Long way to buy a new CPU/Desktop

I believe this is going to take a while. for the meantime I have been looking for regular and local computer shops in our area. if i save for a new package (w/out monitor), though it's a brand new low price, the cost is almost 170$, though if i don't get my pay out for the whole three month and continuously earn with out getting my pay out until i reach this amount, it could work.
But
I feel kinda desperate, because I just want a motherboard & processor altogether since i got some other parts, but am not that good and fear it might not work if i attempt to assemble it. but it's worth the try.
It's sad that I could have use my earnings for other purpose.

I know what you mean. I hate having to buy a new computer when something goes wrong with the old one. I hate spending the money and loading everything back into the new one also.

Hell stephcjh, I don't mind really but i don't want my old Case to go to waste. Im planning to just replace the motherboard and processor. probably the technician haven't seen it yet, am sure that he will change his mind once he has seen it though. have a nice day

Upgrading isn't that easy. If I changed my old PC, I would need just about everything new.
Apart from CPU and Motherboard, memory will be different, hard disk will be sata instead of IDE, same for DVD, Power supply has different connections, PCI cards probably wont have slots, AGP card will be too slow and wrong voltage.
Only the casing is left!

Hello petersum, My brother's advice exactly. but the one that i have talked to told me that i should bring the entire case and the other remaining parts, even the so called broken motherboard or processor. the one i saw in the shop has four memory slots, i have four memory pci parts here it could be useful.
I'll let the technician handle it though. i hope it works out.

Hello choybel, I have check this place, unfortunately, the place is a bit far and i don't feel like selling my computer parts since it can be use for future purposes. i have search a computer shop and was able to get a cheaper price since the motherboard is rare and not new. i will find a way to have my pc reassembled again with out buying a complete new set.have a nice day

yes, you can save your earnings till december and probably by that time, you can already buy a new set of computer. or maybe i can help you decide and set-up the unit if you really want to have only the motherboard and processor, if i am only there near you.

Save your earnings till December my dear brother and I am sure you can buy a new set of pc unit with new lcd monitor as well.
I also want to save my earnings (hope so) for some purpose...maybe a new wheels (not a new car) just tires -hahaha.

Sis-Jaiho, I am so desperate really because if i buy a completely new computer then it would really good-bye for my old pc that i had to redecorate. there's a problem there is that i get less motivated as time goes by. i hope i can do motivate myself within the next few days though. have a nice day

Well, my dear friend. You gotta do what you gotta do! I had to do something I didn't want to do. When my computer crashed went out and bought the new mini that I have. I didn't want to spend the money but I had to have something right away for my job. I can't tell you what to do, but I would suggest getting what you need when you need it.

Hello Pointless-Q, Yes I know i have to do something but with out money i guess i have to take steps into looking for still working devices. I wish i can buy those parts as soon as possible, i hope am not getting to desperate to buy something wrong here. mine has crashed but the technicians claimed it can be fix. it's worth the try i guess.
