What does your myLot reputation mean for you?

You know that little star that shines right next to your profile name? Well that's your "myLot reputation". It doesn't really have any real use (although I have my own conspiracy theory on that - if you are interested, check the bottom of this post), but it still seems to be very important for some people ...especially ME! Actually... I'm not into the "glory" and "respect", since I have no real friends here on myLot who would actually respect me. The only thing that matters for me, is the color, shape, and overall looks of my "reputation star" (with your reputation inside it). I just LOVE seeing the blue rep star next to my profile name, I adore the red rep star, but from yellow to downwards... I just can't stand them! Now... If I happen to get the glory and respect alongside a good looking reputation star, that would be only bonus, right? ;) P.S. I guess if I want to get my good reputations back, I would have to lick people's buts and tell them stuff that would make them happy instead of my own honest opinion. However, that is something that I simply do not accept to do, as it would put me on the level of street rats (which are actually on a better level than sewer rats). Special info - My Very Own Conspiracy Theory (MVOCT): I'm pretty sure (although I cannot be sure of anything) that one's myLot reputation has more or less to do with the following things: -Your myLot earnings : Yes! It has been rumored several times that you earn more per discussion/comment/response/others if you have a higher myLot reputation. This has been very clearly denied by the myLot administrators though... -Immunity : If you by some weird chance (or by creating multiple myLot accounts - which is btw against myLots rules and regulations) were to get a myLot rep (stands for reputation) of 9 or even 10, you would soon see people nearly worshipping you in whichever discussion you would take part in. This way, they would be forced to rate all your discussions with a "+" = you are a god. -Censure : I'm not quite sure, but since I haven't seen any discussions on the two "things" above, I believe they have been censured = this one too? -Immunity : If you by some weird chance (or by creating multiple myLot accounts - which is btw against myLots rules and regulations) were to get a myLot rep (stands for reputation) of 9 or even 10, you would soon see people nearly worshipping you in whichever discussion you would take part in. I never thought that star has significance. I was wondering what is that for. Now I know and I just realized why my earnings are too low. Hahaha., I wish I can get 8 or 9 at least.

i thought it was only 6, hehe....You really need to quote. Anyway, does it matter? I believe every post is equivalent to $0.01.

I was pretty disappointed when I got a '6' mark when I hit the 100 posts. It kind of discouraged me to continue my activity here in myLot. I was particularly aiming for a decent 8 or 7. I was posting lengthy articulate posts and then I got a lousy '6'?! But yeh most of the time I disagree in topics or arguments from the original poster so that probably is the reason why I've been getting 'down voted'. It's annoying when you put a good amount of thought on your posts and then in the end you get a disappointing reputation score. Pfft.

@mewpeach07: As mike197601 said, don't get discouraged! You still have your whole myLot life left Sadly, it is so that you will only get your best potential earnings by agreeing to everybody else here on myLot. What's even more sad, is that some people don't even understand the rating, and vote you a "-" just because you started a discussion on animal abuse, even if you were on the animals' side (they think that + or - means whether or not they like the topic). @mike197601: "When you have a few thousand by your name (like me) it is much harder to get your star up" It is also much harder to get your star down (I have never heard of anyone actually trying this though)

hi ramsesxlll I value my reputation as it helps my earnings to be more and I need all the money I can make to pay on my cable bill each month as the more I make here the less out of my social security check I need to take. the rest of my social security and ssi checks go to pay the room and board here. You have made an odd discussion. I get the feeling that you really do not have much regard for my lot whatsoever . interesting indeed.

Hello Ramsesxlll, I Like high reputation here on MYLOT and believe some day i will have that blue star but just thinking of it won't do that i need to do lot of good work here to get that. Its not that if you have reputation of 9 or 10 people will start worshiping you as in my case i have not seen it at least because my number always get fluctuated which means that sometimes i get + and sometimes i get - but no hard feelings as its up to the users how they rate me. But to negate someone for not agreeing to your point is really not good. People should always think about it as this is discussion and agreeing and disagreeing in a discussion is bit normal and it won't be a good discussion till we have oppositions.
