I get offended whenever someone looks at me from head to foot. I can feel my blood rush into my face when someone does that. I feel that I am measured. For me, you should do that, when the person isn’t looking at you anymore. But upfront, for me, it’s really offending.

It’s not just polite to glance at a person from head to foot. It’s as if you’re challenging that person into something or you’re making them look suspicious. I usually would give an odd face to that person to let him know that I wasn't feeling good about it. If he keeps on doing that then I'll just confront him and ask.

That's true. Doing that is like a challenge to you as a person. I guess, i would do what you would do too, if they will not stop doing it.

Sometimes asking them is only way to stop them from doing it. Oftentimes, there are persons whom we'eve met before and they're as well trying to remember us. There are times that it's surprise because we've already encountered that person sometime.

I guess you are correct. But it is offending to look at you from head to foot. Isn't my face enough, to remember if you have met me before?

This happens mostly in India. They will not do it subtly but right on one's face. Ugh! I say. I hate it too. I coil up when they do that to me and avoid such people if I can.

Really, they always do that in India and so openly? I think , i don't want to go there if i have the chance. I might get into trouble, because when they do that i will really glare !

I have been to other countries quite a bit but did not notice anything like that specially when I could be a subject of interest being from a different nationality and yet I did not feel that way.

@Simply I think this kind of staring-glaring happens all around it isn't in any particular country. This it not a hobby for people to stare at each other!

Hi Tita D, I admit I also do that sometimes, but I do it intentionally, especially if that I hate the guts of that particular person. I'm a mean girl sometimes, I admit it but I must my attitude really depends on the persons who I'm talking to. Have a great day ahead!

I guess, each and everyone of us has a meanness in us sometimes. Girls would usually look at you from head to foot , just to challenge you.

Yeah, it's true, it's really offending when someone do that to you but don't get affected. They just envy you for sure I remembered my high school days way back, I did not only got a stare from head to foot but for me a sort of disrespect too. My bestfriend and I passed by her classmate in the school corridor and they greeted each other. That classmate was also with her friends so she introduced my bestfriend to them and when she looked at me, her eyes run down on me from head to foot and remarked "and she, oh, I don't know who she is!" with a matching raising eyebrows huh I just shrugged it off only to find out from my bestfriend that, that girl's boyfriend who happened to be our friend too had a crush on me, wow! I just laughed because obviously that girl don't like me because of envy maybe, or jealousy of some sort

So you see, when someone looks at you from head to foot, it has a meaning. It may be that they admire you, but most of the time it's envy, hatred or jealousy. Me, i don't do this in front of the person. I may do that, once you turned your back on me.

two things ...its either a compliment that your fashion sense was great and that person was appreciating your get up ....but on the hand if your fashion sense was a bit odd and its capturing attention other's attention then it becomes insulting remark in a upfront silent way

If You were appreciating what you see,You might take the opportunity to get in a compliment-If just standing there locked on,they'd either take offence or maybe feel intimidated..

I never find it as a compliment , when i am looked from head to foot actually. That's because in my case , when i appreciate a get up, i would blurt out the compliment before appraising you from head to foot. From afar, i have already seen your whole getup so vocalizing my compliment would come first.

in the filipino culture, when u cross path with a stranger one-on-one, have you encounter some one gave you a compliment esp if that is a woman...I guess not or once in a blue moon if ever it happens c",)

I would be offended too! I mean, who wouldn't? But the best way to deal with it, I believe, is to give them a taste of their own medicine. Look at them too from head to toe and see if they won't get affected. And if they react negatively, then say flatly that you are only returning the favor. Hmp!

I would do that too sometimes, specially when i am having a bad day! Usually, they would recoil.

I can understand your point here,it's like getting an instant inspection of everything about you from your appearance, your shoes, clothing, and even your body shape...And it's quite insulting for them to be doing this while you're aware of it..Body language is an important part of our interpersonal communication, what is actually said only forms a small percentage of the information passed..Having someone Arrogantly checking you out like that is like them issuing You a challenge..it's your call how to respond..

Hello D! Well i hate being measured up like that too and i share the same feelings. When a girl looks at me like that i can't help but be irritated but to calm myself down i just tell myself that she's just jealous coz i'm prettier than her. I hate it when men stare too much, i feel like i'm being undressed.

Hi Toni. Yes, we're in the same thinking on this. I really feel annoyed. And you are correct , she's just jealous because we look prettier than her. Me, i would glare at the person if she's a girl or a becky. But if it is a man, i would snob him! When men stares too much, iirapan ko sila! Tse! Hi Stowyk, you are right , they are just jealous or maybe envious.

I think it is depend on the way the person looked at me, the eyes can never lied whether the person looked at me because of jealousy or because the person is impressed with us. I had experience when I hanged out with my boyfriend for the first time, a girl was stared at me from head to foot and I can tell she was really jealous to see my gorgeous man walked with me, so I stared back at her and smiled evilishly hahaha. But in another time, a girl was stared at me but I dont see jealousy looks in her face so I noded and gave a friendly smile. Their eyes will tell whether they looks at us with jealousy eyes or with wow eyes.

Well, you have your point there. It's the way their eyes look at you. Sometimes, when girls looked at a girl that way, i am sure, it's out of envy. They wouldn't dare look at you if you don't have what it takes to be looked at.
