My Kids Just Painted the Cat

Really. I was out getting on with chores outside and when I came back I discovered that we had a blue kitten. Thankfully it's kid (and kitten?) friendly washable paint. The cat didn't seem phased by her change of appearance at all, until I tried to wash her clean. I bet there are parents all over who are counting down, like me, the days until school term start again! Have your kids done anything daft recently?

My kids did a lot of daft things when they were small and I usually got a good laugh out of it! One day I was getting the car ready to go to town and remarked how dirty it was and that I would have to clean it out soon. My youngest was 3 and his brother was 4. I went in to get some stuff and when I came out, my baby had the hose going in the car!!! I'm laughing as I type this! I panicked! Thank God I did not punish the poor boy, he was only trying to help. The dealer we bought it from wet-vacced it out for me and it really was clean!

My child is too neurotic to do anything off the beaten path. I would have loved to see the poor kitty with it's new makeover! It's amazing what kids think of!

I've just discovered that they've also painted a brand new LED light bulb, which I'm less than impressed with.

Aw... Where's the picture? Did they give any explanation as to why?

Of course they are. Kitty did it herself.

Maybe kitty jumped into the paint?

No cat, and no cat-painting incidents in our household, but I am also counting the days when the school will start again. I couldn't wait until the normal schedule starts again, and none of these driving to and from summer activities. Less than a couple of weeks to go! Yey!

Isn´t it terrible that we´re wishing our kids away? But if mine don´t stop bickering I swear I will take them back to school early!!

Lock them in a room, and may the best ´man´ win! Mine are just shrieking at each other endlessly. It´s driving me demented.

Yes it is terrible! But mine, who are both boys, are currently into punching and fighting each other. I think it's about time that they have some school-disciplining!

Where did they paint the cat on ?It sounds like they did it on clothes. My granddaughter who has just turned 5 hasn't gone to kindergarten of late.Every day she scribbles with chalk on ground and wall.I have to follow her and scrub it.

You´re right. My terrible children actually painted ON the cat. The cat didn´t seem phased means that the cat wasn´t bothered. She actually didn´t seem at all upset and was sleeping on the bed when I discovered her. Is that your granddaughter in your avatar photo?

I get that, thank you for explaining. My avatar photo is none other than my granddaughter who was playing the ERHU-a Chinese musical instrument.

Oh !I have got it wrong. It turned out to be a practical joke.Your kids dyed the cat blue ,rather than painting on clothes.I don't know what "the cat didn't seem phased by her change of appearance"means.

My kid is the master of doing and saying funny things! He once put the goldfish from the outside pond in a drinking glass. I did not notice until we were in the car and I asked him who fixed him a drink. I was already imagining juice spilled in the kitchen floor. He told me it wasn't his drink, it was the goldfish and he wanted to take a car ride with us!

I think I'd prefer the ocean theme to zombies, but it really sounds like you've got a bright cookie there.

You should see his artwork! He is an amazing at drawing for a six year old! He has been on an ocean kick lately but he was into zombies. I have a notebook full of his zombie drawings! Their not like what you think of when you hear zombies but abstract and strange looking.

Nope, mine are all gone. My nephews did find a bottle of hair dye and dye their cat, and the dining room chair once.

Dying the cat must have been quite an achievement. You wouldn't imagine it would hang around long enough. No kudos for the dining room chair though, inanimate objects are easy

I don't have kids but my mom used to run a nursery school, and occasionally the kids would paint eachother. lol Once Mom was able to stop them, when she overheard one ask the other if he wanted to be blue or green. lol

I don't think I've ever been so cross as when another kid drew all over my kid's T-shirt. It wasn't just with the kid who did the drawing, but with my kid for sitting there and letting him! Along the same lines as painting each other I guess, but somewhat less messy.

oh my, blue huh? ought post a pix of this! No, no kids to do things like this, but I've certainly found my cats in interesting places - they are always doing daft things WITHOUT childish help!

The kids painted the cat, but the cat managed to 'paint' the bed.

I now understand why other people laugh at me when I tell them the frustrating things my children have done. It really is funny when it's not happening to you. I'm sure you're really frustrated with the situation, as I would be. I'm glad this will not truly harm the kitten. My kids have never done anything like painting the cat.. but my twins did go through a phase of pouring maple syrup on our little kitten. Poor kitty got very used to having baths daily, sometimes multiple times a day. They do all the typical kid stuff, write on walls, dump brand new containers of soap or shampoo or detergent, toilet paper the entire house. You know.. typical stuff. It frustrates me mostly because of the money wasted and the lack of money to replace what they've wasted.

I told this story to a friend, who told me that her TWENTY TWO year old son painted stripes on her dog! I guess some kids never grow up huh?
