I dreamed of a past scam I was in last night

I'm really, really depressed. Last night I dreamed that I was back into the Monavie/TEAM world and was at this big major convention-and-workshop weekend. (In real life it was just hyped-up conventions for the weekend). Anyway, my husband and mother-in-law were with me and we didn't commit to becoming Monavie distributors, nor did we commit to TEAM leader Orrin Woodward's tools business that went with MV. The other members I seen in the dream were die-hard TEAMers and they were even using religion to justify their action. They were pressuring us to commit, and we wouldn't, and then we were trying to escape, but ran into obstacles, which were leaders in the TEAM business putting us down for not committing, but we finally escaped to a car and drove away. For those of you who don't know what i went through, here's my story - http://velizabethwhite.wordpress.com/2011/03/03/i-left-a-cult-nearly-bankrupt/ - the story is too long and I can't be bothered to explain it all in a single post. It's been 2 years that I finally quit this ordeal, and I've been having dreams every so often about being stuck in that old situation, or trying to escape the situation, or seeing my ex-upline recruiting people in the church using religious tactics, that sort of thing. Each dream is so full of distress and strong, sad emotions. Each time I dream about this, I feel so guilty and frustrated, and it doesn't matter that I"m making progress on my debt here in real life, it's just that all the old emotions and shame would come back to me... Anyone else have these kinds of dreams that seem to enhance your feeling of guilt or something similar? How do you deal with them?

I have had nightmares from when I was let's say lost, where I did some pretty bad things, but fortunately I know that is past.I also have not gotten into debt in my dealings, but have reaped the rewards of what I have done and I am moving forward..I hope you can move forward and I am glad to have read this, because at one time I considered monavie because one time during a garage sale, a couple drove up with a movavie symbol on the back of their mini van. They gave me a sample and info on getting involved, but I never went anywhere with it..I read a little of your blog, and it sounds scary, I am glad I never got involved, of course in order to get involved I had to put up money, and without a job, money is something I don't have.. I suggest every night before you got to sleep, to give it over to G♥d and let Him deal with it. You are trying to get out and the enemy wants to torment you, don't let him..:) I'll pray for you as well, because I know what it is like to have the enemy to keep bringing up the past, it's his specialty..

Here's a comprehensive blog on monavie http://www.juicescam.com/ - and the owner never was involved in MV, but I think people tried to recruit him and he started researching.

Something that brought about such extreme emotions like that doesn't really go away when you've put it behind you. It doesn't mean that you should feel guilty or that you haven't done everything you can... it's just the mind digging up old slush. I have experience some of this, though not nearly to the scale that you have! I know that waking up from a dream about a bad time can be disheartening, but it's best to find a way to keep putting it behind you. I see that you've already got loads of support from the posters above me. Keep fighting the good fight! I'll be praying for you too.

Personally that is one of the main issues and problems when dealing with some of the Networking companies out there with a product. They try to force you into doing the Business, and then if you are not making $$ for them, they ridicule you and make Fun of you, and makes you want to hide. Might even scare you from being with any other company from there in the future as well. I have actually belonged to a couple that sound like this, and the problem is especially in the economic times like this, I really wonder how people ever survive doing this. You have to spend a lot to make anything, and have to almost downright lie or beg to get anyone to want to do it. Luckily I am with a Great company now that I really enjoy, and there is no pressure. I can make as much or as little as I want and that is OK. Wish others were more like this for sure.

This system was very complex, you were "in the business" and "loved" if you're buying all the tools they want you to buy (books, cds, function tickets, etc).

Elizabeth, what have you got to feel guilty about, you were taken advantage of ? I have known of other "opportunities" that become almost a religion, and it seems to be a common practice. I think you have these dreams because you are still feeling in bondage to the scheme, that it still owns you, because of your debt obligation. You are a woman of faith, and you should pray to be released from the guilt.I do have strange and unsettling dreams from time to time, and I do not like it, but I do shake them off. I think you have not forgiven yourself for falling for this program. It may help to make a list of your concrete progress so that you can see that you are doing the right thing now. Come visit with people who will build you up,because I know that sometimes you are in a situation that does not do that for you. Right now, get out of the dark and into some bright sunshine. Eat some healthy carbs, and count your blessings that you are no longer in that endless cycle of debt.

Oh, I been taking lots of walks recently, and using my backpack and my beloved brick hehe, but I know that I am doing the right thing, and I'm happy that the actual experience is no longer existing in my own life. I do pray to G-d, but not on what you said, I pray that G-d will get people I know who are in Monavie/TEAM out of that MV/TEAM scam and for the company to be shut down. It has become a concern for me especially since one of the top leader, a policy council member, lives right here in Halifax, too. Scary stuff. My husband has never been in debt. He's taking it a lot better than he was before, but I can still tell it's bothering him on the inside, which makes me even more determined to pay it off as quickly as possible. He wants a motorboat so bad, for years, but we couldn't afford one and I'm feeling bad because of it. I think I'll email a lady reverend that I was corresponding with, she knows what happened and my upline has tried to recruit her as well, so she does understand a bit, but I just didn't want to bother her too much, is all.

I am not going to tell you that you really made a bad mistake. What I am going to tell you is that you should not give up your desire to be making a good living at Multi-Level Marketing or, as some folks call it, Network Marketing. There are some really legitimate income opportunities out there. If you can find a book called "Network Marketing for Dummies" by Zig Ziglar read it. I found mine in a YARD SALE. You might also find one in a SECOND-HAND or Thrift Store at a very reasonable price. I would not recommend buying a brand new one. Paying too much for what you get is how you may have gotten yourself in the pickle that you're in now. If you find one before I do, let me know so I can stop looking for one for you. My wife and I will help you if you let us. You will recognize her by her name on MyLot, she goes by GardenGerty. Good luck.

Hi, Finlander, thanks for the reference, I can probably hunt down a free pdf file or find a copy at the library. I don't think I'll do any MLM, though, just doing the free stuff that I'm doing now, like Mylot, Sidetick, and some cycler programs that I'm in that doesn't require recruiting. It might give me some good tidbits, though, because I'm using Melaleuca products and really like them, but don't have the people skills to be a salesperson.

Sometimes when we over think certain issues in life they come to realization in dreams. I know you are diligently working on paying off your debt, which is excellent so I would say that perhaps the overall thinking process is somehow processing into a dream. Someday Masihi this will be all over and will be a thing of the past. I do have several offline issues and I am a way over thinker so my nightmares are so scary at times.

Ya, I did hear that if we think a lot what we think about will show up in our dreams. I deal with this emotionally every day but the only way I can get healing is when I pay off my last credit debt bill.
