Consumer service down the drain.

Canus Soap - My favorite soap now
Canada

In a previous discussion, I mentioned that I noticed that Dove Soap wasnt cleaning as well as it did before. I tested it and sure enough, it wasnt doing the job anymore. In my discussion, some suggested that I write to the company to complain. I did and this is the reply they sent to my email: "Thank you for contacting us. We do apologize for the experience you reported concerning Dove Bar. Please understand that the condition you've reported does not represent our usual quality. Before making any product, or change in formulation, we conduct extensive testing in our laboratory and by consumers. We have found that our products perform well under a variety of conditions, but we do know that an individual’s body chemistry may affect the performance of products such as this."

When I have contacted companies I usually get good support, and freebies or coupons as well. I guess they must not need your business very much as they are essentially telling you that it is your own fault that their product does not work for you.

I wasnt expecting freebies but some support would have been nice. No coupons, no freebies...as you said, its MY fault. I guess I can tell all my friends now about this. Then the companies wonder why they go under!!!!

Ive noticed lately that companies really dont care. Im looking to find a contractor because we have a problem with water infiltration that happens only sometimes, not all the time. Ive called a lot of contractors and none has called back yet. Same when I try to buy a product, I'll call to get information and nobody calls back. Seems like the customer just doesnt matter anymore. If you're having problems with your cellphone, try to get help. Here its nearly impossible!!

Wow this is sad as in the past a Company like this would issue a refund, if someone complained.

Although a very professional response from them, I expected they at least send you some free ones to get you as a consumer to change your mind. I can't imagine that our body chemistry changes where we notice this type of difference in a product. Huh? I guess you are right and sad too because my body chemistry I guess has also changed because I have noticed on how less effective their products have gotten. It is like they are weaker strength then before. I have contact other companies and have received free and or free coupons to pick up more. So this is odd that they not compensate somehow. I guess they can afford to loose a customer and shame because one customer lost is word of mouth from you that also loose.

Yes professional but that doesnt mean whooptidoo to me right now. NO free samples, NO coupons either. To be honest, being told that its my body chemistry that changed, I wouldnt have used their free product or coupons. I would have sent them back probably. You're right, I will tell everyone I know. So they not only lost me as customer, but they will lose more. Shame is it?

It is a terrible shame that they think one customer means nothing. What happen to customer satisfaction? Where a company went the extra mile to assure customers continued their loyalty. The body chemistry response was a really lame excuse, in my opinion and they should be ashamed of themselves if this is what they say to the many that have and or will complain. Guess a good product / company just when down the drain.

Yes that would be me doing all of that. Sad on how a lot of companies are cutting corners to save, so they can profit. Sadly those companies go down the drain.

I'd ordered some specialist bike chain lubricant online not that long ago,and it arrived by post in a sealed polybag...literally...I cut open the top of the bag and the plastic bottle inside had been busted in transit, the contents were everywhere..I contacted the business, and they sent me out an intact replacement with an apology,so all was good.. My other experience didn't get as far as the company customer service..I discovered a wasp in a Jar of Jam years back, and took it to the local environmental health office..and was accused of setting it up! They sent me a letter afterwards (No apology) saying the wasp had been packed in the Jar..I didn't take it any further, but haven't bought that jam since..

It was just the shock and surprise of being confronted and accused like that..I made an hour round trip to bring it in to them..How freakin' DUMB did they take me for to be bringing the contaminated jar to an analytical Lab to be checked out under any other circumstances than an honest discovery?

I would have felt the same. I guess they wanted to find out if your fingerprints were on the wasps maybe? How silly can companies be. You should have taken this story on TV and let many people know how stupid and shameless this company was. Why not tell me the name of the jam so I make sure I never buy it. I'll support you in this!!

Good for you that they sent another bottle back!! You were accused of making it up with the wasp in the jam??? The nerve of these people!! You should tell me the name of the jam and if they sell it here, I'll make sure I dont buy it. I'll support you!!

It does happen more and more does it? Sad that we live in a world where the customers is NOT right anymore. The companies are masters and we are to be the slaves buying their products and not complain! Im not buying their product anymore. I found another soap and this is what Im using now.

I've done this several times over the years. Most of the time I get an auto-reply that's set up and sent out. Quite often I don't like the result, and in order to get result I have to turn into a bit of a bit*ch. I'm not proud of it, and I don't like behaving in a way, but usually people refuse to take me seriously sometimes. This is very annoying, frusterating and I tend to loose faith in people at times. Hense why I keep people at a distance because I don't like having to pull out my ugly side to get results. Technology makes people lazy.

Dont worry, I can turn into a b*tch also when I really want to. To be honest, it does come naturally to me at times But since I dont like their soap anymore, I wasnt planning on ever buying their products anymore and I told them so in my email. Told them that Ive asked my friends what they thought of their soap and said that I was on a very well knows Forum and that a lot of people agreed with me that their soap wasnt cleaning anymore and this is the reply they give me Well as we say, screw them. I'll keep bad-mouthing them till the cows come home Its ok to be a b*tch at times. Its the only way people listen to us, right?

I sent Bird's Eye an email asking them why they don't supply their Frozen Garden Peas in my area (have to travel in the car) and I'm still awaiting their reply, some 2 months later..probably longer. Dove is made by a chemicals company called Unilever in this country and I'm amazed they've admitted to "extensive testing in our laboratory" in Canada as they're well-known for testing on animals - here at least. You need to ask them what they've been testing the soap ON.

Well I guess you wont be getting a reply from Bird's Eye anytime soon. Sounds like companies dont care anymore, its as simple as that. If YOU dont buy, hey, someone else will. I do remember Dove's commercial mentioning that they do NOT text on animals!! Thats here in Canada, so why do you say they do here, test on animals? Not that I believe what commercials say but to come out, say that and keep testing on animals??? They should be sued for this then!! One more reason for me to bad-mouthed them!!
