When you signed up to myLot did you post right away?

I think there was a few weeks in between the time of me actually signing up and actually posting. The reason for this is that I wanted to get the lay of the land. Of course, when I actually started posting, I made my share of beginner errors but I think I would have made more if I had just jumped head long without getting a good feel for the website. Some people just tend to jump in right away and for some that works, but for others it does not. Particularly the type who decide that reading guidelines is beneath them but that is just a people thing, more than a myLot thing. Still there was a pause between signing up and participating. For some that's the best way to do things. For others, they can just jump in and do well. It really does depend on the person. Still I do not regret the wait, as it lead me to be the poster I am today and will eventually lead me to be the poster I will become in the future.

I am one like you only I took a lot longer. I was lead to believe myLot was an article writing site, soon after signing up I realized it was not. I was not at all interested in posting in a forum, so what I did was I logged in daily and waited 3 months before I became active. I took it a step further, I followed a lot of veterans daily. I also agree because I tried a couple of postings and did not seem to really feel like I knew what I was doing. Reading all the veterans posts and learning from reading between their lines, is what my friend to date has afforded me with being so active, learning the guidelines and how myLot runs. I am very comfortable here and feel that I will be here for a long time coming.

Yeah I can really see why someone might get that impression about it being an article writing website if we don't know what's truly up. Following the people who have been here for a long time, that does tend to be the best strategy. Let's face it, a lot of people might only be here for a month or two. If someone has really stuck here for the long run, they must really be doing something right in the end. Hopefully this website remains around for the long haul, for all of us that enjoy it. People will come, people will go, but the spirit of the myLot community lives on. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

Knowing the rules is rather important, not to get out on the wrong foot. Granted there have been some people who have really tended to really broken some rules due to not taking a close enough look at the guidelines but managed to really get slapped back down to reality. Some people tend to leave, a bit wounded and that’s really partially their own fault. That’s why I feel it’s a good idea to get an outlook on the website but some people’s mileage may vary. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

Yep it happens to all of us when we might not have known better. Let's just say that there was a couple of places that I got banished from on the Internet when I was a teenager and I can never return, due to the very strict rules they have. Some people are very strict but that's life. Just got to live and learn.

Nah, I didn't wait long and posted a fairly innocent discussion. It is still there to remind me of my first experience here. As PPE said, it was easy back then to earn lot more than what it is today. You can't believe how much time it took me to get my 2nd payment while my 1st one was so reassuringly fast! I didn't have to read a lot of guidelines, though. There weren't many.

It was a different time for sure. Of course I think there were pluses and minuses to a system like that and also the system today. Perhaps also in many ways, a lot of us have been along for the ride for a long time. Therefore there is a lot of discussions that have been really been picked over a lot of the time. Things have changed, guidelines tend to be rather more strictly enforced in my time, which does maintain the quality. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

Ah quite the storied history it rather seems. It really just seems like every day, I get the chance to interact with new people. Whether it be people who rather sign up soon or people who I seem to have not crossed any paths with in the past. We are just going to improve each and every day, learning from mistakes. Learning from each and every time that we post. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

When I signed up for the site I really didn't take it to serious you know but now when I came back and started doing work I never knew how much this site meant and what it could do for others as well as me because I like to write about any and everything. So now I am up here now just about everyday.

A lot of people do not really get the website at first but it can take a little time to find your feet. There are many general concepts that work with really getting to work on this website. Yet the more experience to gain, the more we get a feel of the website. The purpose of the website is what you tend to make of it. Hopefully you make the most of it, no matter how long you decide to be a part of this website. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

Exactly walking2010. It is my first day today. I was informed by my friend. I dunno what is this all about but I will explore this site for quite some time since i am a very busy person. Hopefully, just like you've said, it can do to others.

I tend to really re-check the guidelines every couple of months, so I can avoid wasting my time posting or responding to something that is going to get deleted. A refresher course is rather needed for me. Of course I read them right from the start but still its good to refresh. Especially if something is going to change. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

No I didn't. I took some time to see and understand the program, reading the guidelines too. I spent some time reading the postings of fellow-myLotters from countries around the world. That took me a couple of days to become familiarized.

It does tend to be the best thing to take some time to really get familiar with the layout of this website. For most us at least. There are just many times where it can be overwhelming so we need to step back, take a breath, and really just soak in anything. Then when that happens, hopefully it will be time to dive in and become valuable members of the myLot community. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

Yes I was anxious and I couldn't believe there was a discussion plataform that they actually paid for us to have fun. Since then, 2 years ago I post almost everyday, I think I only missed like 5 days.

It was an amazing thing to be sure when I heard about that. I'd be lying if when I first heard about myLot, I was really kind of skeptical. However once I really get to the website, it has really proven itself, with the quality and the community. I don't think that there is a day that I haven't at least logged in, although there might be days that I have not posted. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

I have joined other discussion groups before so I just read a few posts here, looked over the rules and started posting. Periodically if I have a question I go back and review the rules. Also, I paid special attention to those who have a high number of postings to see how they responded and I learned from them. I couldn't be happier with this site and plan to be here for a long time. It is a great group of people with so many interests and such fascinating personalities. Only thing is I am still looking for an avatar. I shall find one I like someday.

Studying those who have come before you does rather tend to give you an idea of what to expect. Especially those who have been here for years and years, as they do tend to have a pretty good idea of what works. There are a lot of fascinating people on this website for sure, that do bring a great deal of experience to the table. Hopefully that will continue for years and years to come. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

I started to post right away, because I was so excited with this site that I had to do that. During the first weeks, I read the begginers topics and learned a lot about the site too. I remember that on the beggining, I was addicted to this site and I used to post everyday for hours.

It was a rather exciting experience when this website had this new website smell, as we jumped in, whenever we ready to post. Whether it was right away or after a little break. Still even after all of this time, myLot is rather exciting and addicting website. There are a lot of people on here, that just amaze me. I like to consider myself dedicated but they put me to shame. Still there are times where I sit on this website, post, and just soak in all of the knowledge. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

Yes I did and I regret it. The discussions I started sucked (luckily I just started 2). I laid low for a while because I realized that I should learn the rules first. Up to now, I rarely start discussions. I don't want to start a discussion I can't sustain or start a discussion with a topic I know nothing of. I'd rather comment on discussions. Sometimes I just end up reading. So much for earning.=)

yes, i started posting immediately. My friend referred me and I asked her to tell me the ways of earnings at the same time, so, I had a demo of the site from my friend so no time wasted on understanding the site.

Ah very good. Good to see that someone who has been here and knows the ropes rather well showed you what to do. That will really help you understand the website. I think that I turned out well without a guide, by trial and error, but still, it cannot be argued that having someone give you a nudge here and there, does in fact help. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

Well the first time I got here I just started to write about the whims of my life. I started to write about the people that we met and what significant impact was made on our lives when we met those people. And I am so glad because a lot of Myloters responded on that. So it really gives me motivation to make more write ups. Mylot just simply inspire people. And little we know on what we do here we are also helping others.

It is rather great to see some kind of response when a topic is created. It does show that your topic, out of all of the other topics, have inspired someone to take a look at it. But not only take a look at it, but rather post a few good sentences about it. I think that people have gotten a lot out of the words written here, I know I have at many times. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

I did and i will say i was happy with all of the responses that i got.I did not have any posts deleted and i did respond to loads of other posts all on the same day, trying to get a few friends along the way.I will say that a friend of mine had also shown me what to do on here, so i was not left to work anything out myself.

It does help to know someone who has been here beforehand and can give you the benefit of their experience, both what to do and what not to do. Some people had to stumble around blindly, and while some of us turned out rather well, others did. Still it is always great when someone goes off to a smooth start, no matter what the circumstances are. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

With me was the same. First I wanted feel the site and just to know how it works what were the rules because I did not want to start my being here from violating rules. I started posting I think after two weeks from sign up.

Sometimes it just is better to get a feel. There are times where people can be very harsh on a website for those who jump in without knowing how things work. MyLot tends to be a kinder community than a lot of those on the Internet. Still with that fact in mind it is better safe than sorry. Get the lay of the land, get ready to enjoy the experience by posting at this great website. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

Yes, I did That was going like this: Signed up - reading the FAQs and guidelines for 30 minutes - checking once again, about whether myLot really pay or no - upload a profile picture - start to give responses I really can't wait to participate

Some people just jump right in. Of course, you technically did wait long enough to read the FAQs and guidelines. Some people kind of sort of skip that step and they wonder why they get burned so easily. Then again, there are just many times where there is an even shorter transition. Sign up---post in the first topic that you see or create about ten rubbish topics in about an hour that tend to annoy people and are likely going to get deleted anyway. Some people wonder why. At least you took that long, some people don't even take that step. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.
