Actually, by international treaty, no one owns Antarctica. It is basically a continent sized, outdoor international scientific research lab. Now, that isn't to say that a powerful (pr even modest sized) national power couldn't come in with it's military and plant a flag, but honestly, who would want to? And besides, the rest of the nations who use it would likely defend it anyways. Now, give the planet about 10,000 years and ya might have something there. Right now it just wouldn't likely be of enough use to anyone, even strategically (unless South Africa suddenly goes to war with Chile maybe) to justify the expense and loss of life in an invasion and seizure. Of course, that might also mean it isn't worth enough to anyone to defend it if someone did try to take it over.

I have no idea my friend but I would like to move there. Maybe harsh winter but this place is really safe and plenty of space for new house. I could design something nice. I like the climate and spaces and views. Place just for me. Unfortunately my partner doesn't like winter and cold temperatures :)

@koperty friend no one owns antarctica as it is signed by 46 countries, requires the continent is used only for peaceful scientific research.its hard to live there and you need to follow the strict rules made by the 46 countries, its good for tourism rather than living because of the harsh weather.also scientists are saying that tourism risking the weather of antarctica.

Presently, British soldiers are waging a fierce battle against the penguins in Antartic, after that, the next target will be the polar bears before it can be part of the great British colonial empire. It is all over the news
