L.O.L. I really want a huge big screen television but the price is way too high!!! I was at rent a center this past weekend and saw a big 72 inch television and the sales guy said you would be better off with a smaller one that gets a better picture and my husband said that was too big! Hey I want a big t.v.!! What do you think? Do you have a big television or do you think that is too big? I mean we are in a house.

My husband and I are planning to buy a big screen TV and replace our old one. We have a 29-inch Sony TV but we are planning to purchase a flat screen, 42-inch HDTV . This old TV we have is quite reliable and we had this for years but my husband said that the new HDTV sold in the market today are energy-saver compared to the one that we own. We love watching movies together with the kids so we thought it would be fun to have a huge TV. But not the 72-inch that you mentioned, although if we can afford it then we will give it a thought. But there's nothing wrong with dreaming and visualizing your 72-inch TV. I think it is great that you dream for it, who knows it will become a reality someday. ;-)

Yes it is a nice dream to have because after seeing the price on that thing, believe me it is only a dream now but a good one.

The last time I bought a TV it was a 21 inches one because the one I had was to old to place a DVD to see movies there. THere was no placee to plug the thing as when I bought the old one, the machine did not exist. I have that 21 inches TV as my only TV. It´s in my bedroom. I wouldn´t dream of buying another one: I don´t need one. I have heard that we will hav to buy plama TVs at some time because we will not be able to see TV from our old ones. It would be a pity. Mine is in perfect working order.

You are right! Now you can´t even have a TV fixed if there´s something wrong with it. It would cost you more than to buy a new one. Have fun window shopping though

I think it would be a waste of that much money for the 72 inch what if it was to gp out? And eventually all televisions co out just like we wear our shoes out so I can only dream. L.O.L.

I think that would be way too big. Maybe a 50 something inch if you want to splurge on something. We'd like to get a fancy flat screen tv too but the prices have come down in the past several years just not enough to suit my budget. I also feel you should buy something proportionate to your home.... you can't have a small home like me and have a tv the size of your couch! Plus I think we'd go blind from it!

Yes I would go blind too! He he he but it was way too much money for something like that and you know it will eventually go out!

Generally people would think that having big TV in their home as a symbol of status. If you wanna show your status then you can buy a big TV. But, I think what ever TV you use the program you watch would be same, if you use a TV with good quality picture. So, I advice you to buy a good TV that has good picture quality and features rather than a big TV. I also advice you should save that money you thought to spend on a big TV for future use.

we have a 57" rear projection hdtv and we really like it. size is a problem because it is a rear projection, so is deep as well as wide. the room it's in is 20' X 18'. if it was an led or whatever, and could be mounted on a wall, it would be better. if you do rent-a-center, watch what it's costing you. usually you'll wind up paying way more than the equipment is worth.

We do have a 52" screen. Funny thing. When we first got the TV we thought it was too big for the livingroom. Well, we've had it for almost 2 years now and I think I would like to have an even bigger TV. See no matter what you have you always want something better. I'm not sure why we are like that as humans but it seems to fall true for everything. Best Wishes!

I think anything over 50 is just getting insane. We bought our tv in January. Our favorite team was in the Super Bowl. We said if we'd make it, we'd buy a tv. We haven't had a new tv before, it was always hand me downs or bought off friends. We just happened to be watching the Home Shopping Network and they had this 47" tv on for a little over $800! It was a great price plus they have flex pay, so we just had to pay a little over $200 for 4 months. I'm really glad we got it. We're hoping to get another one soon for our family room. I don't know if we'll get another 47 inch, maybe just a little smaller.

Well, I haven't seen an actual 72-inch TV yet but I wanted a 32-inch Sony Bravia so much when I first saw it so I guess I'd be wanting the 72-inch more when I see it. I could imagine one in my room right now.

We do have a big TV, it is funny whenever people come to our house for the first time that is the first thing they notice. They always say, "That is a really big TV." The size of the TV does not matter when it comes to picture quality as long as you you use HD channels you picture will be perfectly fine. If your house can handle a big TV and you want one except for the price there is no reason to not get one, of course the TV can not over power what ever room you put it in either though.

Ha ha, my TV screen is like 24" inches I think. Not big at all. I actually don't even have cable to watch on it. I'm not big on TV though, nor buying the newest electronics (unless it's a cell phone). I try to remind myself there's a difference between "need" and "want" - especially when it comes to unnecessary luxuries like big, flat screen TVs. Sure, it'd be nice, but not when the money spent on it could have gone to something more productive, something you NEED - you know what I mean?

Unless you are abnormal, your eyes can't see something that big at once in the distance available in most homes! You want a bigger house? I'll keep my 14" portable!

Well I do have seeing problems I can not see very well even with the glasses I have I guess it is time for another eye exam?

I have an older 52 inch screen, not a flat screen. I do enjoy watching TV on a bigger screen but 72" seems a big too big. I would not mind having one, it is paying for it that would be the problem for me. lol

Well, there is a limit for everything. I don't see much fun in having a gigantic TV compared to a more regular one, that is once I see, say, a 32 or 42 inch one I think that's big enough and more than that is just a waste. Also there will be a problem of where to place and from where to watch such screen. I'm no big fan of those too, but maybe a 32 inch is good (I'm still at 21 anyway )

Lol...i think this is the first time i have ever heard of the wife wanting a big T.V. and not the husband. A 72 inch T.V. sounds huge, maybe your husband would agree on a smaller one, now a days with the flat screens even a 51 inch looks pretty big... In my home we have always had small T.V.'s my friend was moving from a house to an apartment and the 63 inch T.V. she had been carrying around for years did not fit in the apartment, so she gave it to me, cause i had just moved from an apartment to a house, to tell you the truth it is taking some used to, for now i still prefer watching the 26 inch T.V. in my room. If you don't mind me giving you some advice, if you really want a big T.V. instead of going to a place where they rent them where you will end up paying 3 times what they are worth, go to a store and if you can hold off a bit, put one on lay away, it would be cheaper. I'm telling you from experience...
