My friend was waiting for his 2nd SSS ID. Which we re-apply due to the fact he lost if first ID. We already paid the ID for Php 150.00 but until now the paid SSS ID was still not in his hand. Its been almost a half a year since we applied but until now. None!!!
But as I checked the SSS website today. I was glad an article was released. But they didn't mention when this article being published. Frankly, I am really disappointed on the SSS System in terms of this process.

Well, SSS is just like any other government offices. They said that, Their ID making machine is broken and they suspended the making of id's. I don't really believe that, it really don't take that long time to fix a v\broken machine especially when you have funds. I guess they're making an excuse. Maybe there is a problem within the sss. It must be solve immediately.
Now, they can readily produce new ids for sss, the one they called unified ID. That is a good upgrade but the releasing of ids takes a very very long time. Hope they gonna fix the system.

I am not sure what is going on with this department.
I got my SSS ID after a year upon submission, and that was 2006.
It means, since 2006 still this department is not doing good..uh uh.
Why they can't upgrade their system, just like NBI where we can have the result after an hour as long you don't have any case or no - same name in the files.
I really how NBI department works.
I never thought that SSS still works like a turtle..what's going on with them huh!
have a good day

It says there on the link you mentioned that the new fee is PHp 300.00 for loss IDs. Anyway it was still unfortunate to know that your friend has been waiting for more than 6 months, do you try to contact them for a follow up?
SSS Ids are said to be forever to be used and there's no expiration dates. Although I am just wondering why your friend didn't do something to follow up his/her application.

My friend applied for the ID as well and after a year or 2, she still haven't got it. She did follow on it after 6 months but they only told her that her ID is still in Manila being processed and after a year she went back to the office but still nothing and they told her that the IDs being processed was a month or two ahead of her filing date. Last time we went there there was no explanation anymore, they just told her, her Id isn't there yet. Too bad we have government agencies like this and we don't know the exact reason as to why it's taking too long from them to process these things.

Sounds like the same speed our government works at. Nothing worse then turtlitis. I don't see any reason for it to take so long for an ID. Now if he was applying for a passport that would be a different story. Well, hopefully he will receive it soon. Best Wishes!

Ugh~ I applied June of 2010 for a new SSS ID. I haven't applied for one before though I have those pink form at hand (E6 if I'm not mistaken). It's been a year and I still haven't seen nor held my ID yet. I called the SSS office once and said they stopped production of the IDs to give way for the printing of new ones. Now I don't know when I'll be able to get mine. I did asked them as to when I'll be able to receive mine and they weren't able to give me an answer :(
