Hard to believe that HP gave up the touch pad although it has released not long time ago. Now they sell it for $99: http://www.forbes.com/sites/briancaulfield/2011/08/21/thinking-of-buying-a-99-touchpad-dont/?partner=yahootix
It is a nice price. I think it is worth to buy one

$99 just for a touch pad? Wow! I used to work for HP. Is it new? I will wager that HP brought the price down to cause a buying frenzy. Wanting to get rid of them because they are going out of style. You could save that money, add to it, and then buy the newer gadget. Up to you but something to think about.

youless,
Well, I believe the sudden drop in price has something to do with the latest decision by HP to drop the webOS operating system and for reasons unknown discontinuing their line mobile phones and tablet Touchpad here.
I felt sorry for this as I was really expecting the Touchpad to be a great alternative to the overrated iPad2 which is so restricted. Anyway, I still would advise buying it for one, HP will still be providing the necessary service and support for the product. However, I am afraid that you may have to get it from Hong Kong since it is unavailable in China.
It is pretty impressive to have.

Wow $99?? That is great but will not make me have one!!(^^)The application is limited plus it exactly can't compete with the ipad so that is why they lowered the price to finish the stock maybe~ hehe just my thought~ Plus the touch pad is a little bit bulky~ but for someone who wants to have a touch pad this is a great start!!

Like all technology competition is always out right away. This does sound like a really great deal but I will not be buying one anytime soon. It actually would make nice Christmas gifts for those who would like to have one.
