School is back in and though I love having my kids around it is nice to have the house to myself! My dh was home for a while and he is back to work now also. I have so been waiting on this time! I love the quietness of the house. I take the laptop to the living room to work. I turn the tv not to loud to the channels I want. (Christian or news and maybe The View) I def don't cook meals, maybe prepare a little for the evening meal. I guess I just like it calm and somewhat quiet, it helps my peace of mind!

Well I can imagine when I'm a parent that when school comes around it will be one of the best things because it'd be nice have a loving family but also be nice for everyone to get a breeak from each othere.

I remember those days! Then I went and blew it by deciding to homeschool the kids about halfway through their grade school years. Still, there were days when they were busy doing other things or gone with their dad, when the house was quiet and all mine. It was heaven. I live alone now, so it's not such a blessing all the time, but I still enjoy having time to myself. (Most of the time)

lol, I love the "went and blew it" part! I actually wanted to homeschool but she just wanted so badly to be with friends... I still take up the slack of the public schools! Thanks

Oh yes do I know what you mean. I remember loving the kids around a great deal then when school rolled around I could actually breath a bit. Time flies and they are no longer around and sometimes I wish they were home again. Now that it is my boyfriend and I and he is around a great deal, when he is off to work, I so love the peace and quiet from time to time. Have fun with the peace and quiet relaxing times.

Its a different experience each mom faces. When i had this new experience of sending the little one to school, i was restless and felt quite different as i use to keep her with me. Now she manages to stay with her friends and i can also stay at home concentrating on more other works. This is a transition for all mom and kids, but quite difficult at initial stage.

the house just seems to feel different when the kids are not home especially if they are coming from a long summer vacation ( long school vacations here are during summer)and I have been telling my wife that. It's so quiet, you seem to have more time to do other things for your self and electric consumption seems to go down, but on second thought I also miss them a lot and always wait for them to return in the afternoon, jumping from the car, to the gate with those huge bags

Yes sometimes it is good to be alone and enjoy the feeling of loneliness but not always. It is fun for sometime but not every time.Even i love staying alone but when that opportunity arises i want someone to be with me to enjoy that moment.

Hi devideddi, I am experiencing same as you.. My kid has just started her schooling and feeling home alone now. For first few months, i was missing her badly and worried how she would manage at school. But now i feel lighter as she loves her school. I get more time to do other works!

I do love the quietness of the house,i love to be alone and do whatever i want, but i should be safety enough or i will feel lonely.I always surf the internet on the evening and i feel so genuine in the dark night. The feeling is so cool and i just so enjoy it.Also i could ease my mind.Have a nice day.

I'am so happy that you now have this time to yourself. I agree that it is very important for us to have a little time to ourselves. I try to make sure that I have a little time for myself. Right now my daughter is still really young. So I've got awhile to go before I'm able to enjoy her being in school. But when I do need a little time for my self my mom is able to babysit her for me. So I enjoy that time.

I am also a home body and I agree there are just those time we need to be alone and enjoy our privacy. We live together with my inlays and when they go out of the country for vacation we are left alone at the house. My husband will also go out for work during the day and I am left alone then. I don't mean it bad but I also enjoy sometime alone at the house and be the remote control's boss.
