruction of America and Israel.
As long as the naive and foolish among us ignore the "writing on the wall", rapid decline of our once-free country, crimes and criminal intent, impeachable offences, and all manner of threats and deception we will allow this racial hatred and all lawlessnes to continue.
If this criminal usurper and his criminal "administration" are not rightfully removed to prison, America will no longer be "the land of the free and the home of the brave" and the rest of the world as well will be subjugated and enslaved to this insidious tyranny.
And, don't forget his famous quote in which he tells Republicans to "take a back seat".
BHO has unleashed and fueled a flurry of racial conflicts and tensions. His minion Eric Holder will not prosecute Black Panthers already found guilty and the DOJ has been steadily refusing to prosecute black crime against whites. When that kind of non-action is made known it gives vent to a host of this kind of lawlessness.
And I guess this isn't considered as racist act, just a felony. Like every other story, racism is only when white people do something against people of other color. Don't get me wrong, but I think this racism notion is incorrectly used and overreacted.
I don't know why is this happening. Whenever there is a white on other race felony or crime, the word racism is always used, but when it is other race on white, then it is only a felony or crime.
The mob attack outside the fair grounds obviously had a racial aspect. On the other hand, the attacks inside may not have. So yes, race is an important part of the story and investigation. One, it differentiates the two, and then, it helps in establishing a pattern with other such events in Milwaukee and other cities.
