Funny priest...

That is the best way for a speaker, that wants to get something across, to be. Talk to the congregation on their level as if you were all friends. Which how a real church should be. It sounds like this priest has learned how to reach people. How to talk to them on their level, not trying to seem aloof or up class them.

Those are the mass I want to attend to during Sundays. Unfortunately, the church here in my place doesn't have a funny priest. The masses he conducts are actually boring. I had to drink two cups of coffee before going to mass to stay awake for the whole ceremony.

We afford priests all the respect because he is someone that we should listen to. But like any speaker, a few could really be good at it, and some not so much. For priests who engage the congregation, and make their piece entertaining, it is just much easier to listen to. And make the people at mass really hear what he is saying, and even spread it. Like you posting a discussion here about how good he was.

Hi lady, Yeah, it's our obligations to hear mass every Sunday.It's good you find the Priest in your Church entertaining as he talks about the homily.Maybe he knew that the parishioner would lack interest on what he will say if he only talks as if he was just reading.I have experienced that too where priest talks and his emotions don't change up to the end of his homily, so some of the Church goers don't pay much attention to what he is saying.Maybe they should imitate what the actors are doing on stage saying jokes and experiences but must be related to the homily. We went to Church last Saturday evening and I find our Priest just okay for me.

rarely do! hahaha funny! my favorite priest in the Philippines is pretty much like that. that is why a lot of people go to the church and listen to his homily. he is good at sending the message using humor.
